The Port Report: Frumpin Around the World with the Bathrobe Princesses :) COMPLETE

Great Prom theme.- I might have to suggest that to our student council president. The ocean dress would have fit into our school's prom theme: The Final Wave...

You and Kristen look beautiful!! Your house has an amazing backdrop for pictures!!

So, now that you don't need to go to school tomorrow, what are you up to?When is graduation?

We piled into the limo and went to one of my favorite restaurants of all time... THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY!
And because I'm a good diser, here is the food picture of my meal:
RED VELVET CHEESECAKE.

24742110150333052247995.jpg

It's honestly one of the best desserts on this planet and I HIGHLY recommend getting it if you ever go to the Cheesecake Factory!

I'm dying, I literally just went to the Cheesecake Factory today (yumm!) before I read your update and ordered the the red velvet. So good!

You all looked so pretty and your dress is absolutely gorgeous! I wanted a white dress last year for my prom but a fuchsia dress stole my heart instead . Glad you had a great last year of high school - just wait, college is 1000 times better! Where are you going to school Jess?

Ooh, I am loving the prom updates! Y'all look so pretty and I absolutely love your hair, Jess. I loved it before in your pics around the parks, but am so envious of it all done up. Sounds like it was a great night!

Prom sounded so much fun! What a perfect night! You girls all looked so pretty. Ah yes I totally agree with you on CF! Their red velvet cheesecake is sooo good!

Glad you had a great last year of high school - just wait, college is 1000 times better! Where are you going to school Jess?

I definitely agree that college is 1000 times better than high school! I'm curious as to where you are going to school as well; I was going to ask but didn't want to be a total creeper. :rotfl:

I know I'm a little late in joining the party here but hey better late than never right? My daughter recommended this TR to me and I am really enjoying it. :)

I've never had the bread pudding from Ohana, but now I'm even more excited to try it in October.

Second Prom looks like it was a lot of fun. I don't think I saw a single Frump in any of those pictures. :laughing

I'm glad you were able to keep finding more and more Disney time before the trip ended. Five minutes from Epcot would be so great.

What a great prom theme! I love your and Kristen's hair and dresses! And it is adorable that your moms are best friends, too.

Glad you had fun! Good luck with graduation! (or has it happened already?!)

Oh that's cool! I have Windows Vista and I just found out I was able to update to that so now I have the Live Version. I don't think it has the same effects as with Windows 7. I wish it did since then my slideshow would be a lot cooler. :/

DVC is always a good reason to go back. I know the person who lent us their DVC points for our first trip goes like every other month. And my mom is talking to her to help with my next trip, so happy I'm going back :cool1:

Probably will. I'm hoping to stay at the Poly so that would be a good ADR if I stay there :thumbsup2 Yeah, she totally should, just go to the patent office put on the Deer Face and go "Yeah, all mine!" LOL

No I might have vista! I don't know it's something like that. You probably do have the same effects if it's Live Movie Maker. It's set up so the clips go vertically instead of horizontally.
And I know right? DVC is wonderful! I wish I had time to go every other month because I totally would! I'm glad she's gonna help you with your next trip!
I have never stayed at the Poly so I hope you get to! That would be wonderful! And haha the deer face. So funnyy.

it looks like a great prom!!! I love how your hair turned out :)

Thank you so much!

Sounds like you had a fun prom! :-) I think this is the latest prom I've seen yet. I don't mean that in a bad way, but I know the prom for my school was like a month ago. I do think it is better though they are during the time when school is going out for the summer. The Deer Face photo is pretty awesome, the cat photo as well, though the deer face one isn't as funny as the ones at Disney where you are being total goof-offs.... Oops, I mean Frumps ;) And that cheesecake looks so good! I hate how whenever I'm near a Cheesecake Factory I never actually go check it out. Looking at your cheesecake, I must go NOW! LOL

It was great! I know our prom was SUPER late... but I liked it because it finished off the year.
Haha I think we like taking animal pictures :rotfl: But I agree.. the Disney ones are the best. And frumpiest!
You need to GO! Cheesecake Factory is like heaven!

Two proms! So much fun! I wore a short dress to my senior prom. I was apparently a rebel.

Random question of the day: do you happen to know who did the candy bar? Did the committee put it up or did they hire someone?

Haha a few people wore short dresses! But generally the style was long this year!
And the school did the candy bar for us! The class president like thought of the idea and talked to the school... and they set it all up for us at the restaurant.

You girls all looked beautiful  I'm so glad I got to come and see you both. Plus I got to stay a little longer and hung out with your Mother and Kristen's Mother ;) They're precious!

