Any annoying things about WDW

Something else that doesn't strictly annoy me but constantly amazes me is the way people behave at the airport when trying to get on the plane. They hover around by the departure gate and the second they are called through they all pounce on the entrance of the gate as if their life depends on it. You're on holiday guys, chill out!! Your seat's allocated so why the rush. And it's the same people in a mad scramble to get off the plane too, pushing and shoving to get out the door the second the planes landed. Why?? I just sit there in amazement and laugh when I get off the plane last and pick up my luggage while they're still waiting. :lmao: :lmao:

Nick

Ditto to this Nick. We have 2 small kids and can't understand why everyone seems to want to jump up and be first off the plane. I am nearly always last off the plane and find everyone waiting inside the terminal building.

Another for me is people on their mobile phones. I know that not everyone has travelled thousands of miles and taken a couple of weeks off from home and work, but take a day off and chill :snooty:

one thing that we notice when were eating.the lack of using a knife an fork.seen many people cut up all there food and then just use the fork to eat it.and when will servers take note when knife and fork is at 20 past 8 it means i havent finised my food, but half past 6 i have
Paulh
Hate this as well :headache: Unless the fork is turned over, leave alone :thumbsup2

A request, guys. Can we be careful to couch our responses so that they don't come across as xenophobic? Ta. :thumbsup2

Thank you. All cultures are different. Pointing out those differences as negative behavior is not nice.

I have never understood this. I want to be last onboard. I am going to sat down for about 8 hours. We always wait until final boarding is called.
Another thing at airports is collecting luggage, there is a line to stand behind, if everyone did then there is plenty of room (usually) for twice as many people, and easier to get your luggage off without hitting people but everyone insists on getting right upto the carousel.

And why do they let their kids stand there too -it's so dangerous-you need to room to swing cases off. Keep kids away - you don't all need to stand there!!!:headache:

One teen getting in a queue and then shouting their 200 classmates to come and join them.

They get the full on Blunt Brit treatment now, 'Oi Mate!, (fill in suitable admonishment here)'

deffintly the most annoying

pushing in front is rude - no matter what country you are from!:sad2:

We had a wonderful incident in MK last year, we waited with the kids for the parade and then as soon as the parade began someone tried to push infront of their buggies - no way was that happening, Shelby complained loudly and they moved!:lmao:

Three things, off the top of my head.

The Disney buses. I have never seen such pollution come from a bus, and they all do it. Just when they start off, a huge cloud of black smoke belches out every time. Hate getting stuck behind one!

Americans eating. It can be a gruesome site watching them chop up their steaks, but I guess the worst is being near them at breakfast. Stomach-turning combinations of eggs, "bacon", waffles, fries, etc., all smothered in syrup. Then they go back for more!

Lastly, the silly bag searches at the parks. Security? Bit of a sham really, since I usually carry my revolver inside my hat, which I am never asked to remove!

(just joking...:scared1: )

I used to think like you re. the breakfasts, but have you actually tried it?
Maple syrup on bacon and sausages is really very nice indeed!!
It's no different to having honey roast ham or apple sauce with pork.
Try it - you may like it!!
Just for the record in my experience, the rudest people I have come across in WDW are loutish Brits. The Americans are usually, IMHO, very polite.
Also, I have a son with Down's Syndrome who requires a wheelchair when in WDW and we don't go to the front of the queue at all. Just to a seperate, quieter holding area, which sometimes means us waiting longer than we would have in the normal queue.

Don't shoot me down for this but I hate to see screaming toddlers who are obviously so tired but their parents are still dragging them round the parks late at night when they should call it a day and take them to bed.

One thing I'll never understand is the Disney resorts have very little Disney-theming

All the Disney resorts are themed. There is Disney theming in the resorts, but it's very subtle (Hidden Mickeys on the bed covers for example).
If they made the Disney theming too 'in your face' at the resorts then it would detract from the main theme of each resort.

Not sure if they still do it, but they did have a 'Character Caravan' that visited the resorts with various characters.

Well here we go with a few of mine. Apart from heartily agreeing with with some peoples posts (airport baggage carousel/tired screaming kids in the evening/people standing in front of you at fireworks etc) two other things I'd like to add from the trip in August were both associated with the opening of theme parks. We tend to get to the parks for rope drop and when we were at DHS everyone made a beeline for toy story mania, the staff were just not prepared for it at all and hadn't set up enough queue space inside the building so it was just a free for all outside the entrance to get in. Secondly at Universal I hate the fact that they open the park at 9 but then don't open half the rides till after 10. We made it for rope drop and the first ride youwalk past going anti-clockwise is terminator 3D, the first showing wasn't will 10:40. by the time we'd done the simpsons and MIB Jaws and Disaster were both still closed. I hated having to walk round the park 2-3 times to do all the rides just because they were closed at park opening

Shoot me if you think this is xenophobic - Brazilian school parties !

However, some context to that. I don't mean when they're playing following the flag-bearing leader in their luminous t-shirts at the parks; rather, I mean when they try and pack 20 of themselves into a lift at your hotel without any regard for safety or others comfort.

This happened to us at the Residence Inn in 2005. They just kept coming until I'd had enough and 'politely' said 'No More'. No sure they understood the Scottish accent but they got the message !

Very dangerous.

I agree about Universal we was there on 27th August and their was only Simpsons and Mummy open at 9 MIB was broke Twister and Shrek opened at 10 and the others didn't open until 11 with no notice of that anywhere in the park.

You do if you're a single parent. ;)

My kids will not be left alone for second, even seeated a few yards away, they will be right next to me when I get our luggage.

I too think the Disney hotels theming is too subtle...which is why I'm staying at POP! The most Disneyfied resort ever! lol

Got to say, most of the things mentioned here happen wherever you are, nothing to do with WDW but people, usually Brits! We're an extremely rude, intolerant nation. :sad2:

Yes, that's it! It's too subtle. I don't want over the top but surely it doesn't have to be quite so subdued either?!

Or one of my own. An Irish dad in Blizzard Beach sending the kids up repeatedly with the refillable mug to be refilled about 10 times in one go to quench the thirst of all 8 kids plus mom and dad. I'm all for saving money but geez that was embarrassing to watch. :headache:

Hi,
This thread reminds me of the old Aussie joke:

How can you tell when a plane full of Brits has landed?

You can still hear the whining when the engines have stopped...:rotfl2:

Mick.

:cool2:

I am 100% behind you on that one :thumbsup2 .
As a family we have never seen a Fireworks Show,Never even been in one of the Theme Parks at night(have done before i had children). As long as my children are happy,i don't care what we miss out on.
This riles me so much when i see this happening, just because were in Florida-my children are still in bed at a reasonable hour and i mean by about 8pm the latest-as they are so shattered to go on any longer.
Next year our children will be 7(8-whilst over there)and 4 we are going to try a theme park for one night to see how they get on,as in arriving about 3-4ish after having a relaxing day to start with.If it works then great news-if not-no big deal. There's always next time.x.

Thought this one was just me......

The thing that cracks me up every time with this one is that if you are parked off-stand = last off the plane = closest to the doors on the bus = first out into the terminal = ahead of the mob into customs (remember to bear right) = first to luggage = first to car hire etc etc. :)
