Basking in the Glow of the (not so) Creepy Clown -2/11-Pictures, Final Thoughts, PTR!

Thankfully, while I like the Dooney bags, they aren't really my thing. :duck: ;) Well, they aren't my thing because of the price tag attached, I don't like them enough to pay that much...does that make sense? I'm sure it does because you are a frugal gal like me! Really though, I would spend that much on a bag if I LOVED it. I'm also in total "Mom of a Toddler" phase of my life, so all my bags are cheap and years old. I really should treat myself to a new bag though! I can't remember the last time I bought a decent one!

Well, I love your purchases. I really want that CD..and that scarf! :lmao: I love the more subtle Mickey merchandise they have now. So sad for your last day...but you're going back really, really soon! :woohoo: Personally, I thought you had a pretty laid back trip. You seemed to have very few pre-set plans, which I'm not so sure I could handle. But it sounds like you had a great trip.

Loved your purchases, that scarf is so cute, and I listen to my 4 Parks 1World cd all the time!

I'm glad you and Joe were able to figure out what it was about the trip that bugged him, I know you had to be so upset after you made a conscious effort to not make as many plans and just roll with the flow!

I can't believe Joe & Henry chose nasty old McD's over Chick-Fil-A, what the heck were they thinkin'?!

Thanks so much for sharing another wonderful trip with us! Can't wait to hear about the next one :yay:

Brook, awesome updates. I love your portrait pictures..the family ones are great, and Henry looks just so natural in the sand.

I can't believe you won again. How awesome is that and your purchases were great (pretty scarf).

Henry and Buzz...a boy and his friend. :goodvibes

Oh man...I'd be green with envy!!! But then she could possibly get ME in for free...:scratchin

ZD's are a MUST for this coming trip, it's been a year since I had them. :sad2: I will be sure to get some pretty pics for the thread!

....my, my, my - I must say that's you've got me wrapped up in your yarn about a scary clown, otherwise known as your latest TR....I'll only continue reading if you promise to start reading MINE :snooty: (yup, THERE! I said it - I actually began a NEW TR....;) :teeth: )

BTW ~ you've managed to capture some truly AWESOME pix! And, boy oh boy, how your little man has grown!

Oh my, how I hate that depressing bus ride back to reality. :sad2: And when you don't know when you'll be back, it's even worse. How exciting you will be there again so soon!!

I was behind quite a few updates so some random comments.

George's eyes glow????? :scared1:

Otherwise you just about have me sold on trying BW... if I can pry myself away from BC. :rotfl2:

I can't get over how positively empty the Boardwalk was that Wed afternoon!

Woo hoo for your lucky streak!! :yay:

I loved Via Napoli too. Can't wait to eat there again. :thumbsup2

I don't think I have ever been on the train in the MK! I may have to give that a whirl!

Love, love, love the pictures from your portrait session!! :goodvibes

I'm sure there was more but I've forgotten now. I :lovestruc your TRs!!!

I have the 4 Parks, 1 World CD too and the Happiest Celebration on Earth CDs that came out before it. Most of it is the same but the Happiest one has some old songs that you can't hear in the parks anymore, which is cool! My favorite song on 4 Parks is the song from Gran Fiesta Tour!! I LOVE that song. I was so disappointed when I found out they were taking the old El Rio Del Tiempo song out as part of the refurb because I absolutely loved that song too but I definitely think making it Gran Fiesta Tour was an upgrade! Thank goodness for park audio....I have the old song on my itunes! :thumbsup2

Aww sad it's over, sorry your last day was hectic...glad your next trip is coming right up!!

YAY for winning AGAIN!! I love the scarf you bought! I remember now seeing this on a MeMom shopping report and meant to ask someone to buy it for me (did they have it in blue too?). I'm gonna mentally note it this time!

Can't wait to hear Henry's thoughts on the trip!