Thanks Jess! I am glad you were there too! And I heard you guys had a lovely conversation! They loved you! Ps have fun on your trip that is coming up very soon!!

Everyone looks beautiful!

Thank you!

Sounds like sooooo much fun! I love the theme, sooooo cute! Also so funny that you guys have your prom right after finals, my high school had theirs right around now 2! loved both you and kristen's hair 2!

It was great! And yeah I like doing that! It's a nice reward for all of our hard work! And thank you!

Prom seemed like so much fun! I love all your dresses. For junior prom I had my hair done a lot like yours. I didn't go to senior prom for various reasons, so instead, my older friends and I went to see "UP" and then the Cheesecake Factory. I also went there after graduation, it's like the place to go after big events! I haven't been there since...almost two years. :sad2:

Thank you! Aww that's a really fun night though! I'm glad you did something special in place of prom! It is a great place to go for special events! You'll have to get back there soon!

This is just totally random, but I was just going through your TR again, since I tend to read TRs more than once for some odd reason and noticed I missed one of your real life updates. It was the one for you and Kristen's surprise birthday party and I saw that our birthdays are a day apart from each other. I always have to tell someone when I discover this, since I know like nobody in real life with the same birthday month as me. Mine's May 9th by the way. I just had to say this, just because LOL :confused3

Haha it's fine! Oh my God REALLY!?!? That's awesome! I always tell people stuff like that too! Well happy late birthday! Yayy birthday buddies!

Yay on Kristen getting to come to the prom as well!! Am glad the teacher suggested it.

Love all the pics and it sounds like you all had a great time. I love all your dresses.

Mmm that cheesecake looks gorgeous! :cloud9:

It worked out great!
And thank you so much!
Haha gorgeous is a great word to describe that food. So true!!

Great Prom theme.- I might have to suggest that to our student council president. The ocean dress would have fit into our school's prom theme: The Final Wave...

It's a REALLY good idea! We loved it and everyone was really happy!
Hahaha how true! That theme is pretty cute! I would have dresses up like Ariel!
Thank you so much!
And well... graduation was last night! It was a LOT of fun!! And now that I don't have school... I don't know what I'm doing! Just hanging out with my friends and stuff for now! I love summer!

You guys all look great.

Thank you!

I'm dying, I literally just went to the Cheesecake Factory today (yumm!) before I read your update and ordered the the red velvet. So good!

Hahaha oh my gosh that's crazy! It is so good!
Thank you so much! Haha the same thing happened to me junior year!! I wanted a white one but I bought the one that Kristen was wearing instead! So then for senior year I bought that one and it worked out great!
I hope that college is 1000 times better because high school was AMAZING! And I'll pm you where I'm going :) lol

Ooh, I am loving the prom updates! Y'all look so pretty and I absolutely love your hair, Jess. I loved it before in your pics around the parks, but am so envious of it all done up. Sounds like it was a great night!

Aww thank you so so much! :) It was wonderful!

Prom sounded so much fun! What a perfect night! You girls all looked so pretty. Ah yes I totally agree with you on CF! Their red velvet cheesecake is sooo good!

It was fantastic! And yes I love love LOVE that cheesecake :)

I definitely agree that college is 1000 times better than high school! I'm curious as to where you are going to school as well; I was going to ask but didn't want to be a total creeper. :rotfl:

Haha I'll pm you also :-) I hope I like college too!

I know I'm a little late in joining the party here but hey better late than never right? My daughter recommended this TR to me and I am really enjoying it. :)

Oh hey, you are welcome no matter what! Thank you for reading and I'm glad you're enjoying it!

I've never had the bread pudding from Ohana, but now I'm even more excited to try it in October.

I'm glad you were able to keep finding more and more Disney time before the trip ended. Five minutes from Epcot would be so great.

Haha oh be excited - it's amazing!
Hahaha no, I don't think many frumps were present - if any!
And yes, that was AWESOME! If we were at a resort where we would have to take a bus that wouldn't have worked.

also you and your friends seem like you are really fun to be around.

Haha aww thanks! We have an awesome time together!

What a great prom theme! I love your and Kristen's hair and dresses! And it is adorable that your moms are best friends, too.

Glad you had fun! Good luck with graduation! (or has it happened already?!)

Thank you so much!
And actually graduation was just last night! It was great! I'll update on that soon!

I have been sooo busy and I've missed so much! Actually I've seen all of these updates, I just haven't commented on them!

