In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

I know, Nancy...I thought the same thing! All excited that Paula has cycling questions!!! :cool1: :cool1:

Well, it looks like we have over 2 feet of snow here, but I am not sure of the totals yet. But it is A LOT. Kids have school, though, since it stopped snowing in the wee hours of the morning.

Off to clean the basement...will hit the gym later in the day. It is below zero today with wind chill, so no, I am not running outside today.

OMG Dawn - that sounds like a stripper name :lmao:

Oh yeah? What would your's be?:confused3 :lmao:

Good job, Liz!!! :thumbsup2 I had a VB moment this weekend (as in Vera, not Victoria ;) )....lookin' at all the fun bags, etc...found a backsack in Capri Blue...I tell Stephen he should buy it for me for Christmas. He says "ummm...and why do you want it?"....Me: "because it matches my checkbook cover, silly".....Him: "ah. I should have known there was a *logical* reason" :rolleyes1 I don't honestly expect he'll buy it. I'll just have to go get it for myself next weekend
Okay - I have looked...but somebody who love sthem...please explain to me what the greatness is in them? My ex mil owned a quilting shop when we first got married..and she even wore a quilted dress to our wedding with a doiley stapled to the front..(if i could scan a pic I would for your eye...she makes Mrs. Duggar look like a fashion icon...)

And I really want to be sold on why Vera vs Coach!

At the risk of sounding incredibly stupid since I used to live in new England. What is a snow stick??
Glad you asked cause I did not know either...I have seen them but we call them something different here...

Well, before you get all ready to give my a goddess crown for running in a blizzard...I didn't go. It is near white-out conditions here and was just too dangerous. We are at 20" and counting.
Glad you are safely taking care of yourself...:)
As for my week-end...party with the OutLaws was fine. I hosted and I was pleased with how everything turned out. Gifts were hit and miss, as they always are with this crowd. AMY--a snow stick is like this yard stick thing that many New Englanders put in the ground to measure the amount of snow they have. And that is what my inlaws gave Kel for her 6th birthday! That was her entire gift. A freaking measuring stick. Don't get me started.
I once got a puke orange dish drainer...followed by a bar of soap for my birthday...literally one bar...a botique bar yes...but still from my In-laws...so giving...and a huge welcome to the family...!:lmao: And that was as an adult...poor Kelly!
J is now home until January 5th. So tomorrow the kids go to school and he and I clean the basement. Good times.
I think though protest to much...Nancy...do you hear the music "Afternoon Delight"!:rotfl2:
Ok...did you faint? Do we need to call 911???:rotfl2:
Close...you are so impressive...!!!!
Tomorrow there will be more. Drunken sombrero picture....Mayan ruins...the pyramid I climbed....:woohoo:

I want to have a picture of you with a sombrero...drunken on the pyramid...:rolleyes1

Getting all the last minute stuff prepared...

I miss the days of no shopping and no work on Christmas Eve...I hate we have made it just another day for somany working people...

E - I was going to have to drive up there and show you my angry eyes if you went running in subzero temps... that is just not safe... thank you for not making me do that...

OK - since you and Nancy are already excited about my questions I'll ask now instead of waiting, but please don't go crazy responding until after the holidays... I don't want to take time away from your families and all...

So, I have been thinking that I need to set a fitness goal for myself as well as an overall weight goal since you really need one to get to the other. You all have been talking about training for a race and since I can't run, I have been trying to figure out something that would work for me and my body yet still give me that goal to reach for. When I do go to the gym, I do actually like spending time on the bikes so I thought what kind of events do they have for biking. Looking at our area calendar there is an MS Bike for a Cure event in July that has 10, 30, 62 and 100 mile course. Now, since I am not a cyclist yet, I have my doubts about the 100 mile course, but with some training, I'm sure I could handle the 30 and maybe even the 62. So my question is this... what kind of training schedule should I put myself on? There is no couch to 5k type program on the web for this that I could find so I thought I would check with my resident experts. I want to start on the stationary bike in the gym and then if I like this, buy a bike in the spring and take it to the streets. Any help and guidance would be appreciated...

and yes, I need a flashlight since it is getting dark in here...

OK - woke up 15 minutes before I was supposted to be at work and I live 40 minutes away... need to catch up on work now...

Paula

Paula - that sounds so great...and I am bowing before you as I type...not really but mentally I am there girl...

I am glad you found something for yourself that you could do and love and be excited to reach out for...let me know what you decide...I have no advice besides the fact that I believe you can do anything!:yay:

OMG Nancy, do you realize what this means??? We get to devise a training plan for Paula!!! :cool1: This is like the best Christmas ever! :lmao:

Consider it my Christmas gift to you both....

