What at WDW makes you cry and why?

I get giddy to the point of tears when we get on PoC for the first time each trip. My favorite ride and it just epitomizes (sp) WDW to me.

Illuminations - every time.

The leaving isn't the saddest part for me - it's the last full day that makes me sad. Just a hard day to have fun, IMO..

Agreed. When you look at how much it costs to go to a movie for two hours, a full day at Disney is very reasonable IMHO.

Just for comparison sake, I can go to King's Island here in Ohio and get rides (real rides), parades, fireworks, etc., etc. for $35.99 for one day vs. $87.33 for one day at WDW. Not to mention that WDW attendance is down 7% for the past three months and that's WITH FREE DINING. Don't get me wrong - I still love WDW (going again in January) but there's a reason they have to have so many discounts and specials.

I think that something being a good deal or not is very subjective. My biggest expense every trip is WDW passes. They are certainly worth it IMO but they are still tough to pay for. But this is OT...

It is not only passes. Those of us who is not local have to get to Orlando somehow, live somewhere and eat, so count all of this and even with extremely budgeted trip it will be over the top per day/per person. Definitely not a cheap vacation, no matter how you look at that.

Wishes. . .gets me every time, even when it's just the music playing in the car

The music on Soarin

Walking into Main Street at the start of our trip

Leaving Main Street (always the last stop) at the end. And then I cry all the way home to Scotland on the plane because I don't want the trip to be over :rotfl:

I am tearing up right now because my beloved PI is not the same it used to be :( WAAAAwaaaaaWaaaaa :sad2: (well not literally)

My ex mother-in-law loved and collected hand blown ornaments from Germany. She passed away in 2004 at the young age of 49. Sure I did not like her son, however, I LOVED my mother in law. She took over the role of my own mother, she was a role model of mine, and a great friend.

So when I see those hand blown ornaments I tear up or downright start bawling.

I swear I married her son just to have her as my mother-in-law! :rotfl:

I love and miss you very much Debbie :flower3:

Seening the Castle for the first time, Wishes, yes leaving makes me cry.
Also sometimes when I ride the Monorail. (was my mom's dream to ride it...and she never got to)

Oh I understand why you would tear up on the monorail. I am tearing up for you just thinking about it. A very simple dream that never comes true is just tragic :(

When Belle says "I Love You" in BatB show at DHS.

The American Adventure...specially the film at the end.

When we first took our adopted daughter to the MK. She didn't know what to expect and it was magical.

While Mrs Conan was on chemo and ever since, Wishes just gets me.

There is nothing that makes me cry more than on the last day when you are checking out of the resort, only to see another family giddy with excitement on their way in.... It's tears of sadness for you, because you don't know when you'll be back and it seems to have flown by. On the other hand.. tears of happiness for another family just beginning their magical trip.

Since we went there quite often, always knew we will be back shortly so the only thing that would make me cry is the credit card bill.

The parades- I always sit in the handicapped section with my son- he has Down Syndrome(very lucky)- the kiddos that are terminal-Oh I am teary now!
Just watching them enjoy such magic! Thank you to everyone that has ever passed me a tissue or napkin!

Of course Wishes- wish I still had my mom and dad:love:

Wishes. Every time. Sometimes Illuminations as well- the song "Promise" in particular after the show.

When my 3 kids saw the castle for the first time---the look on their faces was magical!

When ODS and DD were chosen for the Lion King show, and DD was singled out by Timon :lovestruc (and the fact that we have it all on video makes me even happier!)

We are headed to the world again in 9 days, and I can't wait for the kids to see the castle lit for Christmas, and all the other holiday things. It will be a first for the whole family :) And I can't wait to see DH's face when he sees the Osborne Lights for the first time :cloud9:

Not only that, but the trip is a surprise for the kids, so I will probably cry when we tell them the morning we leave, and they start jumping around and hugging each other!

Wishes and seeing the castle for the first time. Wishes cause I was there with my DH and DS. The castle cause I have always wanted to go. I am sure when we go IN August i will tear up again with the castle and wishes since I will have 2 more kids with me plus my parents who have never been on a vacation like this because my mom refused to fly.

As so many have said....my last day as I'm leaving. As I walk from Main Street under the railway, beside the lockers, I just go to pieces :sad1:

Last year was my 7th trip, and believe it or not was the first time I saw the MK opening ceremony, and on our first day too. Oh, I blubbed like a baby! It just seemed to embody so much of WDW ethos for me. Doing that again in January when we go back!

Illuminations. Always.
