"Is it more fun to go by yourself?" "Well, I sure think so!" August 2014

Louie is a little creepy! Good thing he has Baloo there to balance him out :)

Aww that does stink that no one was going to meet Daisy. I feel like that M&G spot is tricky because it's hidden!

Nice taking advantage of the late hours at Blizzard Beach. Great pics of the view from Summit Plummet.

Summit Plummet... that's the one I've never done. I've made it halfway up the steps! I have a fear of heights that I usually do pretty well overcoming but the idea of sliding down from that height is too much for me. So I'm in awe of you!:worship:

I read your review of Boma. I stick to what I feel is safe food and my sister is extremely picky but we both enjoyed our dinners at Boma. She finds enough options for her and I can try a few things while our family gets to try everything.

Can't wait to hear more about your trip! :thumbsup2

I love those shots at Summit Plummit! I've never been to Blizzard Beach and I only spent a few hours at Typhoon Lagoon (in 2007!) so I'm loving all the water park shots.

DH and I did both water parks as part of our 2 week long honeymoon. I rode Summit Plummet once...and that was more then enough for me. I never looked at the pictures, but when I got to the bottom, the photo pass photographer was kind enough to take pictures of me with my bathing suit half down, and as I stood up to fix my massive wedgie!

Later that afternoon, my DH decided he wanted to ride again. Needless to say, I stayed down at the bottom and just watched.

Perhaps if we ever make it back to BB, I will try again....but for now, I'm happy just to hear about it, lol!

Loving your trip report :thumbsup2 We plan on going next August and staying at CBR. What dates were you there in August ?

You're brave. How is the cleanliness of the water parks? I loved them as a child but haven't been back yet with my kids. I get skeeved at the thought of all the people in the same water and things floating around.

I just about died at your trip down memory lane with Dinosaur. I wish my mom had bought the picture from the first time my family rode it. I was 11 or 12 years old and the vast majority of the rides scared me...so of course luck would have it that I got put in the front right seat, aka the scariest seat in the car. I spent the entire ride clinging to my mom, burying my face against her arm and gibbering in terror. It was pretty great. :rotfl: When I finally rode it with my eyes open years later it was like a whole new ride.

I read your food review first and really enjoyed it, so was happy to see the rest of it over here. Did have a moment in the last few minutes when I went "MACARONI AND CHEESE HOT DOG?!" because I didn't know that was a thing that existed and it combines two of my favorite foods that I definitely shouldn't eat but totally will when I'm there next year.

Monkeys in general kind of freak me out. :confused3 And Baloo has those kind of dead eyes that are weird too.

I'm normally an AM water park person, or early afternoon. Going during the evening was definitely a nice change!

I don't love heights either, believe it or not-typically I experience vertigo when I'm up too high, but I was okay there for whatever reason. The height of the slide isn't even the bad part, it's the water force and the end wedgie that really kills me. Boma was very enjoyable!

It's been two long, sad years since I'd made it to a water park. Most days I'll tell you I love TL more, but I did enjoy BB quite a lot this time!

Kind of like this?

That's my "wedgie shot" from 2010. Thankfully my bathing suits (don't know if you've noticed but I've had the same one for four or five [or more] years now, just in different colors) are pretty sturdy and have never fallen down!

Oof - water slide wedgies are the worst! Looks like you had a great time though!

Yes they are! The "colon cleanse" that comes with them isn't particularly nice either. :rolleyes1

Loving your trip report :thumbsup2 We plan on going next August and staying at CBR. What dates were you there in August ?

I was there August 13-18. I was hesitant about it at first but ended up liking it a lot.

You're brave. How is the cleanliness of the water parks? I loved them as a child but haven't been back yet with my kids. I get skeeved at the thought of all the people in the same water and things floating around.

I think the water parks are clean as a whole-but I also work in a group home and, as such, there are very few things that skeeve me out. The only complaint I've ever had is later in the day when the lazy rivers get kind of dirty with leaves and whatnot.

Maybe some day I'll be brave enough to make it through with my eyes open! PB had the mac n cheese hotdog topped with bacon that they sell at DHS. Not something I'm brave enough to try but he loved it!

Saturday morning it was time to hit up Magic Kingdom! I had Mickey waffles for breakfast:
IMG_3892.JPG

Arriving at the TTC bright and early, I was parked in the first row of Aladdin-again, first row of the lot! After a quick walk to the TTC, there were CMs with megaphones announcing that either buses or the ferry boat were available to get to the park. I probably should have taken a bus as it likely would have been faster, but instead was one of the first on the ferry.

Good morning from the Richard F. Irvine! (Please excuse my finger.)

So where was I headed? Not to the rides with everyone else, but off to find some characters, of course!

