You know with our trip report thread we are going to start - we should have some contests.... Like best food porn pic, nicest CM, best Photobomb etc...

AWESOME IDEA!! Remind me if I forget, when we start that thread.

I like this idea! Hey tofubeast, is this possible???
Of course! All we need is a little pixie dust. :wizard:

Come to think of it, Levenhopper and Abby sounds like a great title for a future Lifetime Original movie! :rotfl:

gina

True, but do not cast Lohan as Abby!!!

The Dr put me on a z pack yesterday also. Car is all packed. We leave in 10 hours:cool1: My name is Diana.

TEN HOURS!! WOW.

Can't believe some trips are just about to start! YAY!!

HAVE FUN!

We are staying at OKW. It will take us 2 days to get there. We will stop at Hilton head on Thursday and should be at OKW @ 1 on Friday.

We will be at OKW on Saturday! Our fist night is at AKL. Where are you driving from?

Does anyone else get obsessive about cleaning their house before they leave for vacation? DH thinks I'm nuts... He always jokes that I'm cleaning the house so that if someone breaks in they think "wow, they cleaned for us!" I just like coming back to a clean house.

It's not just you! After the hectic, craziness of a trip to anywhere, but especially Disney World, I need to come back to the calm and order of a nice clean house! And since I can't find any elves or fairies or mice to do it for me, it's on the list of things to do before we leave!

I don't think my brain can handle all the "real" names! Your DIS names are too ingrained :rotfl:

By the way, I'm Kristine :wave2:

I know, I'm having enough trouble matching Twitter names to DIS names.

My name is in my sig but if you're reading on the app -- I'm Terri. :-)

Single digits!
It looks like quite a few will be at POR. DD and I will be the two redheads, I am 5'6" and she is 4'11". I will most likely be traveling alone in the morning as she has warned me that she will be sleeping in.
BTW, I am Karen and dd is Sara.

We have a cleaning lady that comes every other week. She'll come 3 days before we leave and then again the day after we get back. At least that means that DBF's laundry will be done right before we leave.

It is nice coming home to a clean house. However, that she'll be here the day after we get back means I have to put things away so they aren't in her way to clean.

Busy but a totally unproductive day, do you know what I mean?
Now thats not very dramatic is it??? You were on the edge of your seat until I said 'the heater on the fish tank', weren't you :p Apparently the flame was about 2 inches high and one cup of water put it out. The thick smoke was from the plastic housing melting
:lmao: Loved this story. I just came home from breaking up a fist fight. Fortunately it was between 7th graders, so just walking into the middle and trying not to get hit did the trick, then the kids ran off. That was enough excitement for me.
Ugh! I want to go to the dr but don't want to drag the kids there with all the germs! I think I will be getting a decongestant though- at least for the flight...

I think DD1 is getting sick. I'm not my DHs biggest fan right now getting us all sick!!! Hope pre-k has amped DD3 immune system up and at least she stays healthy ;)
Is there anyone who could watch the kids so you could go to the doctor and get a prescription? Or maybe call a nurseline and they might be able to prescribe you something over the phone.
I think I'll try citrus swirl this trip. I love dole whip and DW floats, but want to try citrus swirl (I remember the orange bird from when I was a kid)
Ooh, does the citrus swirl have pineapple in it? I love the idea of Dole Whips/Floats but I'm allergic to pineapple. A citrus swirl sounds awesome.
Panicking a bit, but for a good reason, because

48 HOURS FROM NOW I'LL BE IN FLORIDA, PROBABLY WAITING FOR OR ALREADY ON DME!!! :cheer2:
That is a great reason to panic!
Morning my DIS buddies!

We leave in 3 days, 20 hours and 45 minutes! Only 17 more work hours!!!!!!!

I am royally PO'd right now - Like naked Kate Middleton pics PO'd...
That really sucks about your Black Friday order, but I have to say I loved the "Naked Kate Middleton pics PO'd" expression! :rotfl:
My LGMH tags are all set and ready! I'll have one of them on my pink backpack. I chose an LGMH from Milliepie over on the Disney Cruise forum after Googling "lime green mickey head". It has Tinkerbell above one of Mickey's ear which is in a pixie dust swirl.
I just made some last night, just grabbed some paint chips that are lime green from Walmart, then cut Mickey heads out ...