Our last day is winding down, oh no. :( But lunch was yummy and sooo convenient to the YaCHt Club! :thumbsup2

YAYYY for the cooking success! It was sooo yummy! I can't wait to try the real thing in August and compare them! :goodvibes

PROM WAS SO FUN!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: I am SO SO glad I got to go! The frumps really did go glam! It was such a fun night! And of course that red velvet cheesecake just made all the difference.

Yeah it's definitely Live and they do go vertically... well, it isn't entirely vertical, but it isn't like basic horizontal, still vertical. I wonder if its just I haven't found the effect yet... Maybe I should screencap the effect from your videos and asked where you got it, because it was the one I wanted the most when I downloaded... Hmm... :confused3

DVC is awesome! I stayed at AKL on my last DVC-"run" trip and it was an amazing resort. We didnt' have savannah view but it was still awesome. I'm hoping, if we end up going through the DVC and we have to stay at a DVC resort, it will be Beach Club or Bay Lake Tower. Though I still want to go to the Poly :teeth:

Haha it's fine! Oh my God REALLY!?!? That's awesome! I always tell people stuff like that too! Well happy late birthday! Yayy birthday buddies!

Haha! I know very little people within my month, so I get very excited. Happy Belated Birthday to you, too! :-)

I totally agree about having a later prom being nice in it's own way. It was nice not having to worry about school while at prom. It made the whole evening more enjoyable and less stressful.

I hope you enjoy college next year! Most of my friends ended up going to the community college that is right by us but for me and my friends that did end up going away it was nice being able to have new surroundings.

And I hope your graduation was fun as well. Do you have yours outside or inside? If outside then I also hope you had nice weather. For mine it started out nice and then it started raining during the ceremony so half my class never got to formally graduate (luckily my name was towards the begining of the alphabet so i got to walk across the stage) but it was horrible for those who didn't.

Wow! Finally caught up! The last day is always bitersweet, but that meal at Akershus looked like so much fun! I went there my last trip for dinner and they had this amazing shrimp salad! I've been trying to find the recipe for it ever since! Your prom pictures are SO CUTE! I think my fav is of the three of you standing with your backs to the camera making hearts with your hands! I might have to borrow that pose for my friend's photo shoot :)

It's okay. I haven't updated in forever because I'm SO BUSY. Summer is busier than the school year was :rotfl: It's okay. I'll update soon.
I know I'm sad it's almost over. But YAY for lunch
I loved our food! You are going to LOVE 'ohana!!
And yes it was! I loved prom :yay: And haha best cheesecake EVER.

Yeah it's definitely Live and they do go vertically... well, it isn't entirely vertical, but it isn't like basic horizontal, still vertical. I wonder if its just I haven't found the effect yet... Yeah. It's vertically horizontal hahaha :rotfl: What effect are you looking for? Maybe I can help you find it!
And that's awesome! I did too :goodvibes I have to start that TR soon lol. I am staying at BLT for christmas... and there's no way we could do it without DVC. If you're going to Disney anyway, DVC is like a miracle haha
And YAY for birthdays!

Yeah, right!? It's nice to not have to worry about homework or studying.
I hope I enjoy college too! I bet I will! Yeah, I need to go away I think. I'll like being immersed in everything.
Graduation was LOTS of fun! :) It was inside of a church, so it was good! We got to see everyone outside after. That's terrible about the rain :( That would stink.

Yay may birthdays :)

:thumbsup2

Yay! I know it is :( But we seriously made the best of it until the very very end! Wow, that sounds good! I hope you find it someday! And thank you so much! I loveee that picture! It's really adorable! Go ahead and borrow that pose... it's one of our classics :goodvibes

And YAY for birthdays!

Now, let's not get too technical, this conversation is going long enough LOL The effect I'm looking for is the one you used for the title to the whole video, you used it on the first video for the first day and also on the last video of the last day. It was the first effect you used. Maybe, I'll screencap it to make it easier... Here it is:

Untitled1.jpg

The title openings I found are pretty boring, so I wanted to see if there were better ones I could find. Hope this whole "search-for-the-effect" isn't becoming a bit annoying LOL

Oh, that's awesome! I can't wait to read that. I just love that place, I had so much fun at the hotel. That TR is still in progress actually, but it's old :/ Hope you have a great time at BLT (though it is months away LOL) ! :-)

Real Life Update #5 - Cooking Fail
May 20th, 2011

I'm so sorry I haven't updated in FOREVER! Summer is obviously busier than the school year, I guess! Geez!

Well anyways... I am gonna have to get a move on and finish up these last few updates!

This update is about Kristen and my cooking failure.

Once upon a time, it was a Friday night. And because Kristen and I are crazy girls, we decided that it would be fun to make some Disney Food during our sleepover! It went really well the last time with our banana bread pudding, so why not try some more recipes?

