im sorta afraid to try online checkin for fear it'd lessen our chances of the bldg i requested (Ducks - close to ASMu bus stop) and bedding (King):confused3. I have no idea if this is valid concern or not though as many times ive not received my requests @ the resort....always just happy to be there!

i probably could've used better term than 'quickie' in same sentence as DH lol still can't believe no kids, will be odd to be able to pace ourselves.

I haven't looked at your thread yet but I have to say, I was worried about the same thing! I didn't do it on our last trip, thinking maybe we'd get an upgrade at the Poly b/c it was our honeymoon! Well, I didn't get an upgrade but I did get the building I requested...

Well this time we stayed at POR and I requested like 5 buildings because it's so big and I didn't want to be lost in the woods! I took a chance and did online check-in and was SHOCKED that when we got there, we were told we were in building 14!! (Which was at the top of my building request list!) Now I don't know if it was just coincidence or if it worked out better because our room was assigned in advance.....

Just got home about two hours ago......took a minute from unpacking and laundry to check the boards!

We did online check in for the first part of our stay at Pop. I did get my requests, upper floor in the 80s section. However, we had booked two rooms and we wanted them with all double beds instead of a king and two doubles which is what they had us down for. We were able to change rooms and still stay in the 80s upper floor even though we did online check in. So, if you do it and don't like what you get, just ask - and maybe they can change it.

We did not do online check in for our last leg...AS Sports. We did get our request - football section upper floor and again were assigned the King bed and the second room with two doubles. They were not able to switch anything, because they just did not have two connecting rooms with four doubles.. it worked out fine in the end though.

We are back! Got back late last night. Trying to catch up reading the boards but between unpacking, laundry and dealing with the post disney blues...it will take awhile!
A couple of random thoughts
1) Frogg Toggs chilly pads were awesome. They kept up cool when the sun and heat finally came out on Wednesday. We kept them in ziploc plastic bags when not in use. The plastic bags kept them moist so they didn't dry out in the heat. We would rewet them in water fountains, sinks, etc... Saw many people looking at them when we were using them!
2) The weather was great! We had a great day on Mon 7/5 cloudy and little drizzle all day. Great day in MK - low crowds did a lot! Actually made it for rope drop - first time in 5 years!
3) WL is still awesome and Club Level was even better. It will be hard to stay w/o anymore. I think we have decided that WL is the resort we like the best.
4) Crowds were manageable - EXCEPT for the the Brazil tour groups. OMG! We have never experienced them before and they were everywhere. By the second day we found ourselves looking for them and trying to outrun them to different attractions. DH encountered their FP runner many times and was so annoyed when he got stuck behind them and they were getting hundreds of FP at one time. Drove the time up considerably! One time we were going to Space Mountain to use our FP and we saw the long snaking line making its way to the FP return and we bolted to get in ahead. When we were in the loading area of Space Mountain we looked back at the FP line that was now completely full from the Tour group!
5) The Quick service plan is a lot of food! Especially when combined with the Club Level offerings! We felt like we were constantly forcing ourselves to eat. We had 2 counters and 9 snack options left unused! And that was after we went to the Main St Bakery and Roaring Forks to buy as many snacks as we could fit in a bag that we took on the airplane last night. We came home with - 2 cinnamon rolls, 2 chocolate croissants, 1 chocolate-chocolate chip muffin, 1 bread pudding, 2 huge brownies, 2 magic bars...It was awesome this morning. I ate the cinnamon roll and imagined myself in the Magic Kingdom. We also bought sandwiches for the plane ride.
6) Last thought for now...LOVE the verizon app - Mobile Magic! We used it nonstop!! It is the best thing ever invented. I am so glad I was able to use it on my phone! I subscribe to TGM (which is awesome for planning) and then I also bought RideMax - which was cool to play with before the trip but in reality didn't use. Mobile Magic couldn't be beat.
There is lots more to say, but don't want to go on and on...questions ask away!

1. Ok, so where can I get these in a store? I thought about getting them, but wasn't sure how well they really worked. Now I'm convinced and it's too late to wait for shipping :lmao: Oh, and how big are they? Thanks!

2. So glad you had great weather! :thumbsup2

3. We've never stayed there and it's on our list of ones to try. I hope I don't offend anyone who likes it, but the main reason we haven't yet is the room decor. The bedspreads just turn me off. The rest of the place is gorgeous!! :)

4. Oh great! This has been a thorn in our side EVERY summer! There have been so many threads about it and they always get closed because people really speak their minds about how annoying it is. I even wrote to Disney and I know they realize the problem. I think if they had them travel in smaller groups it would be so much better!

5. Good to know!!! This is the first time in 3 years we aren't staying CL and we've never had the DDP or the QSDP for those exact reasons. Although, HAVING to bring all those yummy treats back home wouldn't be so bad ;)

6. YIPPIE!!!! I got this about a month ago and I've had so much fun playing with it at home. I can't wait to use it in the parks :) :)

I can't wait to get to WL in 8 days.

Debbie, you really make me want to be there now. I am glad that you had a fantastic time. Sorry about the tour groups. I am hoping they are not bad when we get there. If they are, my plan is to try and run in the opposite direction. We were there last year at the same time, and although we saw them a few times, they never really bothered us. I hope this holds true this year too.

