Julie & Brian's Disneyland Wedding (9/2011) Sleeping Beauty Theme

Gosh, I'm gone for only a week and I missed so much! Sounds like things are coming together! If you need a dress shopping buddy, let me know .... :rolleyes1 I still need to find one and now that the cruise is done I'm jumping into wedding planning! :scared1:

Yay for our picture!!!!

YAY for our picture! You are back from your Disney Cruise!! I need to get over to your page and read all about it! I know right, I am sure I will need a dress shopping buddy, just need to find the time. ARg! I will let you know as soon as I know when I am thinking of and if you want to go together it would be a blast! :cool1:

So after much consideration we have decided to add two bridesmaids and two groomsmen to our wedding party. My friend Karissa who at first wasn't going to come out and then told me she was pregnant and due like the week after the wedding has really stressed an interest now. We found a maternity dress that is very similar to the other dresses that she can wear.

I also wanted to include one of my off and on again best friends. We were best friends when I was 16, then I moved. We were roomies 3 years ago and had a falling out, but have been back on good terms over the past year. Ever learn that you can't live with a best friend when you are too much alike? She was initially going to be a bridesmaid and now after the turmoil has passed and we have grown older and wiser, she has agreed to take part also. She will be using Karissa's original dress, just having it altered a bit.

Lastly, Brian's cousin Briana has finally declared that she and her husband are going to make it out here. They live in Groveland near WDW in Florida. I am really glad that she will be a part of the wedding party. For a while she was like a little sister. She will be in green. We are getting her a similar but not matching dress from AA. Now it will be pink, blue, green, pink, blue green as the color scheme. The last blues (Karissa and her bf Ryan) will walk down the aisle and then be seated since she will be very pregnant and it will be very hot.

I read about the size of the bridal party as I was afraid it was getting too large and many sites including Emily Post's stated that nowadays, there is not a specific size, it is your wedding so keep those nearest and dearest to you in the bridal party. I feel really blessed to have these girls and I didn't want to exclude them even if the gazebo does get a little crowded. One of the cons is the added expense of the floral and gifts, but it isn't that bad really, so I am running with it! :)

Of the guys DF has invited his cousin Matthew (Briana's brother) and my brother Joe to join him. There is a nice mixture of family and good friends on both sides!

Wow, I feel honoured that you took the time to read through my PJ! Wow, I can't wait to get to say I have been married to my love for 15 years. Congratulations on your vow renewal!! Autumn is a magical time for weddings/vow renewals. There are a lot of good ideas on the DISboards, I don't know where I would be without everyone's creativity!! I am so glad that you are interested in a DL wedding, I always adore those at WDW, but it was too far from home. If you love WDW and have never been to DL, I say put it on your bucket list. I have had many guests at the park (when I worked there) that had only been to WDW. The castle is MUCH smaller. In fact one guest asked where the other castles were, LOL. It is also really neat to see the nostalgia and the fingerprints of Walt Disney himself as this was where he worked and sometimes lived. :)

Oh yes! It's on my bucket list.

Thank you, yes the gift of time has been so amazing! Things are starting to fall together, but there is so much to do still and I am so worried that time is going by too quickly!

OOh I am excited for you! Are you doing Breakfast or Dinner at 1900?

We are doing a dinner. I am excited to see the Stepsisters and Madam Tremaine. I heard they were campy and hillarious!

I wish they had Mary Poppins and Penguins instead of Alice there for Breakfast, but c'est la vie!

Le Vie!

I just checked out your e-pics and they are wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing them. I can't wait to see your wedding pics! You two are an absolutely stunning couple!

Thank you so much :lovestruc I forgot how wonderful those pictures come out so thank you for making me revisit :cloud9:

No dress as of yet, going to a shop hopefully next week to look at the Disney Cinderella dress. I know I am cutting it close with the dress issue and it is driving me crazy!!

