Reservations? We don't need no stinking reservations, we do it TODD'S way! COMPLETE

The cinema/eating experience sounds so cool!

How much did the tickets cost? Did you pay for the food separately?

That family on the bus sounds horrendous! I can't believe they were able to get away with that kind of behaviour on a Disney bus - and that the driver did nothing!

Sad you are coming to the end :sad2:

Wait and see how Mark and I like Raglan.
I like Raglan the one time I ate there. I'd consider giving it another try if I were you Nicki, since Nine Dragons was so much better the second time. But I know how hard it can be to go back somewhere after such a horrible experience.

That theatre sounds so neat!!! The family on the bus, not so much. ugh. Wonder if the drivers are told to do nothing up to a certain point and then call security? People like that sound dangerous if confronted.

Hmmm.....dinner and drinks? A Poly walk-in??? :worship:

I don't want your TR to end, Nicki!! :sad2:

(as for PT with Rosie on our birthday trip - me thinks we'll be avoiding anywhere she can get into TOO much mischief!!:rolleyes1 :rotfl: )

Once at the Poly we got back into our Disney groove and instead of going straight to MK (it was now 4) we decided to chill at the Tambu Lounge...isnt that a great idea?

We sat in front of the window and there wasnt a soul around until 4:45 when the Ohana people started lining up.

It was so nice just sitting there, cooling off and getting tipsy :rotfl:

Todd decided he wanted a Chocolate Martini...he has never had one before and the description really intrigued him. Stoli Vanilla Vodka, Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, White Creme de Cacao and Frangelico. He loved this and I had a sip too and it was incredible! He had 2 and they disappeared very fast!

I had the Red Grape Sensation...I told the server I wanted something cold and refreshing so she recommended this. It was sooooo good! Rain Organics Red Grape Hibiscus Vodka, Cranberry Juice, Agave Nectar, freshly squeezed lime juice topped with soda water. It was delicious! I had 2 as well and I could have had a third one but we had a park to get to!

While we were sitting there slurping up our tasty cocktails the topic of dinner reared its ugly head.

Me: So whats the deal?

Todd: I dont know what you are talking about (slurp slurp)

Me: Really? Cuz I can hear your stomach growling from way over here.

Todd: Ha ha, you are a laugh a minute. I was thinking we would go to Tonys and have calamari

Me: Oh you were, were you? You do know that is never gonna happen right pal? Why dont you just work your magic and get us in Ohana?

Todd: Why are you such a Debbie Downer on me? Have I let you down yet? And I bet I could get in Ohana but I dont like it there

Uh huh...sure....did he not hear the CM tell a million people there were no openings at Ohana tonight??

Me: Tell you what..if you get us in Tony's I will drive us home but if you dont then you have to drive. (He doesnt like long distance driving and I knew we were not getting in Tonys!)

Todd: Its a deal...but we are getting in!

I wasnt as positive as my hubby but I knew there were lots of great CS choices and since we had a TS lunch I wasnt worried about having one for dinner.

The Ohana crowd was moving in on us and we decided it was time to go to MK. The monorail want full at all and the entrance to the park was very slow too. First stop....getting shut down at Tonys

For real

We went in around 5:30 and the CM told us they were booked. Todd took it like a trooper though, he said to me "We will come back later"

For crying out loud...are you deaf? Did you not hear what she said?

We took the train to BTRR and did a few things over there, took a walk and did a few more things and at 7 we were back at Tonys The entire walk over there I kept telling him what a waste of time this was, we should just go to CHH or Peco Bills..come on, cant I tempt you with a taco salad?

We made it to Main Street, walked right up to Tonys and again he asked for a table for 2...and as I was pulling him towards the door to go we hear

"Sure we could seat you right now, is everyone in your party here?"

And then I hear "Guess you are driving us home"

And that is the reason I got down on my hands and knees and claimed him to be the king of Disney, the reservation God at his finest, the right to my wrong...

And if you believe that I have a bridge to sell you!

We were seated in the far rear of the restaurant and had a great serve and she was very prompt with the Evian water refills...we didnt ask for 2 bottles each but she brought them and didnt charge us for the extra 2. She started us off with hot rolls, butter and olive oil...this was fantastic!

DisneyMay103.jpg

DH was sick of romaine lettuce (duh you had like a dozen caesar salads!) so he had the house salad which was huge and very tasty

DisneyMay104.jpg

We shared the calamari but it wasnt that good, very rubbery and too salty. Normally it is to die for here so hopefully it is just an off night

DisneyMay105.jpg

I had the shrimp scampi without sun dried tomatoes and it was amazing, 7 or 8 huge shrimp that were so tender and the asparagus and pasta...OMG between the two of us we killed off the entire plate.

DisneyMay106.jpg

DisneyMay108.jpg

Todd had the usual, spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta was cooked perfectly but the meatballs were so heavy on the fennel that they tasted like sausage and he didnt like it that much...I on the other hand loved them so we swapped plates for a while.

DisneyMay107.jpg

We skipped out on dessert thinking that we would have something at MK but we were just too full.

The next day was our D Day - Departure Day and we didnt have any plans yet...or should I say I didnt have any plans but the someone else on this vacation did, he just wouldnt tell me yet!

Wait and see how Mark and I like Raglan.

