10/24/2009 Bash On the Boat (I'm with B.O.B.) - Thread 24

Dave and I went out for a nice dinner tonight and we finally got around to talking about what shore excursions and extra stuff we want to do when on the cruise.

For St. Maarten, I think we are going to do the Butterfly Farm excursion. I think the girls will like that and we can also go over to the French side. Plus, after it's over, we can explore a little bit.

For St. Thomas/St. John - I really want to do the St. John tour, but it will take the entire day, and I'm not sure the girls would be interested in that. I think we are going to go off on our own - see the big tram thing and maybe head to Coral World (anyone been there before - is it worth it?)

For CC - we are doing the Parasailing (hopefully). We can not WAIT for that.
Dave really wants to see the Flying Dutchman, but I'm not sure we want to rent a wave runner to do it. I kind of want to do the Stingray thing too, but I don't want to overschedule ourselves when on CC.

Ok - any suggestions or recommendations are welcome!! :thumbsup2

I was thinking about the butterfly farm also, but Matthew thinks we should do the beach excursions.

Parasailing is AWESOME> Matthew has a video from the sky posted on YouTube. He also took a still of the Wonder with the video camera that is amazing. He and Sarah went tandem. Megan and I went up right before him!

I saw someone had mentioned the parasailing on CC...here's a tip:
Book it in the morning! By the afternoon, it can get really windy and it gets cancelled often.

Right Mike & Robin

Hi folks! Thought I would pop in and see how everyone is doing. Too much going on in our lives right now. :headache:So much so that we have had to cancel our cruise. :sad1:I am very sad that I will not be meeting all you wonderful BOBers. :grouphug: I hope you guys have a terrific time! Have a smoothie or two for me! :thumbsup2

Maybe you should mention that you have a great camera with a telephoto lens????

This pic makes it look like the observation deck is right next to the launch pad.... it's not that close!!!

You're supposed to say great PHOTOGRAPHER. :rotfl: (I wish!)

I did use a 300mm telephoto lens for the launch pad picture. The launch pad was 1.34 miles distant from where I took the picture.

Matthew

AWESOME!! Love the video! Dave wants to do this because it TERRIFIES him! We are doing it tandem with the girls as well so they can enjoy it. We had to tell Becca it would be just like flying a kite - except that we are the kite! LOLHave your girls ever considered going to space camp?? (I just remember the movie from when I was a teenager....) I would love it!!!
Our friend's daughter won a trip to spacecamp a couple of years ago. She could have gone for a week, I think, but traded to have her dad come with her for a weekend. They loved it! They were with us on our WDW trip. Brad was in heaven at Kennedy!!! (Ok, i have to admit it... I would like to go to space camp!!!)

Great minds think alike Heather - I set my printer to print 29 of something this morning before I left to WW, and just prayed it wouldnt run out of coloured ink. Luckily I just made it. I have the low ink symbol on now, but they all came out just fine. Just have to cut them out and wait for Neil to do his part and they'll be finished!

Good luck Karen!! :cheer2:

I have my mother in law visiting this evening around 6.30pm. - I had got all the ironing out ready to do, but didnt get chance, so I'll have to hide it all again:lmao:

We survived!!!! The wedding was beautiful. Ryan and Alisha are in Magic Kingdom as we speak. They called me from Casey's to let me know they were having corn dogs for breakfast. :scared1: With all of the drama leading up to the wedding, the day was perfect for the kids. My Anut and Uncle ( retired Episcopalian minister that married them) were a God send. They kept us under control and ran interference for us. :thumbsup2 By the time the cruise is here all of the none sense will be funny. I will post pictures as soon as I can. I am glad to be back full swing with the bobbers!

Does anyone know if you paid your cruise deposit with your Disney Visa, do you have to use it to pay off the balance? Will we lose any benefits if I pay it off with a check instead?

Mom, you killed the thread. :rotfl:
