Totally Last Minute Spring Fling! No DDP, Tons Of Pics! COMPLETE!

Just finished reading your whole report, love all the pictures!! I am a big WPE fan also, my favorite was always the BBQ Chicken Quesadilla but the margarita pizza is also fantastic. The last few trips we have been obsessed with Earl of Sandwich and the Holiday Sandwich (turkey, stuffing, cranberry=AMAZING) so we haven't been to WPE in a while. Kona does a great breakfast, we try to go there at least once for breakfast every trip. Love all the pictures of the cupcakes and sweets, I would gladly skip a meal in favor of a cupcake or brownie !! My favorite Disney snack is the Carrot Cake Cookie at DHS, usually get one (or two) a trip !!

I'm so happy to see another positive review of San Angel Inn! That place has been on my radar for quite a while, but I've still never been there. Hopefully that'll change on the next trip! :goodvibes

Yes, that avocado margarita is simply amazing. Yummy......mmmmm....glad I booked dinner at La Hacienda.

Just for fun, before our last trip (I was bored) I looked at all of the restaurants we might eat at and what we would order there. I did this for three meals a day. Turned out that the DDP and the DXDP both would have cost me more then I would have spent OOP. That was eating the same amount at each meal, although I don't usually eat dessert until later, like you, at a different place.
I think the difference was only $50.00 or so but still, if offered I would have felt sick after every meal, as I was raised to clean off my plate:sick:
So the dining plan would not work for us.
I also lose weight walking at Disney! Usually 5-6 lbs over the week.:cool1:

Thanks for an enjoyable and informative report!

Thanks for the San Angel review. It looks lovely and relaxing. I've read mixed reviews so I am glad to see a positive one. Your chicken enchilada dish looked really delish! :)

I really wish we had been able to try EoS a few times this trip, but we just couldn't drag ourselves out of WPE. The Holiday Sandwich sounds amazing though! The sweet stuff is my favorite part! I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing that hubby isn't much of a sweets eater. :rotfl: Disney trips are definitely my time to indulge in sweet treats since I don't get too many chances to at home. I will absolutely skip a meal for a cupcake too! I had the Carrot Cake cookie last trip and I liked it, but didn't love it. I really thought I would love it, but I didn't find myself craving it this trip.

I hope you do get to try it next time! I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't the best mexican food I've ever had or anything, but it was a really nice lunch spot.

I am really enjoying your dining report! Thanks for sharing! :)

Thanks so much! :goodvibes So glad you joined in!

Alright, another Avocado Margarita fan! :thumbsup2 La Hacienda looks really good too! I definitely want to try that on a future trip.

 I'm the same way about cleaning my plate. I hate to waste food! I threw away one piece of breakfast pizza at WPE this trip and it still haunts me. :lmao: I would rather spend a little bit more on food and get what I want rather than be restricted to certain things. I think the dining plan used to work for us when we were still discovering places to eat in WDW, but now we know our touring style and dining style well enough to know that the dining plan no longer works for us either. Glad to know that you lose weight with all that walking too! It's crazy that I can eat like such a pig and still lose weight. I need some kind of job where I walk all day long and I'll be set!

Thanks for the San Angel review. It looks lovely and relaxing. I've read mixed reviews so I am glad to see a positive one. Your chicken enchilada dish looked really delish! :)

It really was such a relaxing place to eat at. I'm sure not everyone likes that it's dark in there, but I loved it! I had read so many mixed reviews too, so I had somewhat low expectations going into this meal, but it was nice to be pleasantly surprised. :thumbsup2

Yum that Avocado thingy looks AMAZING! I think I will have to set aside $13.50 just to try that baby ;) I don't usually go to mexican places because I just can't stomach onions and it seems that EVERYTHING has onion in it, but I might be able to find something. Even if its just appetizers, margaritas, and desserts :thumbsup2 Looks like it would be a nice cool place to eat on a hot July day.

Of all the meals you have reviewed/picture you have posted, San Angel is the only place that really doesn't appeal to me at all.

I knew what drink I had to have and our server soon returned with the drink that is usually the best part of my vacation. The Avocado Margarita!

And I am normally a huge fan of your choice in adult drinks but I am afraid tequila and I are no longer on good terms :sad2:

However, here at Epcot this lovely drink is $13.50, so I'm in no danger of going overboard with the tequilla. At these prices I don't know how anyone can afford to get drunk in Disney World!
:rotfl:

Well, I've never considered myself to be rich but I have definitely been drunk at Disney World a few times so maybe I am :rotfl2:

Up next... The Best Epcot Snack I Have Ever Had!

