Help! Need outline of Mickey's Footprint

When I did this for my dd bday /trip in dec she loved it! I had fun making the things too. I am planning on doing smaller version for guests rooms at our VR in july. I have aready made window signs for them but will add in the welcome ideas too. love the welcome sign dolly! I will probably use "designed character " bags again similar to these from dec for travel purposes....:goodvibes

I just LOVE your bags. The boxes are great for trips in cars (okay SUVs) when you can take everything including the kitchen sink but for trips with planes like WDW...I will definitely take bags and use your ideas for decorating them!

My latest idea...I wanted to try to replicate the "celebrate" banner from Post #23

Here is what it should look like when you put it all together...I also have a "happy birthday", "welcome", "happy anniversary", "bon voyage" and "welcome aboard" banners in my 4shared file::

Here are the two pages. I made two because I thought it should be bigger than just 8.5x11, and the only way to do that is to layer things on it to somewhat stretch it out. They are both 8.5 x 11, save them to your pictures (do not copy and paste into word as it will distort), then print at full size...there is enough white space around the edges it shoud print with no problems. Take make: print, cut out each individual piece and assemble. You could even use pop dots on the hands to give it a 3-d effect.

Dolly,
Would you happen to have a welcome sign for the door something like the one you made for your trip?

I haven't made any "Welcome Signs" for Disney because there are lots of great ones already out there. Natalie has tons that you can add your name to in her 4shared file for WDW or specific resorts. Look in her "Invitations for Personalization" then there are two files where you can find them...either "Welcome to Disney" or "Resort Welcomes". Also look in her "pre-DISigned Invitations...no personalization" file. If you don't find what you are looking for let me know...but I 99.999999999% guarantee you will. Here is a link to her 4shared file:

Dolly,

This is absolutely wonderful and amazing! I am so doing this for our upcoming trip. I am going to do Mickey welcome for my son and it's my Mother's Bday while we are there so I am going to do Minnie for her.

I was wondering if you would help me out with something for it...

I noticied in your Banner letters that you can spell out welcome or happy birthday but I want to do their name's could you make a G and an N for the banners and could you also do a banner triangle that has Minnie mouse on it like the one you have with just Mickey so I can do Mickey on one side and Minnie on the other end of the banner?

Thanks so much. I will subscribe to this thread so I can keep up with all that you add...this is magnificent!

I make my DISigns using photoshop elements. To give the balloons the 3D effect...I created the balloon (making sure that it is all one layer) and the color I wanted it to be (like blue). Then go to "layer styles" and "glass buttons" and click on the "translucent glass" button so that your color will still be the same but it will give it a 3-d effect.

You can also play around with the "wow plastic" in the "layer styles". When I do that...I generally copy the layer and in the copied layer I use the "wow plastic clear" button.

Have fun playing with it and try different things.

Ok, I am helpless, where is the "layer styles" button/option at? Beyond that I can't find the "glass button" or "translucent glass" but I am guessing that's because I can't find the layer styles option.

Dolly, I would like to start by saying that I absolutely LOVE this thread! I have been trying to come up with a Welcome Surprise for my daughter that includes the fab 5, but I was having trouble planning it. Well, this thread has cured that. You have so many wonderful creative ideas! I'm wondering if you can come up with tags from Pluto and Daisy like the others you designed? Thanks for sharing your creativity with us less fortunate. :love:Becky

Glad that you like my DISigns and are able to use them to make your trip magical! Look in my 4shared file in the "Mickey's Welcome" file for more things. Also, check out the "disney invitation & coupons" file for coupons that you can incorporate in with the surprise.

Since Pluto doesn't talk like Mickey and the rest of the gang and is an actual pet, I figured I would just put his paw print. Although...he does sign autographs...kind of a conundrum.

Just heard about a new product (at least for me) it is called "dorm" tape and is supposed to be great for hanging things like the balloons and celebrate banner that I made on walls so that you can easily remove the tape when you leave. You can also find "poster strips" from 3M.

Also look for 3M products with "command strips" like hooks to hang things...for example, stockings if you are going around Christmas. They are supposed to stick and hold to walls. Then when you leave you pull the "strip" off and the hook comes down easily without ruining the walls or paint.

I love this and would love to incorporate it into our next trip. We're going to Universal in June. I would love it if someone could come up with something like this for the Universal characters.

Not sure what you are wanting...but if it is tags for gifts...look at padisneyfour's bags as she made tags that turned out super cute and are easy to make yourself. Open up a word document (or whatever you use). Then insert a picture that you find online by googling their name and add whatever word or saying you want on the tag. Then print and cut out in a tag shape and use a paper hole punch to make a place to slide your ribbon through. I use MS Word all the time to make quick tags for birthday party gifts. The shape for tags is pretty easy to free hand as it is just a rectangle with little triangles cut out of the top two sides to add some interest. If you aren't good at free hand trimming. Print one of the tags on this thread and use it for a template.

If you have MS Word and need instructions for how to insert pictures and move them around on a page or set up text boxes...check out this thread:

Wow, this is terrific (and a new product for me too). I have been trying to figure out how to hang things up w/o hurting the paint and this will be perfect!

Thank You!

I want to make my 2 nieces each a welcome basket, but would love it to be with a princess theme. Can you do some of these in a princess disign?

I know I am getting obsessed now!! I have a huge binder of planning finished and now I am looking for other disney project to keep me busy till May! :wizard:

When I get time I will make some "princess" things and post them in my 4shared account in the "Mickey Grand Welcome" file. I recently made some Tinkerbell items and a new striped banner that says "welcome" and "happy birthday". You can find them in my 4shared file in the link in my signature then look in "Mickey's Grand Welcome" file.

What a wonderful thread. Thank you all so much for both the ideas and the beautiful execution of the ideas! I'm planning a trip to disney in Dec 2010, and I wanted to do a Grand Welcome but it's just so expensive! Now I can do it myself! We're staying at BCV (never stayed there before and I can't wait), and we're celebrating DD2's first trip to disney and my nephew's 12th Bday.

Thanks again!!

Kristen

No rush on the princess things, we aren't going till May!! it seems like it will NEVER get here!!