I am really happy with both purchases - I use them both and enjoy them, so they were perfect for me! They have tons of cute scarves, I hope they are still there, I want another!

I have to get the 4 Parks 1 World CD onto my iPhone...not that I get a chance to listen to music very often, but every once in a while when I'm alone on the train....and that would be the perfect soundtrack for my solo time.

I was NOT happy. Joe groaned when I brought it up again last night as I wrote the update, but I'm glad I did! We finally figured it out. I told him already we can do laundry during the day, when it surely won't be as busy, and I will do it at least one of the times. Hopefully that will help in that area.

I know, I know! I couldn't believe they chose McD's over CFA, or any of the other choices! :headache: I get why Henry does - but not Joe. :sad2:

Brook, awesome updates. I love your portrait pictures..the family ones are great, and Henry looks just so natural in the sand.

Henry and Buzz...a boy and his friend. :goodvibes

Thank you Kathy! I was very pleased with the result of the shoot. We just printed a few of them the other day.

I really couldn't believe I won two amazing prizes in two days. What are the odds??? That leftover $50 will come in handy for this trip too!

Isn't that a cute pic of Henry gazing at Buzz with the huge grin? He LOVED that ride! I look forward to riding it again with him!

....my, my, my - I must say that's you've got me wrapped up in your yarn about a scary clown, otherwise known as your latest TR....I'll only continue reading if you promise to start reading MINE :snooty: (yup, THERE! I said it - I actually began a NEW TR....;) :teeth: )

I didn't even realize you had one! YES OF COURSE! (but you are going to finish it this time, right????? ;)) I will get over there ASAP and get caught up. I love your TRs! I am excited to see your pics!! :hyper:

And yes - hasn't he???? These 3 years - some of the days have been sooooooo long, but the years have been short. A cousin of ours just had a little baby who is only 1/2 pound smaller than Henry was, so I got to see a comparison of how big he used to be. Unreal!

Oh my, how I hate that depressing bus ride back to reality. :sad2: And when you don't know when you'll be back, it's even worse. How exciting you will be there again so soon!!

It is the worst when you don't know when your next trip will be! Thankfully I know it's never that far off - we will go back! That does help a little. Though, I'd much rather have a trip on the books!

The train at MK is a cute ride! It's very relaxing and has an awesome breeze on a hot day. There is a little soundtrack and a few sights to see. We really enjoy it - but probably wouldn't normally ride if it weren't for H. He insists on it, of course! But we are glad he does. :goodvibes

I love the 4 Parks 1 World cd. A great trip report Brooke - looking forward to the next one.

Thank you! I'll have a couple wrap up thoughts and pictures from Henry coming later today, and plan to start the PTR tomorrow....or later today if I find the time!

I'd love to hear some of the older songs - even though I wouldn't know them. I might have to look for them on iTunes or something! I really enjoy the 4 Parks 1 World CD, when I hear the opening cords of either CD it just brings a huge smile to my face!

Aww sad it's over, sorry your last day was hectic...glad your next trip is coming right up!!

Can't wait to hear Henry's thoughts on the trip!

It was a bit of a pain the last day was so busy and hectic. It was not at ALL how either of us like to say "good-bye", hopefully we can change that this time around.

I do think they had it in blue...if I remember correctly. If you'd like, I can scope it out this coming trip, FB you the price/pic and you can let me know if you'd like me to pick it up!

....I. wanna. party. with. THIS. chick.

 And she lives close to us both!! Paaaaaaaaaaarty!

I had also meant to mention Brook, that I am in total agreement with you on the Dooney and Bourke bags. I don't get it. :confused3 They are super cute, but that much for a purse? I'll be a lot happier when I get my hands on my replacement Mickeyhead earrings!