Can't wait to see what this is popcorn::

Avocado Magarita has been on my list for last couple years... so this coming trip, I'm going to make extra effort to try to get one. It looks gorgeous!!! :thumbsup2

I've thought it's very romantic and cool to dine at San Angel. One of these days, when I visit WDW sans kids, I'm getting a meal at San Angel. DS does not like dark place to eat so San Angel has been off list for that reason.

That's a shame about the onions. My mom is the same way. She gets horrible stomach pains from onions. You should definitely try the avocado margarita, it's amazing! You can't go wrong with margaritas and dessert for your meal! :thumbsup2

I really enjoyed San Angel, but surely it's not for everyone. I have certain places in WDW like that too. Teppen Edo is the one place in WDW that does not appeal to me at all. Don't know why, but it just doesn't. I hear you on the tequila. Me and tequila get along if I only have one drink. Two tequila drinks and I'm sick. I'm that way with most liquors actually, but definitely tequila. One margarita is my limit!

:rotfl2: We spent A LOT on drinks at F&W Fest on our honeymoon. I never did a tally on just how much we spent because I think it would scare me. Definitely don't want to think about the fact that we probably drank a mortgage payment! :lmao:

Oh, it's good. I'm drooling just thinking about it.

It is definitely worth trying! I didn't know if I would like it the first time I tried it, but now I'm addicted! I really want to try some of the other ones they have, but I can't seem to drag myself away from this one! That's a shame you haven't been able to try San Angel yet. I think that the atmosphere was the best part. It's the same thing with CRT for me. Good food for sure, but not amazing. It's the atmosphere in the castle that seals the deal though. That's the great thing about so many of the WDW restaurants. I certainly do not get to eat anywhere that cool here in Jersey.

I have been wanting to try this bakery for many, many trips, but I am always too full to check it out when I'm at Epcot. However, today is the day that I get to try it for the first time.

It was pretty packed inside this small bakery and I tried to peek around the crowd of people to get a look inside the display cases to try and decide what I wanted before it was my turn in line. I wish I had been able to get some pictures in here, but it was shoulder to shoulder in here and I just couldn't manage. Everything looked AMAZING! It was so hard to choose! Hubby and I made our selections and found a seat inside the little shop next door which had tables and chairs set up inside.

Hubby got the Cake of the Day

This was chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. Chocolate cake and cheesecake are hubby's favorite desserts, so this was right up his alley. He loved it!

I decided to go with the Sacristain.

There is no emoticon for how much I loved this thing. If there was it would probably be a combination of :goodvibes :cool1: :lovestruc   :woohoo:

It is a lighty flaky pastry wrapped up with a little bit of the thick vanilla cream running through it along with a ton of chocolate chips and a nice glaze on the outside. Heaven. Absolute Heaven. Now that I know about this I will be getting it every trip. It is my absolute favorite snack in all of WDW now. I have to leave room to try more things here because honestly, everything looked equally delicious. We almost got back in line to get more treats to take back to the room, but for some reason decided not to. Looking back, I wish we had.

If you have not been here yet, do not let another trip pass you by before you stop in this fabulous bakery. You will not be sorry! :thumbsup2

I can't remember if I've ever "formally" popped in and said hello, so I am doing it now! :wave2: I've been following along.

The avocado margarita is absolutely amazing. My mom got one when we were there last week and it was to die for. I kind of regretted not getting it:confused3 So refreshing and delicious.

That chocolate cake from the patasserie...wow. My mouth began watering when I saw that picture. Both look like must-tries on our next trip:thumbsup2

Great job so far, I'm really enjoying reading along!

That's my problem, too! There is way too much good food in Epcot. I never make it to France (or Norway) with any room to try their treats!!

OMG! That pastry you had looks absolutely amazing! We've never tried the bakery in France either (like you, we've always been too full). I can see I'll need to save some room for that little beauty when we're there in the fall. Thanks for your reviews, I'm really enjoying them!

I absolutely LOVE the Boulangerie Patisserie. Yummy, yummy and more yummy. I am dedicating at least 3 if not 5 snack credits to those delicious pastries!!!

Your reviews are just wonderful, I've still got a few to catch up on but I just wanted to check in and say 'wow'
Going off to read the rest now :)

Boulangerie Patisserie is our favorite bakery in WDW! :goodvibes I've yet to try the patry you had but every other item that we've had, they were excellent. :thumbsup2

I've never been a huge fan of Boulangerie Pâtisserie (my snack of choice in France has always been a sugar crêpe), but your two dessert pics look great. Maybe it's time for me to give it another chance :)