That's a great tip to go to the water parks a few hours before they close! :thumbsup2 I keep hoping one trip soon we'll have enough time to actually check out a water park.

Love all your shots from the opening show @ MK.

Just came across your TR and the title immediately caught my eye since I'm taking my very first solo trip in November after almost 20 trips going with friends and family. I'm pretty nervous about waiting in lines for rides by myself because I'm already kind of shy and not talkative until I get to know people. But reading this does help a little! Thanks!:goodvibes

We plan on going exactly the same week next year that you went on this trip report :thumbsup2 I'm glad that you really liked it because that makes me feel so much better, I have been worried about the heat and crowds.

Hi! :wave2: I read through your DLR trip report yesterday and then started reading this one while putting my daughter to sleep tonight. I love your floral hidden mickey tank top! Where did you get it?

The water parks don't require a ton of time, really 2-3 hours, probably 4 at most. Definitely try to squeeze at least one in!

Don't be shy! People love to talk to others at Disney! I used to be fairly shy myself, but working there brought me out of my shell. Plus, you're all there for the same thing and that automatically gives you something in common to talk about. :thumbsup2

Don't get me wrong, it was VERY hot (I think they had record breaking heat/humidity) and crowded at times (mostly at MK). But CBR itself was not too crowded, which was nice.

Another very dedicated reader! I got the tank top at the Cast Connection store behind MK over a year ago. Never seen another one like it, actually. Same with my yellow tank from the first day-I've seen one in blue on maybe two other people, but at least three CMs complimented me on it at DHS.

I headed straight for Ariel's Grotto after I was into Fantasyland. As I approached the queue, the CM goes, "This is for photos and autographs with Ariel". "Yes, I know!" :thumbsup2 I was the first person in line at 8:58. The lights were really cool in the queue.
IMG_3897.JPG

Ariel was ready just a few minutes after 9.

I asked if we could make fishy faces and she happily obliged.

My next meet was going to be the Fairy Godmother, but she wouldn't be appearing until 9:20. So I made a quick stop at Prince Charming's Regal Carrousel, where I was able to ride Cinderella's horse with no wait.

Made a quick detour into Sir Mickey's:

I confirmed with the photographer that this is where Fairy Godmother would be meeting, and an older guy said that's what he was waiting for, so I got in line behind him. He explained that his daughter, who has autism, wanted to meet the Godmother, and she was waiting in the shade by Castle Couture. It seemed like he thought I was going to argue with him or something, but I had no problem with it, and quickly explained that I 100% understood because my brother also has autism.

Godmother came out and I met her at 9:21.

PB told me that's the pretty Godmother (I guess there are only two), and she was the original Snow White face character. :confused3

Next I headed to meet the White Rabbit, who was supposed to appear at 9:40 by the Mad Tea Party. To my surprise, both he and Alice were riding the tea cups with a very lucky father & daughter!

There were only 2-3 people in front of me, so it was a short wait. In the meantime, a guy around my age was in line behind me, and said he liked my autograph pages. Somehow the talk turned to the College Program and he said his fiancee did the College Program and loved it so much she stayed. I asked what she did now, and no joke, he twitched his eyes back and forth to Alice a couple of times. "Oh my gosh, how cool!" I guess she started out at Epcot main entrance just a few months after I left!

Since I had already met Alice in Epcot, I explained that and then asked for just the White Rabbit's signature. Alice asked me if I had changed my shirt since then, and then asked me if I ever talk to the flowers on it. I said sometimes and she asked if they were friendly. When I said yes, she said I was lucky because the flowers are not always very nice!

With four characters down, I headed back to Storybook Circus to wait for Pete's Silly Side Show to open at 9:45.

I love all your character meets! You're making me want to do some more. It's been very rare that I've done them... For some odd reason I feel a little shy about them, so it's weird. Oh well, I'll keep up with your photo ops with the characters and maybe I'll gather up the courage for my next trip!

Too cool about the GF and Alice!

Yay joining in.

As I read the start of your trip report was just thinking to anyone not familiar with WDW it must sound crazy Flew to Orlando stayed in Jamaica visited France, England, Mexico etc :rotfl2:

I love the sparkles on Minnie's dress at HS. I always fine her an odd character to meet because she's pretty much like meh I'm great and does her own pose that doesn't really interact much with whoever she's meeting. At least that's what I've found when I've met her anyway :confused3

Love the magic shots with chip! I just ordered the photopass plus for Disneyland I plan on stopping at every photographer ad asking them for all the magic shots they can do :goodvibes

Luvin the pictures with Duffy as well. I'm so sad they took him out of Disneyland :(

Dug is to cute as well and luvin the Pascal PP shot to. You've met so many characters so far. :thumbsup2
