Cool! Glad you had so much fun. I'm jealous!
Even though we didn't do much, we did get a lot done, if that makes sense. If we would have only done EE and Dino once, that would have freed up for 4 other attractions during the day, which means we could have done Nemo, Flights of Wonder, FOTLK, and KS, if we had wanted to do all those. I was bummed that Primeval Whirl was closed for work, cause neither one of us have ever ridden that one, and she's just now tall enough. Oh, well, another time.....
I really liked the parade at AK - it was really upbeat and the characters were great! Even the folks on stilts were very interactive with the kids. I loved the music, too. It wasn't your "traditional" parade, but I thought it was fun!
Now I still have the MGM parade to see. Pixar, right? Never seen that one either.

Erin - I forgot to look for that info - Here it is! http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wd...s/ggLandingPage?id=GrandGatheringsLandingPage I think you do have to be staying at a Disney resort, but I'll bet if you called with a party of 17 for a special dinner or safari or something, they would accomodate you!
PrinceandPrincessQ - Welcome!!!!!
I'm not sure about the bags, I haven't flown since all the new regulations over the past year. I'm sure someone else on here can respond to that though. Debbie? Cammie? Tammie?
As for being prepared, you've obviously come to the right place. Have you checked around some of the other threads on the DIS? I learned so much on various tips, so much so that my trip in 2006 vs my trip this past May were like night and day as far as being prepared.
The tips I used the most are having all my park hours, ADRs, confirmation#s etc, printed on 4x6 cards and then laminated. I keep them tucked in my bag so if someone suggests hopping to another park I can make sure that will work based on expected park attendance, ease of getting to our next ADR, park hours based on after hours parties, etc.
Also, don't know where you're staying, but if in a Value (or really any resort IMHO), I bought the hanging shoe bag and use it to put all toiletries in and hang in the bathroom. It makes it so easy to find whatever I need while keeping the counter neat, and thereby not so cluttered and crowded looking.
Also, consider a dollar store pop up hamper. Also keeps the room neater.
Dollar store ponchos (actually 2/$1) not just for rainy days but also water rides if you want to stay dry. They're so cheap that if I use them for Kali River Rapids, for instance, I take it off and give to someone else waiting in line as I'm exiting. Plus, they're so hard to fold back up. I usually take 6-9 for our family of 3 for a week long trip. Just in case.
Let's see, I"m sure I'll think of more, but off the top of my head, those are my must haves for our trips.
Keep us posted!!!!!
Welcome Princess Q! It sounds like you're ready for a vacation! You've come to the right place! We love to listen, and we love to help plan.
As for the bags, yes you can only take one "free" per person, as well as a carry on and a backpack or purse. We don't usually take much for carry on, but since we can't take as many bags, we brought two carry ons for souvies plus my purse this past trip.
Look at the airline website for sure, but the standard weight allowed per bag is 50lbs, and they charge you $25 if you are overweight - no not you, but your bag! On Horizon, a second bag was $50, and 3 bags cost you $125! We ran out of clothes on our Mexico trip - it was so hot - and I had planned to have some laundry done, but just spaced it. When we stay DVC, it won't be hard - I'm just going to bring less clothes and do laundry.
For planning, I love the passporter, which you can get at a book store quickest right now. There are tips and descriptions of everything, where to find info - which is how I found the DIS - and touring plans to help you plan the best way to get around. My best tips:
1. Get to the park at least 15min before opening.
2. We always pick the "big" ride we most want to ride and start there, when the lines are short. We send a runner up ahead to get a FP, then ride, get a snack, send a runner for a FP for the 3rd ride, then ride the 2nd one, etc. We get all of the big rides done before noon, have an early lunch, and then check out some of the small stuff, look around and shop or take a break at the resort.
3. We ride during parades - the lines are short then, too!
4. Your feet will love you if you change shoes every other day - they get sore from wearing the same ones every day - except for when wearing crocs - I can wear them every day.
5. Drink lots of water. Don't wait until you're thirsty. You go downhill fast in the heat.
Okay, I'll shut up! Happy planning!
Hi Ladies...
My Baby boy turned 3 today!!! I can't believe it!!!!!
We had family over.... all was good. Only stomach ache was when Thanksgiving and Christmas were mentioned and I was reminded how I stress over the fact I can't be in two places at once.
Welcome Sadie! I am so excited for you. Listen though all the airlines baggage guidelines are different and they are also based on when you bought your tix so you should probably check the airline web page.
Gotta run! One day I will lounge here and chat away... I miss it!!!
BTW Our weather has been heavenly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 70's and sunny!!!! I love it!
