Post pics of your bag you carry into park

I just received the ebag piazza bag for Christmas. It seems perfect for the park. I like the seperate phone/headphone section, the expandable section to hold a water bottle.the additional areas for a camera, and areas for maps & planning guides. I will test it out in September! Can't wait.

This is the bag that I got to take.. its a KAVU bag, over the shoulder and will hold enough for me and my husband for the day..

Love the KAVU bags - can't decide which pattern, but definitely what I'll be taking with me next trip! I also have seen several sherpani bags in similar styles that I love.

Finally, after many months of debating, I purchased this bag:

After all the reviews I am SO excited to get it. I do want to let you guys know though, if you go to the eBay store for eBags it was $10 cheaper and it was still free FedEx shipping! I ordered mine earlier and it says the est arrival date is only Tuesday!

I have a question for you all though: what is the point of packing cubes? I understand that it keeps certain things separate but I usually put my "unmentionables" in the zipper compartments of my suitcase and shoes in the slip areas on the suitcase. Is it really THAT much better :confused3

The last two years I've taken the small Vera Bradley backpack in the discontinued Java Blue pattern:

Vera Bradley

DH had to carry it more than he'd like on this past trip because I ride the bigger/faster rides with our oldest DS, so he said we would be getting a new more manly backpack for the next trip lol! He also gave me a nice (but large) camera a year ago and it took up most of the space in the little backpack. When we decided to go this year, I ordered the Eddie Bauer Trekker Backpack in Canyon Clay - DH is much happier with the idea of this one and I'm happier that I won't have to take the camera and everything else out of it to find something at the bottom:

It should be noted that my trusty little VB backpack will still be traveling with us to use on our lighter days in the parks :).

For those of you with Kavus, what style do you have? They are all so cute and look really functional, too!

I had a sling backpack for our last trip and it totally bugged me. I always had to completely remove it for rides and the bus and felt like I could never get access to it without risking having items fall out. I also felt vulnerable having it on my back.

I can't be more excited about my bag for this trip. It is the Lesportsac Deluxe Everyday Messenger in Aquarelle. I plan on wearing it cross-body, but like that it can be a shoulder bag as well. My mom even went out and got one in a different pattern for our trip too. I love the all of the zip pockets!

I designed this bag at VivPickle (mine is not pictured)...I went with a bright pattern and got an ID pocket inside. They allow you to choose the fabric and add as many pockets as you want. You can even pick the colors of your zippers and strap!

I didn't read through this whole thread, so please excuse me if this has been asked/answered already! I'm considering a Vera Bradley backpack for this year's trip. We have always carried a full sized LL Bean backpack, but since the kids are older I want something smaller. I need to be able to carry DD's medication, our camera (small), ponchos and sunscreen. It looks like all that would fit. Any problems with it not being waterproof? It looks light enough to "breathe" in the heat (the LL bean left us with drenched backs!) I carried the Hipster on a trip with DH, but it is not big enough to fit DD's meds (it's that darn inhaler mask!) Anyone ever carry the VB backpack in the parks? Thanks!

I haven't tried it at Disney, but I have one and it seems like it would be a good size for what you need to carry. It won't be waterproof, but if you are carrying ponchos, it won't be an issue. A little bit of water won't hurt it (you could pack a ziplock for meds & camera just to be on the safe side). I've found VB bags to breathe in the heat.

If you like the cross-body style and the Hipster is too small, take a look on eBay at the Vera Bradley "Cargo Sling". It's not made any more, but I've used that as a park bag several times and it's roomier than the Hipster but still cross-body and just a really handy bag.

I have a smaller VB backpack and I love it. I was thinking about updating it (after several vacations, the wear and tear is starting to show). DH wanted a more "manly" backpack since he got stuck with it a lot on this trip, so we bought an Eddie Bauer backpack with a breathable back, but I'll still be bringing the VB backpack along for the lighter days in the park. We also got a larger camera and last year was a little awkward, always juggling it to get to whatever was in the bottom of the pack. If you have a small camera, it really is a great little bag!

Last year I also had the VB wristlet to keep track of my phone and tickets and fast passes. It was the perfect size, but the strap did get on my nerves and it was so bulky that even though it fit in my cargo pocket, I felt weighted down by it. This year I'm going to try the "mini hipster" as a makeshift wallet (with a strap) that can stay in the backpack until DH and I go our separate ways with the kids and then I'll have the essentials with me.

Good luck in what you choose! I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if I find a pattern I like (I'm hoping the fall 2012 patterns that come out in August will be more appealing for me - mine is in Java Blue, but I haven't liked a pattern since Buttercup).

If you haven't bought it yet, you might want to take a look at the "Lizzy". The Mini-Hipster gets a lot of love here at the Dis, but I really didn't like it. It's hard to get into - just to unzip it, you have to un-velcro the flap first - and it's narrow and deep. I had trouble using it for just the basics (small camera + sunglasses + phone + cards/money). The strap doesn't adjust (you can tie it to change the length). It's the velcro flap that really drove me nuts, though. The Lizzy is awesome and just about the same in concept. Better organization, easier access, and an adjustable strap make it a nicer bag, IMO. Also, you can shorten the strap a lot to make it like a fanny pack.

Jansport Equinox 33 - This bag has been everywhere with us, WDW and many other places. I'm the designated sherpa so having all of the straps really helps. At one point last week I had one jacket underneath and one on each side :lmao:

In it I carry about everything anyone could ever want. In addition, I keep my dLSR and an additional lens in this. I highly recommend it for those looking for a camera pod.

Thanks for the suggestion! I wanted it in a color that is sold out online (and I think discontinued now) so DH found one for sale on Ebay for $9. If I don't like it when it comes in, it won't be a big loss and I'll be sure to go to search for the Lizzy!

Would the mini-hipster be a good size for just an iPhone and some money and cards? Our camera is a big one with a detachable lens, so it stays with the backpack and I use my sunglasses as a headband when they're not needed. It's mainly my phone, the KTTW (all of them), my Visa and a little bit of cash I would need it for.

I cant post my image, but my bag is Simple and compact! 1 stye - young style @_@

You can't go wrong for $9, that's a steal! It is definitely the right size for an iPhone + money + cards.

The Vera Bradley backpack is on sale on their web site (in some colors) for $44 today, February 20th, 2012! It's $88 full price.

oh disboards what you do to me! I just ordered the vera bradley backpack on sale! Will use it to and from airport, and maybe some days in the park. I have a hipster, but didn't use it in the parks last year. Only at home!? Didn't want that strap across my body and it overall was too big on my "hip" I'm short and small and it is not comfortable on me. So what do I take on days when I just want my iphone room keys and some money? Maybe even a small tube of sunblock to reapply. Any ideas? We don't carry water bottles or lots of camera stuff :confused3

something that I could stuff into a pocket to bypass the bag check line would be wonderful! then on days where I need the backpack I would just throw it into the larger bag. :confused3 :worship: :rotfl2:

We have never been to WDW before and our first trip is coing up next week. I haven't got a bag to carry with us yet. Are you allowed to bring your bag with you on the rides??? Is there a maximum size they will allow you to bring with you on the rides??