Right now we are looking at wedding bands and I am going to see our friend who owns a salon. She has offered to do my wedding day hair as a gift! I am so excited, I am thinking about getting extensions so my hair will still be down to my waist while being curled. I don't know who I am going to hire to do my hair at 5:30 the day after for the photoshoot! :scared1:

The floral is still being figured out by Disney, but we sent a powerpoint to our contact and she seemed to like it. I really like this for the bridal bouquet. Light pink and white roses only, with crystal and pearl accents.

DF saw the small centerpieces at the bridal show and he REALLY prefers them to the candelabras I chose. I may cave on that, especially if it is a huge price difference. Right now it is 2,000 for the candelabras and floral, I am hoping the others will only be around 750, then I will agree 100% ;)

Figuring out which candy we are purchasing and coming up with themed names. Next week I also want to work with Impressions and order our table name signs and work on the invites...so yeah craziness!

Can't wait to have a DISmeet with you!! My Aurora kindred spirit![/COLOR]

I loveee hair extentions! I have done them so much I now do them myself all the time for occasions. I have even done some fun highlight colors with them. They are so fun! How awesome of your friend to do that for you  And its ok if you don't hire someone to do your hair for the photophoot. Honestly you have been doing your hair for how many years now? lol, I am sure you can manage something beautiful! :thumbsup2

And don't stress on the dress. It needs to be perfect for you, and stressing will just have you choose something that is ok instead of stunning because your in a hurry. Don't settle. Take your time and just serch for THE ONE! Trust me you'll be happy you did.

The bouquet is beautiful! You should put little hidden mickey crystals in it as well :wizard:

:rotfl: I have a feeling DF is going to convince you lol

Candy should be fun, and let me know if you need help with the themed names

Yay I am excited fo ryou how its turning out :cheer2:

And yes, DISmeet soon :grouphug:

I have never had hair extensions, so I am a little worried. I was told that individuals are good, also to be cautious of whether they are plastic or metal beads. I would love to have the know how to do them myself. But I am so not good with hair or make-up on account of me growing up with boys and being a big tomboy. Hence also needing someone to assist me for the day of the photoshoot, otherwise I will be a hot mess, LOL. I am very blessed that our family friend is willing to assist. She actually owns a salon in Burbank and is well known for doing celebrity hair. I know she has worked the oscars the last few years. I totally trust her!

I am totally taking your advice on the search for the perfect dress! Hoping that everything will come together as it should.

Hidden Mickey crystals sound fun! I know they are doing a pearl HM on the wrap...I will have to see what they can come up with ;) Oh and we are doing a rose dedication to our families, my parents and his family for their support, and I was thinking of having white roses pixie dusted, do you think that is too childish?

Actually DF may have had a really cool idea about those cheaper, smaller centerpieces, more to come ;) Yes he should be allowed some things he likes, poor thing he lets me have everything my way.

I may need assistance with some of the candy, I will try to post what I have so far soon

Thanks for all your cheerleading!!:cheer2:

Your wedding sounds like a dream! I cannot wait to read more.

I love the jewlery choices, and I think your DF's centerpiece choices will be surprising good...just a feeling :goodvibes

I agree about the dress. Dont stress out and just let it come to you. Good things take time and you dont want to make a decision on a rushed mindset and regret it later. Are you buying or renting your dress?

The bouquet is beautiful and I love the pearl touches it has! Did you post your e-ring? I would love to see it (or let me know what page its on if I missed in :( )

I might have to steal some ideas from you I love this!!! But dont worry I will proclaim you credit (most likely when I am stumbling around at the reception pointing out where I got my ideas for all the awesome things  )

And a word about extensions: They can be fun a beautiful but they are VERY damaging unless you do clip ins. Glue ins pretty much pull out and break off your hair and a weave is just so painful. Just do your research before you decide!!!

Aurora&Prince - I think Julie is right and it is 'la vie' and not 'le vie' ;)

Don't let anyone tell you how many attendants are "proper" - you can do whatever you want!!! Even have no attendants, heh.

Dress shopping would be so fun! You need to get cracking, missy! Your wedding is just around the corner! :scared1:

Oh I wasn't meaning to correct her haha.