It's always nice spending "free" money, that you weren't expecting. I like what you chose! :thumbsup2 Sometimes I have a hard time buying things just for myself and not others so I'm happy you spoiled yourself a little bit. Moms sometimes forget to do that I think. :goodvibes

Bummer on the conversation with Joe on the ME bus. I also would have to make an effort to be more laid back as I like to go, go go. Hopefully next trip there will be no 3am laundry. lol!!!

How sweet that Henry said "home" when he awoke. Love that! :cloud9:

CD's are fabulous souvenirs. ::yes::
I listen to mine in the car when I leave school. It's such a nice escape.

I do not like the leaving part of anyone's trip report. It makes me sad. It's such a draining feeling - leaving the magic and being smacked in the face with the real world again. We always like to have another trip (or maybe even two or three) on the books when we leave. Makes the parting a bit easier. ;)

Two weeks from today, Jill and the girls will be heading here after school.
Two weeks from tonight, I will be doing last minute packing.
Two weeks from tomorrow early morning, we will be up, up, and away toward the magic again! :wizard:

Isnt leaving day the worst? I absolutely hate it and try not to focus on it, but generally before we even get to WDW I am dreading that final day:sad2:

I bought the 4 parks cd on our trip 2 years ago and listen to it a lot! We also have the Spectromagic one and the Wishes one. Love them!

Also love the free money you got! You are such a lucky duck...like I said, we never win anything either...this would have knocked my socks off. Thats great that you have half of that free money for your next trip.:dance3:

I really enjoyed reading your trip report, and cant wait for the PTR and TR that will be coming SOON! Thanks for keeping up in the Disney Magic!

Boo to going home!! :sad2:

But luckily you're going back in two weeks!!:banana:

I have the Four Parks, One World CD too & love it!!

Yep, they had no problem with us wheeling the stroller right in! The other thing we like to do during stroller naps is hit up the thrill rides using the Baby Swap/Fast Passes. Usually in the AM when we first get there we'll grab ONE FP for one of the thrill rides, then walk over to another thrill ride and get a FP with the other adult pass. Then we use Baby Swap pass for the other person. Does that make sense? It's a great way to spend nap time.

That does make sense. We do that sometimes, but it's gotten trickier with having two babies. When we try it, I always like to go first. You never know when someone will wake up.

I think that George has to be sort of scary looking in order to maintain authenticity. I'm believe turn-of-the-century Coney Island was pretty freaky.

Wow, you guys are so lucky this trip! The photo session turned out great. Henry looks very cute in his pictures. I almost want to get a photo session for my boys, now.

I like the new scarf, too. It's very subtle. :thumbsup2

I'm sorry to see your TR come to an end, but it's nice that you get to go back so soon. I'll be looking forward to reading all about it.

I love that you and Joe were able to find some common ground in looking back at what made him frustrated. That will really be a big help, I think, in making the trip more enjoyable for him, and consequently for you too. Yay!!!

You're such a lucky ducky getting to go back so soon! It'll be great to have more Brook report to read!

I had also meant to mention Brook, that I am in total agreement with you on the Dooney and Bourke bags. I don't get it. They are super cute, but that much for a purse? I'll be a lot happier when I get my hands on my replacement Mickeyhead earrings!

They are cute bags---and I particularly like the look of the 40th Anniversary bag. I want to see that one in person. But, I still don't think I will like it enough to pay that much. I have to really want and love something in order to drop serious cash! (like beautiful leather boots...drool ;))

It's always nice spending "free" money, that you weren't expecting. I like what you chose! Sometimes I have a hard time buying things just for myself and not others so I'm happy you spoiled yourself a little bit. Moms sometimes forget to do that I think.

How sweet that Henry said "home" when he awoke. Love that! :cloud9:

We do forget to treat ourselves - that is so very true. I hadn't bought much for myself throughout the trip, despite Joe encouraging me to each time I saw something I wanted, I knew I was going to buy a couple things - and those were the standouts. I planned to pay out my own pocket, but it was MUCH more exciting using free money!

