What You Learned From Your Last Disney Trip...

We loved our clip on fan for the stroller :thumbsup2
We just ordered and got from One Step Ahead 2 clip on fans for the stroller, can't wait to use them for my grandaughter in August.

An ice cold beverage is a wonderful treat to enjoy after a long day in the parks. Some people use the plastic trash cans in the room as a cooler. They place a plastic bag in the can, load in the drinks and then fill it up to the rim with ice. When they return to the room the drinks and chilled nicely.

I have heard wonderful tales of enjoying a cold adult beverage from the trash can while sitting on the balcony at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and enjoying the scenery and animal life.

I myself just take my soft sided collapsible cooler with a trash bag to put in it to prevent leaking. I also keep it in the bathtub because it tends to sweat when loaded with ice.

So now you know.

Looks like I misinterpreted your question Third times a charm.

For sanitary reasons I think it is a good practice to use a liner in your ice bucket. You never know what has been in the bucket.

Waiting for my day in the World,
Brenda

When in doubt... rent the stroller. Last trip with DD1, DS3 and DS5, we rented the double stroller at all of the parks. The boys took turns riding with their sister and the 2 youngest even napped when needed. Now 2 years later we plan to rent again and expect everyone to continue to share. It really helps keep everyone, including mom and dad, happy!

This will be my 14th year and I have learned:

That plans can be changed.
Relax and enjoy the parks and your family
When there is free Dining Plans, you must make your reservations in advance (I do miss making the spur of the moment reservation in September, but no longer with free Disney Dining).
When there is free Disney Dining in September, you must get your Fast Passes before noon, or you may not be able to get one.
I miss "E" nights
Bring Cereal and drinks to enjoy in your room.
Know your bartender at your resort and you can get some fabulous drinks at the end of the day.
Bring several kitchen size garbage bags from home. As you dirty your clothes, place whites in one bag, darks in another, etc. When you get home, you can just empty the bags in the washer.
A rainy Disney Park in the evening produces some fine photographs.

I've been 3 times so far.

1st time was our honeymoon and neither of us had a clue. We walked blindly around without knowing what we were doing. :guilty:

2nd time was our first trip with our boys ages 4 & 5. We had a blast. Still didn't have much of a clue but we got by seeing everything that we wanted. Didn't really know too much about character meals, so we didn't do any.

3rd time was last June. This time was much better even though our family of 4 went with 5 other people. I had just found these boards and started reading right before we left.

BUT since then I have been totally addicted to reading these boards and have learned so much that I feel like I owe money or something. :) On our next trip next year here's my master plan.....

1--SLOWLY walking through and actually SEEING all of World Showcase and enjoying it.

2--Going to Downtown Disney and hitting the Lego Shop and DisneyQuest. Probably in the middle of the week so we get a park break.

3--I am SO buying a picture for each ride we go on (well atleast the major ones) My DH has always been so cheap to buy these, but this time, I'm getting them.

4--Trying a Dole Whip Float (never heard of them until reading on here)

5--And for SOME reason (which I don't know WHY) out of the 3 times that I've been so far, I have seen the fireworks at Epcot once and have NEVER seen any of the other fireworks, no Fantasmic and no parades. :faint: But this time I would LOVE to see them.

6--I'd like to try some of the desserts in either France or Italy.

I'm sure there are many but these are my definates.

Ok now you are scaring me! We are taking my Mother in Law! She used to drive me nuts, since my Father in Law died I have tried to be nicer to her. Well at least she has her own room! I figure she could help with the kids.

That my kids (5 & 7) didn't really enjoy any of the parks except MK. My daughter only liked MGM because of rnr and tot. We are going back in Aug because of a free trip, and both of them complained when I said we were going to Disney....we ended up only buying 1 day 1 park tickets to go to MK, so as not to stress the adults out, listening to the kids whine. I just felt guilty leaving them at home......

Well, we always go with my inlaws .. and we have a BLAST..Although, my inlaws are bigger disney nuts than we are!! So, they are very easy to get along with, and we even share a room with my inlaws!

I have learned to cherish each visit as you never know when you will be back.

And, That no matter who you vacation with, always take some "alone time", me, i choose to go to Downtown Disney one night and do some shopping- with no one bugging me!!

We actually go with my in-laws too. Sounds like we have alot in common, Caitsmama  . They go every year, etc. When we do go together, they are kind enough to let us stay with them and we do some things together and some things apart. We have a great time!

Avoid the crowds down mainstreet in the moring, get on the train and go to toontown fast to get see the charaters before there is a line. Very easy, very quick and no crowds to start out with.

Don't worry about trying to make cute outfits. I'm a real girly girl so during the last trip I had a bunch of skirts that matched tops that I got...and a small suitcase full of different shoes...I ended up wearing my only pair of capris half the time I was there and flip flops. Soooo this time I learned to buy shorts *they're cute, too!* and comfortable shoes. Plus I'm pretty sure no one is paying attention to anything that anyone is wearing lol :goodvibes

Hey, it might have been obvious to you, but not to me lol!

We went May 2006 with two other families. We all had children under the age of 4 and stayed at AKL. We all said AKL was amazing but we will now stay at a resort closer to MK and preferably on the monorail. The reason was because we returned for an afternoon nap every day so the kids would not be deliriously tired and so we would not go crazy dealing with overly tired children. The bus trip back took FOREVER! I am returning in February with my DD3 and we are stay at the GF. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try not to bring disposable cameras....the xrays will damage ur pictures :guilty:
