In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Hi gang,

I am not staying on long tonight as I have a bunch of things to do, but I wanted to let you all know that I am feeling a bit better about things. It is amazing what a little time in the gym can do. It also helps when your trainer throws something new at you to boost your confidence.

I freaking bench pressed for the first time ever today!!!!! Granted, it was all of about 50 pounds, but I bench pressed it!!! :goodvibes

OK - I am going to attempt to come down off of clound 9 now so that I can get a decent night's sleep. :cloud9:

Sounds like everyone is having a good night. That makes me happy. :thumbsup2

Liz - Why would you and Kat want to come up to Canada to watch them lose? I'm so confused. :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

It's On Now Sista! Take your bacon and your mucklucks too!

So, I will pretend to be Lyz for a moment...Where are you from? What do you do? What does Sue do? How long have you been together? How long have you been a Disney fan? Do you have a trip coming up soon? Ok, that should take care of it...for now. ;) You'll find that we like the details and the dirt.

Wow, I really fit you!

Do you have Facebook Amiee?

My sister and nieces are always saying "the Christmas pics etc. are on facebook". I don't know how many times I say I don't have facebook. I can't see them people.

I just don't have interest in it. But it is frustrating when they say oh it's on my facebook just add me as a friend. I don't have an account frustrating family members. :surfweb:

I am resisting the facebook too. I don't think it'll work. It's just a fad.

 seriously, I'm proud I "AIM". I can't do one more thing.

Regarding your Sex & The City Episode, Hi Lar Ious! And I remember that one too!

And LisaV--the Cutie doesn't have a FB account either. And once in a while she wants to see pics that people have posted. So she uses MINE. :rotfl2: One of these days I am going to log on to my account and find that she has replaced all of my photos with my old FAT photos! ;) Or that she has told one of my ex-boyfriends that I still have the hots for him. :rotfl: (Yes, I have 3 of my ex's as friends on FB. Maybe more, even.)

Like this one. I'd say it's my personal favorite.

Okay, just on the cancer thing....

Yesterday I was on the phone with my mom, which is where this "the chemo isn't working" thing came from. The tumor markings are up, they should go down, but whatever. Early to tell. Scan coming soon.

So, anyway, I'm on the phone with her and I'm like "Mom, you are going to die. Everyone is going to die. We all die. You will, too. Probably won't be now. But all our days are numbered." And she's like "Yeah, you're right."

The joy of discussing your mother's death with her. Welcome to my world! She's 62, btw. Young. And here's the CRAZY part. This is the good part of all this. Honestly, having my mom call me to discuss her fears about death is the GOOD part. I'm not complaining, I'm just sharing. It could be worse. She could have died in 1996. But instead, it's 2009 and we discuss it. :thumbsup2

I love that you have this relationship with your mom.

Well... Lyz, we're in Kansas City. I'm a programmer and Sue is an auditor. We've been together about three years. I started going to WDW in 1993. Biggest year was probaby three or four trips. Those were mostly with my ex. Sue doesn't like theme parks. I explain WDW is different. I'm going to have to run the half marathon to go back!

My last trip was in 2005. We almost went last year, but around the time we needed to decide my employer said, "soon, 20% of you will be gone." I didn't lose my job, but it was a good decision.

We started C25K together. We're not jocks:rotfl2: But we're both losing. The support we give one another is a huge help. It's as if we take turns being responsible.

Yaay, details. Loving it.

I hope everyone is doing well!

I've finally started to get the eating better thing down now i really need to work on the working out part of it. I'm finding it harder and harder to get myself motivated. I think i'm going to start looking into finding a gym, i can't seem to motivate myself to work out at home....

I'm not a huge fan of the typical gym scene. I'm a very self concious person and i HATE hate HATe other ppl watching me work out. Oddly enough, i hate working out alone.... None of my friends really work out (a lot of them don't have too..... lucky ducks) so thats a downfall too.... :guilty: Not sure on that whole front......

I can hear the wind howling outside, i'm just waiting to see something crash through our sliding glass doors...:scared1:

Stacey - can't remember if you've read the twilight series. (which should be required reading for this thread now. Lisa!)