It was a bummer! I was already sad about leaving and then we had THAT conversation. :headache: But, I truly did let it go and was fine. I'm glad we figured out what bugged him, and yes - we will resolve that for this coming trip! I will do at least one of the laundry trips and they will be done during the day!

It was extra special when Henry said "home" because we had just moved here on June 15, so it was less than 2 months of living here at the time, but he recognized it. :thumbsup2 He still does that sometimes now, when the house comes into sight after we've been running errands or something. It's cute.

CD's are fabulous souvenirs. ::yes::

Today I put it on and Henry and I danced. He started to sing the Trolley Song and it was stinkin' cute. And yes! it was a very nice escape listening to those lovely tunes.

I would LOVE to have another trip on the books. I don't think we've ever had that. Right now we do have the NYE room booked :woohoo: but it's not a for sure thing. Plus, our church is having a conference at the Swan in July...so who knows...it will all depend on $$ and a job.

Two weeks!!! Two weeks!!! We don't land until early evening on Saturday, so you'll be a whole day ahead of us! :goodvibes

Isnt leaving day the worst? I absolutely hate it and try not to focus on it, but generally before we even get to WDW I am dreading that final day:sad2:

What else, other than the obvious soundtrack from the shows, are on the Spectro and Wishes CDs? I saw the MSEP one and I was tempted to buy that as well, but now I can't remember what else was on it...just more random park music? Are there a lot of repeats between the various discs?

I am really glad we have that extra $50 for this trip! It certainly comes in handy. Two weeks, even when you have a DVC room and APs, is expensive!

Boo to going home!! :sad2:

But luckily you're going back in two weeks!!:banana:

I have the Four Parks, One World CD too & love it!!

Going home STINKS. I wonder how I will feel after two weeks this time? Even though I LOVE where we live, I still don't think I will want to come home.

That does make sense. We do that sometimes, but it's gotten trickier with having two babies. When we try it, I always like to go first. You never know when someone will wake up.

That is a very good point about the turn-of-the-century Coney Island. And out of all honesty...it's still a tad on the freaky side. Though, they did just refurb it and I haven't been there since...maybe this summer! The Cyclone is a great roller coaster, of which the Kiester Koaster is modeled after. :thumbsup2

We really enjoyed the photo session! I would recommend it to anyone. It was a great and quick way to get some family pictures done. Now printing them and mailing them off to family members is posing an issue. :rolleyes1 I stink at that last step of MAILING! :sad2:

I love that you and Joe were able to find some common ground in looking back at what made him frustrated. That will really be a big help, I think, in making the trip more enjoyable for him, and consequently for you too. Yay!!!

You're such a lucky ducky getting to go back so soon! It'll be great to have more Brook report to read!

Yes, I think it will be too! I was so glad to find what the issue was from last trip. It led into other conversations too about how the trip should go and all that, so great feedback from the hubs all around! :thumbsup2

I am so excited about going back. It feels like September was forever ago. I watch a few videos of Henry talking and he sounds like a little baby in them, his vocabulary has exploded!

Before we completely wrap this up I wanted to share some pictures that Henry took. We brought along his Fisher Price digital camera, but it only made it out of the room a few times. For some reason the pictures are all out of order in my album, so please forgive me of that!

Here is Disney through the eyes of a 3 year old...well...there were about 128 other pictures...but they didn't come out at all. ;)

The DVC pin given at the BLT Tour. We got a handful of these. We kept 3 for ourselves and gave the rest away. I had Henry give one to a little girl on the ME who had a lanyard full of pins on. I guess she had worked REALLY hard to get many exclusive pins, like this DVC one, for years - and then lost her lanyard. :sad2: She had just started up and was trying to get some exclusives their entire trip (her lanyard was full of traders). She was very thankful and her Mom was even teary eyed over it! It was a very sweet moment.

I forgot about this - we got these at the BLT Tour. They had everyone wearing one and we lined up from the oldest member to the newest. It was neat.