Hey guys, I am butting in again but this is for Paula, check this website out for the cycling training plan you are looking for:

http://www.experienceplus.com/assets/files/Under50poor101.pdf

It is a pretty easy and straightforward plan for working up to 100 miles from under 1 hour of exercise a week.

Have a good one everyone!!

You are not butting in at all, rather coming out of lurking status...

Thanks for the website. I will definitely check it out...

Back to work for me... (it has been crazy here today...)
Paula

I think though protest to much...Nancy...do you hear the music "Afternoon Delight"!:rotfl2:

 Thanks! Now that's stuck in my head :headache:

I want to have a picture of you with a sombrero...drunken on the pyramid...:rolleyes1

I should have made myself a bit more clear...those are all seperate events  OMG. I am SO scared of heights. If I had tried to climb the pyramid drunk, they would have needed to air-lift me off :scared1:

But definitely the drunken sombrero picture tonight

:woohoo: :woohoo: I'm so excited! We have the MS rides here too...I think 10, 25, 50 & 100 miles. One of my friends rode the 50 last year...I'm planning on it this time around...100 miles? Gotta do a 50 first ;)

OMG Nancy, do you realize what this means??? We get to devise a training plan for Paula!!! :cool1: This is like the best Christmas ever! :lmao:

I know! Totally excited! We could have a bike meet! :yay:

I worked late (just got in)....supposed to be heading out to finish shopping any moment here. I did a really good job on eating only the food I brought with me to work today (yay me :yay: )...so I think I'll fix myself a quick sandwich or something before we go....don't want to eat crap tonight...gotta purge my system of all the poison that I put into it this weekend

Hi all...been quiet here today and that is my fault as well...trying to get all this stuff done here for kids...cooking and myself...not sure if I need dinner for 7 or 11 people Wed night...so trying to make sure I have stuff that will make great leftovers...How can you not know what you are doing Christmas Eve?

Carsyn and I are starting a druming class at the Y - it is on Tuesday nights at 7...sounds like a fun group...

Paula - have you always liked to bike ride?

K...time for a couple more photos.

First, my disclaimer! My husband has to be one of the worst "people" photographers ever! :confused3 give him a statue. Or a tree. and he's fine. A person? He never gets it "right"...so most of my pictures are uber dorkey!

This one is for you Dawn....me. After a "bit" of tequilla....:rolleyes1

and some ruins pictures....these particular ones have not been restored, and from the picture, look like a heap of rocks! They are *much* higher than they look. And for someone like me, who has a HUGE fear of heights... I got up there and had to sit for a bit before I could talk myself "down" :rolleyes1

Yeah...I conquored those rocks! :rotfl2:

ok. don't know why those pic's were so HUGE...thought I had properly resized them. :headache: Great. Now I have a poster size dork picture in a hot pink sombrero.

Nancy, you are adorable! Totally!!!

ok, lots to talk about...family drama. Tell you all later.

xoxo.

Nancy - the pics look great.... It definitely looks like you were having fun...
oh - and I would kill for those biceps... goddess crown just for those, let alone conquering the rocks...

Liz - hope all is well....

OK - told my JC consultant about my biking epiphany and she is on board and excited (of course this was right after she told me that I gained 2.6 pounds this week... darn holiday parties and cookies...) OK - so focusing on this week and drinking lots of water, watching portion sizes and making good food choices... also heading to the gym on Saturday for my first day with the bike...

I even found padded bike shorts and pants in my size thanks to one of the catalogs I get. Will need to look into ordering these once I get my bicycle wheels going I'm sure... I may have some padding on my butt, but I think every little bit helps right...

OK - off to bed in an attempt to get my big ole butt out of bed on time tomorrow morning...

Hope everyone is doing well and remembering to stop and enjoy the moments / memories of the holidays and not just stressing over gift giving, cooking and such. If you don't have it by now, you don't need it right...

talk to you all tomorrow,
Paula

Nancy It's so GOOD to finally see you! NO you don't look like a dork! You look great! YAY :yay: :dance3: Nancy posted pictures!!!!!!