If so, maybe it's a vampire. YUM.

I have not, i have a bunch of books that i bought that i haven't read yet, so i have a hard time convincing myself to buy more before i finish.

Is it really that good?

Lyz! Take it down, take it down! Ugh! That is what I get for posting in the middle of the night. Seriously, I was wicked slap-happy that night and took that pic at midnight. Then posted it without thinking.

Am I pissed that I can't run and train right now? Sure. Am I in a lot of pain and discomfort right now? Absolutely. But I just think to myself..."No matter how much this sucks, it beats the hell out of chemo." Words to live by, don't you think? :goodvibes

A-men

I had quite the morning. Long story short I was running out of meds for my cramps so I played some roulette with them and failed miserably. I forgot what my period was without them. I was about to faint. But it was one of those moments where bathroom, throw up and fainting were in a fighting match and I didn't know who would win. :lmao: Okay, TMI folks. Some winners and some losers.

Ugh. That really sucks. :headache: Feel better. And get more meds, would ya?

So if nothing else, I'll at least I'll look cute at the gym tonight.

:woohoo: That is so exciting. Feeling good about how you look can really make an impact on your workout

So - how WAS the workout? :confused3

Challenge stuff:
I did core today, so I am 2/2 for the week. No running. I will attempt to double up on C25K tomorrow.

I think taking an "injury time out" is TOTALLY acceptable. I mean, really - it's not like you just gave up and quit. Or didn't wanna, kwim?

Kat (or anyone else who knows - just not Nancy:lmao: ;) ),

I have a facebook/computer question.

HEY!

I'd be offended if it weren't TRUE :lmao:

If I was Catholic I'd be running to confessional. :rotfl:

Don't say a word people - I'm quite aware that I am being ridiculous.

:lmao:

Now THAT had me even higher than the pain meds! :cool1:

Nice compliment :thumbsup2

You're so right. Such a wonderful gift.

I'm going to have to run the half marathon to go back!

I've been known to do that :rolleyes1

Did I tell you guys she wants to follow Bruce on his tour this summer?

ROAD TRIP! How fun is that! :dance3:

I freaking bench pressed for the first time ever today!!!!! Granted, it was all of about 50 pounds, but I bench pressed it!!! :goodvibes

It was that new top! It gives you super powers :yay:

Stacey. I understand the not wanting to work out alone - I need to have other people around me to keep me motivated. And I also understand the feeling that people *may* be watching you. But guess what. If they are paying attention to their own workout, then they really AREN'T watching you. Sure, they may catch a glimpse of you now and then - but they aren't staring at you. It only feels that way :scared:

Shop around if you can. Find a facility that feels comfortable. Something that suits your needs.

Paula ~ not getting the car worked on tonight, but I am chatting with him. I'm sorry to hear about your bad day. Hang in there!

Lyz & E ~ loved the pic:lmao:

I have completely lost track of thinking. That's what happens when I start my day with a 3 hour meeting.:rotfl:

Exactly which album did you steal that from? It is not on my FB. Oh no--I am going to have to change all of my passwords! :rotfl2:

Liz--who you callin' crazy, Mayor?

Stacey--I hear you on the gym thing and feeling like you are on display. Here's a blast from the past....do you guys remember a year ago when I first started running on the TM at the gym? I wore SPANX under my workout clothes!!! I was so stressed about being all jiggly and having bulges that I felt the need to have everything all held in! :rotfl:

Seriously, Stacey, I'll be honest. I am someone who notices weight (because it is such an issue for me). When I go to parent night at school or something like that, I am always looking around the room and checking other women out. BUT, I never do it at the gym. Never. I am just focused on my own workouts, etc. I have my iPod on and am in the zone. My point is that if someone like me who definitely notices weight doesn't notice it at the gym, then I don't think anyone does. And if they do? F*ck 'em. :thumbsup2

Different kind of crazy. Workout crazy! That's you! And why not that pic, really? If you give me a girl answer, then you get to be my kind of crazy, like Crazy Town. You don't want that, right??? :rotfl:
