Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

I want to book D-Tech for DH but I am trying to decide on a time. We are going on Friday the 6th- and our number one priority is to see the Mark Hamill show. Do we know for sure which show (and time) he will be doing?

Also- I have only been able to book one FTF so far- but I am checking daily to add a second- so I might need to sit and stake out a spot for the parade.

On his weekend, I think many will go straight from rope drop to securing a parade spot.

So is anyone interested in doing a SW vinylmation exchange?

I'm not sure how fast the limited editions sell out, but I will be there the first weekend and am going to try to purchase some R2-MKs.

These are the release dates according to Vinylmationkingdom.com

Quick question.

The Disney Store has released their SW merch & DS wants a Darth Vader costume. They are $59.95. (He wants a Stormtrooper one, too but it is too hot for SWW- it's like the vinyl Buzz Lightyear one) My MIL gave me her rewards card that has about $40 on it for our trip.

My question is, is there something that a 5 yr old SW nut is going to want at SWW that can't be bought online, etc?

He's with my inlaws today so I was going to go see if they had DV in his size before the big event tomorrow for Star Wars Day.

Thanks a bunch!

Amy

Here are a few more of the 501st New England Garrison at a Lowell Spinners Star Wars night, this one was last year (we missed 2012, but already have tickets for this years)

One thing that is cool, is the Spinners wear a special jersey each year for Star Wars night, I've tried getting a picture of one, but haven't had success. Its different each year. I'm going to make that a priority this year. After the game, the players sign sign the jersey's and then they are auctioned off for local charities. They guy we saw pitch at the 2011 game is now a starting pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, Felix Dubront. There are a bunch of other players that are now on the Red Sox roster that played for the Spinners but non that I recall seeing. So if you know your baseball you can get a Spinners Star Wars Jersey signed by a future Red Sox player. Only been to a few Spinners games, even though it 20 minutes away and far cheeper than going the 35 minutes to Boston to see the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Hi Amy,
The SWW logo merchandise may be a nice souvenir of your SWW trip. Does he already have a light saber? He can get one and have it autographed when he meets the characters.

Thank you.

Argh. Decisions, decisions. We went to a local SW store today and he got a free action figure b/c he came in costume (Boba Fett) but he picked out a couple other little things despite my reminder that we will be going to WDW soon. He wants what's in the here & now. Save sh-mave!

He built a DV light saber on our last trip and has countless others that both collapse or light up. He doesn't have a Mace Windu one yet. I was going to have him bring one to get signed. Will they let them be extended, though? The CM at Tattoine Traders taped his saying it was against park rules to play with them. Or, do you mean have them sign the part that won't collapse?

Once you get up to the character, you can ask to extend for an autograph and then collapse it once it is dry; he won't be playing with it just getting it signed.

Thanks!! Will they let him use his own as long as he keeps it in the backpack?

We arrive at MCO May 24th at 4:20pm, would it be worth it for us to head to DHS after we get check into our resort? Will we be able to see anything that late? We're staying at BC so we wouldn't be too far away...this would be our only chance to be there during SWW.

You'll be able to watch the special SWW fireworks, the Darth Mall merchandise area may not be very crowded later in the day, trade with Jawas in the Streets of America, and there should be some special cupcakes, too!

Thanks for your response! Those all sound great! I think we'll head over as soon as we can once we drop everything off at the resort.

You can bring light sabers to have signed. Lots of people do. I'm not sure what you mean by use his own though?

Do you mean one from home? Yes, just keep it in his backpack until you get to character M&G lines.

Yes! That's what I meant :)

I'm at the mall now. They have the DV costume in his size. What to do.... Sure wish it wasn't gonna be a zillion degrees. That stormtrooper costume sure is snazzy!!

Great that there maybe a meet & greet to all going to Feel The Force on 17th..

Will anyone be attending FTF on 16th so I can say hi ??

I'll be there - finally was able to snag a cancelled reservation today. YAY!

I have a question about booking the sci-fi breakfast. I booked ours by calling and now would like to troll for a different time as we get closer to the date and others start canceling. Will this come available online? Since sci-fi doesn't normally serve breakfast, will these special breakfasts show up online where all the normal dining ADR'S are made or in a different area of the website?

I believe Disney removed it from online booking due to the confusion over the 2 dining credits per meal. The only way you can check is to call Dining.

These pictures are getting me pumped for the trip! We're going the second weekend but wishing it was the first one!

We are cadets in the 501st NE Garrison. My hubby bought TK armor but we have yet to work on it. He is too tall for it so he is sizing it for me! ;) Hoping it will be done by Celebration VII next April.

Wondering if anyone has heard of the Full Scale Falcon project? We will be attending SWW with our buddy who is making it. :cool1:

Is this true for the H&V dinner also? We have a F! package but would rather have just the dinner.