Okay DISsers, more help needed. DH has been trying to exercise and last night he twisted his ankle. Not sure if its sprained or not, but he came home from work early today since it was hurting ... if we end up having to rent a wheelchair, whats the best off-site place to rent from? He can walk, but is not feeling up to long distances today, and I can't afford Disney rates for getting one in the park ... hopefully it'll be better by Saturday, our first day in the parks (and the 13 hours worth of flying we're doing to get there Thurs/Fri should help too).

I'm also trying to re-figure our transportation out since our friend who was going to be our chauffeur to and from the cruise so he could keep the car since he'll be staying off-site when we're on the cruise just started looking for car insurance today (he doesn't own a car atm), and is finding one that would cover him using a rental more difficult than he anticipated. :headache: Buying insurance through the rental car company would double the rate (we got it for $200 for 9 days), so that's not really an option. Splitting it up into two reservations would also more or less double the rate.

I have to clean! My neighbours daughter house-sits for us so the house needs to be nice for her - wouldn't want the neighbours talking about me :snooty:

I may hurt DH before this is over. The boss has a conference call with his boss today so he told DH we should know today if/when he can switch positions. I was talking to DH at lunch and said, dont forget to ask about the vacation issue. DH says, oh we are way too busy right now for me to be asking about vacation. :scared1: What??!! And the supervisor of that department is off this week so he doesn't know if they will tell him anything or wait until she comes back. So I could find out on 12/3 that I am leaving for Disney on 12/8, assuming there is still availability. I really might kill him.
:thumbsup2 Just be sure the life insurance is in place ...
At this point I'd be telling him I'm going without him. If he can join me, great but if not, oh well. His loss.. :rotfl:
Especially since she has backup Disneygoers lined up already!
I agree, but his company is not very organized so this is not shocking. I think he will be fine taking his original week at this point. The supervisor on vacation this week is great and I am actually hoping it is her decision because then we should be fine.
I hope so. If they're that unorganized hopefully they can just do without him for a week regardless of whether he switches or not ...
LOL! :lmao:
Maybe we should have made a DecDISers directory with a DIS-name to real name translation, accompanied by photos
For those on the FB group, I couldn't keep them straight so I made a file with people's FB names and DIS names ...
I don't think my brain can handle all the "real" names! Your DIS names are too ingrained :rotfl:
:rotfl: Me too. I'm going to be saying hi to y'all by your DISnames if I see anybody!

I have to, too. Its more for the fact that Hawaii is very bug-ridden place (at least our part of the valley, we're kind of living on the side of the volcano which is very rainforest-ey sort of climate ... less so towards the beaches where the weather is more dry and arid). Plus there are mice in my neighborhood. They're small and cute, but I don't want them in my house, so I make sure its squeaky clean whenever we go anyplace for a spell, because they'll move right on in if its not, along with ants and cockroaches.

Woke up with a sore throat today. But DH & DS6 had a sore throat last week and were over it in 2 days, so I hope this is the same thing. Might not go to work tomorrow ... in fact I probably won't. I'm kinda burnt out and would rather be done, then just able to look forward to starting my new job when I get back.

Ok, for those of you playing along at home - today was final decision day.

FIL saw the doctor this morning. He took the brace off (two weeks early) and put him in a soft collar. So in spite of how he feels, he's clearly recovering well. But of course he has a long way to go. The doctor told him no heavy lifting, nothing over his head and "don't make me regret taking this off early."

There was a point this evening where FIL decided he felt good today and maybe they should go for part of the time. But at this point everyone agrees that would not be a good idea. They are definitely looking at the next trip though. Hoping I get that bounce back for Oct. and cross your fingers that we can go when Air Supply (MIL's favorite band) is playing.

Off to cancel rooms now. Much as I wanted a decision, this is very hard to do.

 better to be safe than sorry, even though this isn't what you all were hoping for. On the positive yay for them wanting to go on another trip!!

Although its not the ideal situation, I'm glad you have a resolution on this... Plan B it is!

I hate coming back to a messy house. Fortunately the housekeepers come the day after we leave. :)

Sorry it didn't work out the way you'd planned :grouphug: I'm glad to hear he is healing well though. I'll cross my fingers that you get a bounceback offer so your ILs can join you next time pixiedust:

I rented from Buena Vista. There's a discount on AllEars.