So Yesterday I STILL DIDN'T have a tree! The place that I usually get it I go to and they have 1 yes thats right ONE tree left! And they are closed! SO I checked their hours and they open at 730 . So I got up and called and said I would be done in a bit hold the tree for me! Now mind you I looked at it on SUNDAY we had about 8 " of SNOW. Really didn't "look" at the tree just knew I HAD to have a TREE! I went down and paid for the tree and asked them to deliver it to the house. Well as of NOON it still wasn't here and Stephen stopped and picked it up. I left for work and still hadn't seen the TREE. I just got home and the TREE is in the house and in the stand. OMG it is HUGE. Not as in tall probably 7 feet, BUT W I D E . I think it's as WIDE as my couch. S E R I O U S L Y !:scared1: I will have to move my whole living room around or get rid of the piano and put it in the foyer! I will snap pics in the morning and show you this wide a$$ tree!
As for now I am going to finish the last 6 pages in New moon and My brother bought me Eclipse and I should have that tomorrow!:woohoo: :woohoo: Then I am going to bed I am exhausted.

AND YES ERIKA WHERE IS LYZ!?????:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

NANCY IS POSTING PICTURES!!! My world is spinning off it's axis! Yaay.

I am in the hizzle. Dizzle.

Exhausted. And feeling a might bit of hysteria, coming home and seeing the mail and just the, ugh, reality of life in dreary 16 degree high weather.

I haven't caught up. I have to do that. Tomorrow. We got in around 7 pm. Everything is unpacked and house is in order and clothes are being washed. Whew.

Here is my holiday in a nutshell with highlights. Hmm.. or should I wait for pictures. Naw, I'll tell you about my week then give you a few pics when I upload them.

Wed - Fly down early. Due to storms in the north east, (E, N & S!!) our pilot had to time out and we had to wait for an hour for another. ON the plane. Get the rental, check in, (Nemo room) have lunch at the food court and swim. It was 80 degrees! The water was chilly (quiet pool) but the girls didn't care. We headed to Epcot around 5. Just me and the girls. Hubs was napping and had a little cold so he'd meet us later. We bust out Future World and have dinner at the Garden Grill.

Thurs - MGM (aka DHS-BS) tour, and lunch at H&V. TS Mania, OMG, so SO so much fun. Loved it. Hotel Nap. MGM for lights. Awesome. DDD for dinner and shopping. Earl of Samich. Yum! Shopping. Love Shopping. Mad saw Santa, I mean really, what's better than seeing Santa in Walt Disney World? She totally told him she wanted something I don't have. :scared1:

Fri - MK. OMG. We were knocking the park out and taking names. Lunch at LLT. Ho hum. Laughed and laughed while I got whiplash on the indy cars whilst Mad was driving. Moll did much better with her car. Hotel Nap. Evening at BW. Dinner at Beaches and Cream. My throat starts hurting. Like hurting so bad, I wonder if I don't have strep. It's not the hurting of a cold.

Sat - AK. I am so sick. I could die. Rolling over to get out of bed hurt. Touching my arm hurt. I hurt everwhere. My teeth hurt. We finally get out the door at 10 am I was so slow. I am literally in a fog. A marshmellow has taken residence overtop my head. I can't hear. I can't react. After the Safari I was nausous. I bailed. Headed back to room. You know how you can catch a bus just as you walk up, or after a 10 minute wait. I waited for 30 minutes! and I wanted to lay on the sidewalk and sleep. Words cannot express how bad I felt. And I never get sick. I am not a sickly person. I spent the day in bed. Finally at 7 that evening, my head stopped throbbing and I knew there was hope. At that point the rest of the fam was back from AK and swimming. They had a good time.

Sun - still feeling poorly, but 1000% better than yesterday. Bkfst at hotel, early touring in Epcot World Showcase. Hotel Nap. Evening in MK. Ohh, it was just beautiful. All lit up. Dinner at Plaza. The crowds yesterday, swelled so much in fact they were directing people to leave mainstreet by walking behind the buildings. We did it just for fun. There was a big sign. Evecuation Plan B.

Mon - Pack up. Outlets. MCO. Home. Ta-daa.

Carribean Beach. This poor place. It was great I suppose. It's fallen victim in "my" head to a couple things. 1. The size. O.M.G. 7 bus stops is, well 6 too many. It took a half hour every time you left the resort and everytime you came back. 2. Our bed. It was a full size bed. I was miserable. I was hot. I was cold. I was sick and I couldn't freaking stretch out. Glad I stayed. Got my magnet. Won't go back.

Now I will read what I missed. Well tomorrow. I'm headed to the queen bed with the comforter that doesn't weigh 20lbs.

About forgot the most important part. I am well thru New Moon. And I am dreaming. Alot. I think I'm turning into a vampire. Or a ww. Anyone else affected like this? Dreams.

And NANCY....you look EXACTLY like I had pictured you. Exactly. And we are the same size proportionally. I am shorter, but built the same.