I hope you have a better meal than we did

If you go later in the evening and the entertainment is on it gets L-O-U-D! Real loud.
Suggestions for the area -
Wolfgang Puck's Cafe (gets pretty crowded)
Olivia's (just a boatride away at OKW)
Turf Club (SSR, another boatride, or you can even walk, but that's a LONG walk from the cinemas!)
Boatwright's (another boat ride away ;))
I am thinking of upgrading my ressie at WPC to WPDining room ..... we'll see! ;)

We liked WPC...I was thinking about Bongo's...the menu looks soooo good but the reviews I have read are terrible.

We love the dinner and a show thing. We paid $13 a ticket and the food was separate..for 2 drinks, popcorn and 2 chicken tenders with tax but not tip it was $47

The family was just horrible...they need to keep their shouting matches private! All she kept screaming was "My child is hungry, I need to feed my child" over and over and over again.

I like Raglan the one time I ate there. I'd consider giving it another try if I were you Nicki, since Nine Dragons was so much better the second time. But I know how hard it can be to go back somewhere after such a horrible experience.

I might go back there....I really wanted to like it!

That theatre sounds so neat!!! The family on the bus, not so much. ugh. Wonder if the drivers are told to do nothing up to a certain point and then call security? People like that sound dangerous if confronted.

Hmmm.....dinner and drinks? A Poly walk-in??? :worship:

(as for PT with Rosie on our birthday trip - me thinks we'll be avoiding anywhere she can get into TOO much mischief!!:rolleyes1 :rotfl: )

The movies was a great way to spend the day...we have a few eat in theates in SWFL but none as neat as AMC.

I dont want my reviews to end either...I didnt want the trip to end!

Poor Rosie! ;)

Ok, I bow to Todd! :worship: Wow ...

Our last trip to Tony's in '08 wasn't a great experience but I love Lady & The Tramp so we are trying it again this year for lunch. Curious about the flatbreads on the menu. I have never really cared for their red sauce so I try to stay away from the spaghetti although Todd's did look good! Not a shrimp fan so the other pasta didn't do much for me. Glad you had a good meal and that I already have an ADR there so I don't have to change anything around!

eating crow for dinner sucks !! :lmao: He really makes the whole "getting up at 5 am to be ready for the 6 am go time" look foolish, doesn't he ?

I'm kind of intrigued though by Tonys.... 2 places we haven't gone yet that we're thinking of trying are Ohana's and Tony's. So you hated Ohana's ?? :confused3

Todd just amazes me!:worship:;)

Yep, the F&W schedule comes out in July! Last year we had ADR's for dinner just about every night so we went very light on the F&W stuff. We want to do the exact opposite this time. For sure we're booking a Frunch or two and we're hoping for a good signature dinner event or two. We'd be happy snacking around the world every night for dinner!:goodvibes

I'm not showing this report to Geoff, he'll be convinced we never have to make another ADR :rotfl:

And for DTD, what about Raglan Road? We're kind of in love with the place.

i kept trying to move our Yak and yeti's reservation half and hour later and couldn't. the restaurant was half empty! they told me they leave about half open for walk ins!!
it's a great restaurants. ribs were good, cream cheese wontons for dessert yummy!

Awesome Tony's review! Now I definitely need to add it back in the rotation! Maybe we will try for some of Todd's luck this fall... for an early early supper one night....
Although I really want to try to do some Food and Wine - it will be my first time - but with DD for a short trip hmmm? will have to play it by ear...and get all of y'all's expert help!
hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday...

Great reviews Nicki! I haven't commented yet, but I've been reading them all! Can't believe Todd can get into any restaurant he wants! :worship:

Cali Grill looks so amazing, I would love to go there one day!

And I've never been interested in 50's Prime Time til I read your review, it looks SO good! :cool1:

Mmm, those Godiva chocolate martinis are yummy, I always get a couple on each trip!:)

Oh, I forgot to mention about the Godiva Dark Chocolate Martinis, we had quite a few with dessert this past trip and the best one hands down was at Kouzzina!:thumbsup2

Nicki !!!If Christine thinks not going to 50's Prime Time will stop me misbehaving:rotfl2:All she has to do is take pix :lmao:I'll do the misbehaving !!

Nicki I LOVE Raglan Road , have been there 4 times and always had a great meal !!Service has ranged from fair to excellent with more on the excellent side ! I have had the Chowder twice the Mighty Grill and the stuffed pork , as for desserts OMG to die for !!!

Oh, I forgot to mention about the Godiva Dark Chocolate Martinis, we had quite a few with dessert this past trip and the best one hands down was at Kouzzina!:thumbsup2

Do you think they'd make me one for breakfast?:rolleyes1

I will wait and save my "bow" for Todd when we see you in four months. I CANNOT believe he got you into Tony's. That's another restaurant we have not been to in forever (I'm thinking 2003 was the last time); we always preferred lunch over dinner -- smaller portions and better service. I'm thinking perhaps we need to go back.

And the onion rings at the movie theater. I'm sitting here with an upset stomach (had it all day as did Romeo) and I'm drooling over those darn onion rings.

We were supposed to go to Tony's for dinner on our last night and I dropped it to hang out in SAB instead. I wish we had gone, that pasta dish looks awesome! Shrimp, asparagus and pasta- you can't get any better than that.

50's PTC looks very good too. I love the menu there but we had like an hour wait last year and our waitress was pretty much non existent. We'll have to give it another try though. I love that they offer the mom's best sampler now.

:rotfl: I really REALLY thought Todd had finally met his Disney reservations match! Can't wait to see what surprise he has up his sleeve (an ADR, perhaps??)!!