Whenever me or my friends say the saying it sounds like "Say la Vie" so we always repeat "la vie" as a joke cause your telling them to "say" it hahaha. Sorry I guess that was too much of an inside joke :rolleyes1 and the "le" was merely a typo on my part. jees I really messed that up! Thats what I get for trying to be funny haha

Aww sweetie - Sorry I didn't get the joke!!! Reading my post back, it sounds rather uppity!! I didn't mean to come across like that al all. It is so difficult to get yourself across acurately when you do not have the benefit of body language to help you!!! ;)

Thank you hun. Did I tell you originally we were going to do an in park wedding, but it is limited to 50 people including bridal party. We looking into it in 2004 (when we were engaged) and it was only 34,000 base for in park, now it is over 100,000. The early morning option is good, we almost did that, but decided it was too early and it wasn't very kind to our guests, then they suggest you wait to have your reception until afternoon and it was just too stressful. I want to be able to take the time to get ready etc, not while it is dark out. The in park photoshoot is a great option for some amazing pictures.

Your wedding sounds wonderful, very briar rose!!princess: Glad you are able to do the reception in DCA, it is coming along so nicely. I think they will work with you to do custom displays. ;)

Thank you, I hope the jewelry will come together with whichever dress I end up with. I agree, DF has good ideas often, I think we are in agreement. If it saves almost a grand, that can go towards the Disneymoon!!

I definitely want to purchase my dress. The place that made Kendra's dress (girls next door) is around the corner from my house. R-mine on Ventura Blvd. I am sure they are too pricey, but I have thought of going to get a quote at least. I really want my Aurora dress waah!

Haven't posted the actual ring yet, still needs the center stone put in from our jeweler, Brian's accident has set us back a bit. In earlier posts I mentioned how my original Ering was stolen and this is a new one. Looks like a rose to me! :)

Thanks, I love the floral too!! No worries, take whichever ideas you like, that is what makes this board fun and helpful. New ideas! ;)

Good to know about extensions, :scared1:

I know right, it is freaking me out a little, I need more time and more money!! Geesh! Working full time has its benefits, but I miss doing wedding stuff during the week. I will have to take a day off and check out dresses, ASAP. What days are you free? I will have to call/text you once I get my schedule sorted. :yay:

You are sweet for reaffirming that I did the right thing in including all my closest family and friends in the wedding party. I just hope I can organize everything properly, LOL

I didn't take it as a correction, I like that! I think I will start saying that also, ;) It is funny, just easier to get in person. I hate that typing and computers can change what we are actually meaning because there isn't any inflection, body language etc. One downfall to technology. Cute tho! :rotfl:

No, you didn't appear uppity, agreed it is tres difficile to get yourself across accurately online sometimes. Body language def helps!! ;)

Yay, my Sleeping Beauty earrings actually arrived. I had doubts, but they are gorgeous. I am so excited. The odd thing was that they shipped from Canada, hmmm. Maybe that is the only place that had them left, or maybe that is the Kirstie Kelly homebase? Anyway, I am super excited. Just waiting on my necklace now, hope they go together nicely. ;) I will post pictures later tonight when I get back from running errands

No worries! You didnt come off uppity. I understand the miscommunication. The vocal aspect sure helps too haha. :thumbsup2

Yay for your earings!!! Once you get your necklace in you should post a pic of you wearing them together :cutie:

Received an email from Traci about the construction schedule and the name changes at the hotel from the refurbishment. Turns out the new monorail pool will be opening this Summer! YAY!! Also, the Dreams lawn is becoming the Adventure Lawn...meh, not very creative, but whatever. The dressing rooms will soon have new names also. The good news is that the Sleeping Beauty Pavilion and the Rose Court Garden as of now are not scheduled to have a name change, whew! I am really glad about that Pavilion, LOL.

Do you know if they had Belle earrings/necklaces? Do you mind sharing the website?

Girl, I walk by R Mine all the time and I always want to go in! I'll go in with you, even just to find out exactly how outrageous their prices are!
