I had also meant to mention Brook, that I am in total agreement with you on the Dooney and Bourke bags. I don't get it. They are super cute, but that much for a purse? I'll be a lot happier when I get my hands on my replacement Mickeyhead earrings!
They are cute bags---and I particularly like the look of the 40th Anniversary bag. I want to see that one in person. But, I still don't think I will like it enough to pay that much. I have to really want and love something in order to drop serious cash! (like beautiful leather boots...drool
)
It's always nice spending "free" money, that you weren't expecting. I like what you chose! Sometimes I have a hard time buying things just for myself and not others so I'm happy you spoiled yourself a little bit. Moms sometimes forget to do that I think.
Bummer on the conversation with Joe on the ME bus. I also would have to make an effort to be more laid back as I like to go, go go. Hopefully next trip there will be no 3am laundry. lol!!!
How sweet that Henry said "home" when he awoke. Love that!
We do forget to treat ourselves - that is so very true. I hadn't bought much for myself throughout the trip, despite Joe encouraging me to each time I saw something I wanted, I knew I was going to buy a couple things - and those were the standouts. I planned to pay out my own pocket, but it was MUCH more exciting using free money!
It was a bummer! I was already sad about leaving and then we had THAT conversation.
But, I truly did let it go and was fine. I'm glad we figured out what bugged him, and yes - we will resolve that for this coming trip! I will do at least one of the laundry trips and they will be done during the day!
It was extra special when Henry said "home" because we had just moved here on June 15, so it was less than 2 months of living here at the time, but he recognized it.
He still does that sometimes now, when the house comes into sight after we've been running errands or something. It's cute.
CD's are fabulous souvenirs.
I listen to mine in the car when I leave school. It's such a nice escape.
I do not like the leaving part of anyone's trip report. It makes me sad. It's such a draining feeling - leaving the magic and being smacked in the face with the real world again. We always like to have another trip (or maybe even two or three) on the books when we leave. Makes the parting a bit easier.
Two weeks from today, Jill and the girls will be heading here after school.
Two weeks from tonight, I will be doing last minute packing.
Two weeks from tomorrow early morning, we will be up, up, and away toward the magic again!
Today I put it on and Henry and I danced. He started to sing the Trolley Song and it was stinkin' cute. And yes! it was a very nice escape listening to those lovely tunes.
I would LOVE to have another trip on the books. I don't think we've ever had that. Right now we do have the NYE room booked
but it's not a for sure thing. Plus, our church is having a conference at the Swan in July...so who knows...it will all depend on $$ and a job.
Two weeks!!! Two weeks!!! We don't land until early evening on Saturday, so you'll be a whole day ahead of us!
Isnt leaving day the worst? I absolutely hate it and try not to focus on it, but generally before we even get to WDW I am dreading that final day
I bought the 4 parks cd on our trip 2 years ago and listen to it a lot! We also have the Spectromagic one and the Wishes one. Love them!
Also love the free money you got! You are such a lucky duck...like I said, we never win anything either...this would have knocked my socks off. Thats great that you have half of that free money for your next trip.
I really enjoyed reading your trip report, and cant wait for the PTR and TR that will be coming SOON! Thanks for keeping up in the Disney Magic!
What else, other than the obvious soundtrack from the shows, are on the Spectro and Wishes CDs? I saw the MSEP one and I was tempted to buy that as well, but now I can't remember what else was on it...just more random park music? Are there a lot of repeats between the various discs?
I am really glad we have that extra $50 for this trip! It certainly comes in handy. Two weeks, even when you have a DVC room and APs, is expensive!
Boo to going home!!
But luckily you're going back in two weeks!!
I have the Four Parks, One World CD too & love it!!
Going home STINKS. I wonder how I will feel after two weeks this time? Even though I LOVE where we live, I still don't think I will want to come home.
That does make sense. We do that sometimes, but it's gotten trickier with having two babies. When we try it, I always like to go first. You never know when someone will wake up.
I think that George has to be sort of scary looking in order to maintain authenticity. I'm believe turn-of-the-century Coney Island was pretty freaky.
Wow, you guys are so lucky this trip! The photo session turned out great. Henry looks very cute in his pictures. I almost want to get a photo session for my boys, now.
I like the new scarf, too. It's very subtle.
I'm sorry to see your TR come to an end, but it's nice that you get to go back so soon. I'll be looking forward to reading all about it.
That is a very good point about the turn-of-the-century Coney Island. And out of all honesty...it's still a tad on the freaky side.
Though, they did just refurb it and I haven't been there since...maybe this summer! The Cyclone is a great roller coaster, of which the Kiester Koaster is modeled after.
We really enjoyed the photo session! I would recommend it to anyone. It was a great and quick way to get some family pictures done. Now printing them and mailing them off to family members is posing an issue.
I stink at that last step of MAILING!
I love that you and Joe were able to find some common ground in looking back at what made him frustrated. That will really be a big help, I think, in making the trip more enjoyable for him, and consequently for you too. Yay!!!
You're such a lucky ducky getting to go back so soon! It'll be great to have more Brook report to read!
Yes, I think it will be too! I was so glad to find what the issue was from last trip. It led into other conversations too about how the trip should go and all that, so great feedback from the hubs all around!
I am so excited about going back. It feels like September was forever ago. I watch a few videos of Henry talking and he sounds like a little baby in them, his vocabulary has exploded!