SRUalmn, you are not insulting anyone, the bedspreads at WL are ugly. But to me, the rest of WL is so nice that the bedspreads are the least of my concern. I just toss them in the closet when we get there anyway. I never use hotel bedspreads (eww!!! :rotfl2:)

Today, we didn't do much Disney planning. I took the kids to the playground for a while. We are trying to get my DD 20 months to stop using a paciifer. (maybe before a big trip is not the best time??) She is horrible about it. Won't sleep without it and cries and screams. She only gets them at night and nap time, but I am just at the end of my rope. I think she is teething too so maybe this truly isn't the best time. My DS almost 4, never used pacifiers, switched to a cup effortlessly, so I am not use to the screaming and the crying. I told my husband if we had our DD first, I think we would only have one child. Geez. I hope she is not a pain in Disney. Last year she was so easy to cart around. My mom will be with us so hopefully, it won't be so bad. :confused:
 
With everyone coming home, I just can't wait to go now!

And Brazillian groups. Somehow I had forgotten about them. I will just remember (like I did in March) that if they try to push me off of my place for the parade, I stay there.

Thanks Nikki! Yes, we made it in plenty of time. I am actually dropping her off at practice soon. This place is quite excited about the filming. They are not allowed to have any cell phones, cameras or anything while they film tomorrow.

It was so great seeing you again! We had an awesome time on the cruise. Thanks again!!!!!

The chilly pads I got through Ebay, there were a few outdoorsy stores listed on their websites as selling them. I found the shipping to be really fast on Ebay.
Regarding WL decor - it's funny you mention the bedspreads because one day I was in the room resting and I thought - man the wallpaper border and bedspreads really need to be updated! I didn't remember them being so ugly! ;) We stayed at Coronado last September and for some reason I thought of the Coronado when I was looking at the wallpaper border. It's all good, though! :)

OK two things I forgot to mention...
1) We did the Firewords dessert party on 7/8. It was awesome!! There weren't alot of people there. The desserts were on the same lower level that we were seated on. There were a ton of desserts! I decided after the party that you weren't paying to eat but for the total experience. It wasn't hot where we were seated and they had ceiling fans on so the air was circulating. It also didn't feel crowded! It was nice to be able to walk around until it was close to the fireworks time and then show up at the noodle station for your assigned seat. We were able to check in around 8:45 (10pm fireworks)...get our wristbands and assigned table number and then could come back when it got closer to 10pm. DS and DH were happy that they could squeeze in another ride on Buzz! They had a Photopass photographer at the party - that was a nice surprise. Our table was above where Tink flies - that was really cool. The one thing I didn't like was that although every table had a good view of the fireworks everyone got up and stood by the railling. Our table was near the railing so we just slid our chairs over a little...then all of a sudden everyone went for chairs and put them next to the railings. The CM's were not happy - told everyone to put their chairs back, not allowed to have them near the railing. However, if your table was near the railing then you could slide it over a little! When the fireworks started it was all good - everyone had a good view!
2) We also did the Wildlife Discovery Excursion...Awesome! Worth the $50pp! We were out on the savannah for an hour. The van was air conditioned and it kept us cool - even though all the windows were open. There were 11 people(including the three of us) on our tour. We did the 10am tour. If you are a staying CL I would definitely recommend it! I got some amazing pictures.

So we did the trip reveal to Gabby this weekend. We had been at the mall all day because we went to an early movie and looked for trip clothes for she and her dad.

When we came home there was a note tapped to the door saying a package had been left on the back porch. We went to get it and she saw it was red box and was excited that it was for her..
When she opend the box a princess balloon came out with an enevelope attached. She read the invite and I don't really think it was clicking to what it was saying...so I explained it a bit to her..then it clicked..
I think she was a bit tired so I didn't get the whole scream and jumping that I was expecting, I admit I was a bit disapointed...

She went through the box and looked through all the things that were in there and then it started to sink in...
She kept saying "Mommy you did all this for me Mommy you made this for me" " This is so nice" " Soo this is what you have been doing in the office, I thoughtyou were doing work" "Thank you mommy"

She went through all of the things in box and sat and just looked through her autograph book looking at all the charachters, saying how nice it was..running to show her dad and me..

That touched me and made up for any screaming and jumping that was not made..I knew she was excited and more importantly appreciated when I had done...

We went to my Aunts house later and she told everyone she was going to Disney and told them about the stuff I made..

Before she went to sleep, she said "we go to disney in 13 days right?(I made her a countdown calendar)I am so excited"

That made me very happy

I remember them saying that about the chairs near the railing last summer. One lady next to us had her 2 kids standing on chairs up against the railing and she was kind of annoyed, but understood that the CMs had to worry about safety first and anyone with a chair near a railing would have a chance of falling over it and into the water. I'm assuming that's why they say no chairs up there.
 
A Letter to Whom Ever Controls Time:

Dear Sir/Madam;

Those who are attending our much anticipated trip to Walt Disney World on the 13th are growing impatient. Is there any way you could speed up the time and make it Tuesday morning already and then on Tuesday slow down time so we can fully savor our trip into the parks? Normally I'm not one to ask for time to be sped up (ok I admit those last 3 month's of each pregnancy I was begging for it but that doesnt count!) but this is of the utmost importance! I have pictures to take, memories to make and joy to be had. I want to see the sparkle of imagination and laughter dance across my daughter's eye's every day! I want to hear my one year old call out to Mickey Mouse as only she can in her sweet pixie voice. I also want my dear Dis friends to have the same experiances. We just want you to push the clock forward a tad bit! What harm could it do?