We found our recipes on disboards and stopped at the grocery store after school and picked up all of our ingredients. The guy cashing us out asked if we were sisters. LOL no sir, we're not. We were expecting you would ask that!

So we finally got home, and decided to start making Kristen's favorite - Schoolbread!

However, the measurements were all in metric measurements... umm that was a problem. We had to use google and a calculator to get a rough idea of what we were doing.

Thank God for the Handy Dandy Graphing Calculator!

dsc0158o.jpg

We put in all of our ingredients and started mixing them up.

dsc0151au.jpg

However, it looked a little too watery.

dsc0156ne.jpg

Something was NOT right here, and I think it was because we mixed a little too much water with the yeast. Not okay.

dsc0161aj.jpg

So we got rid of that recipe and found a new one, that proved to be better.

dsc0162gh.jpg

The girl who blogged it was just as crazy as us for trying to make schoolbread.

In the meantime, we used up all of the yeast. So, mother offered to go buy us some more. So we decided to work on our next project of the night, which was the Red Velvet Cupcakes from starring rolls!

ha. ha.

We created our mixture and dumped all of our red food coloring in.

dsc0170sv.jpg

It looked like blood... such a dramatic baking experience.

dsc0175oc.jpg

We popped those in the oven so they could bake.

dsc0176x.jpg

Then, we started on the cheesecake part so we could make the frosting. That part, at least, tasted good.

dsc0177bf.jpg

Soon enough, the cupcakes were out. So, we set them to cool.

dsc0178dh.jpg

Mother came back and it was time to start on our first project, schoolbread!

This new recipe seemed to work a lot better, and we actually felt like we were getting somewhere!

dsc0181t.jpg

It actually looked like dough! WOOHOO!

dsc0184lw.jpg

dsc0183u.jpg

We had to let that set so the yeast could rise. SO BACK TO THE CUPCAKES!

dsc0188s.jpg

I touched one... and realized... they were as hard as rocks.

dsc0193f.jpg

We later realized that there was no baking powder listed on the recipe, and that's what Kristen's Mom believes was the problem. We were so frustrated! We wanted to bring these cupcakes to a party the next day, and at that rate, it wasn't happening.

dsc0195x.jpg

Hidden Mickey!

dsc0194z.jpg

Since the cheesecake frosting turned out okay, we looked in the cupboard to find cupcakes to make so they could be frosted. Unfortunately, we were out of cake mix! But, we did have brownie mix! So we decided to make brownies in the shape of cupcakes.

dsc0198nm.jpg

dsc0202ii.jpg

Jumping back to the schoolbread, it was time to make the custard. So, we created that substance, which seemed relatively normal.

dsc0206q.jpg

And the schoolbread was ready to be taken out of the oven!

dsc0207un.jpg

We let those cool while we frosted our brownie cupcakes. We put the cheesecake frosting on them with heath bar chunks on top.

dsc0208xb.jpg

Those seemed okay, so it was time to finish off the schoolbread. Until we tried to take it off of the tray. It was stuck.

So, we scraped it off, and this is what we saw:

dsc0213fw.jpg

BURNED. The schoolbread was BURNED.

That was it for us, we were going a little crazy at this point. It was like two in the morning, nothing worked, and we were tired.

So, we made bagel bites. Popped them in the microwave and ready in a couple of minutes.

dsc0215l.jpg

The end result of our baking experience?

We cut the bottoms off of the schoolbread and put them in a ziplock bag. We were going to finish them off the next day, but we literally had no motivation. So they went in the garbage.

The red velvet cupcakes went in the garbage. Obviously. They were not useful at all. Unless we wanted to like... throw them at people, or something. LOL just kidding. :-)

And the brownie cupcakes... we never refrigerated them. And they had cheesecake frosting. So they probably went bad. So they went in the garbage too.

Moral of the story? Don't try and make Schoolbread or Red Velvet Cupcakes at home. Just let Disney do it. It saves a lot of time, money, and effort.

And the funny part is that Kristen proceeded to get me a Disney Desserts Cookbook for my Birthday. And I got her an I ♥ Schoolbread shirt for her Birthday.

Our lives our funny.

Continued in Next Post

Got a bit carried away with the cooking? Haha Well, it sounds like you had fun. I would've liked to see your schoolbread come out nice and read your rating on it. I have yet to try many Disney desserts (shame on me :guilty:) and the School bread looked good. :-) Sorry you never got to have the brownie cupcakes, they looked really nice :D Can't wait to *sniffle* read the last segment in your TR :goodvibes
