Or have I just started it? :)

After completing the Dopey in 2014, and watching the start / finish video yesterday, I think I may have to jump have into the 2016 Dopey!!

Who else is thinking about it?!

edit... Hadn't found any other 2016 Dopey ones, so I changed it to say official.. If this is wrong, let me know :)

I plan on giving it a whirl next year. Ran the Goofy last year and didn't register in time for anything this year.

We did Dopey last year, but had to stay home with our new additions for this year's races. I watched the live feed of the start and was almost depressed to not be there. I was really down all weekend following everyone's updates here and on twitter.

My wife is excited to start running again and we look forward to Dopey 2016.

Nice! I have to check out of couple of logistical things.. but if they pan out, I think I'm in!! :cool1:

I was considering it after a few members of my running group said they wanted to do it. After reading all of the posts, I am in whether or not my group decides to run. :)

Saw posted that 2016 Dopey will be $550....

Yes, and Goofy will be $360. I would really like to do Dopey, and have no problem with all the running, but I am having second thoughts about 4 consecutive 3am call times. I might stick with my original plan just for Goofy and leave myself some flexibility around arrival dates and park schedules.

I personally had no real issues with the actual early times, but I will admit, it took a lot of restraint to be at WDW and not GO to WDW to save my legs. Now that I've done it, I do think I could have had a little more park time, but still have to be careful not to overdo it.

I was listening to the Lou Mongello podcast that I usually never listen to but I did as he was talking about the marathon weekend and he mentioned something that I definitely did not like,he says there's a rumor out there that 2016 might be the last for Dopey,he doesn't know how real it is but that its out there.I certainly hope its not true as I hoped to do it someday and I'm not sure I want to commit to doing it next year.Does anyone think Disney would consider removing this popular challenge. He gave logistics as the reason they would,I think the only reason they would even consider it is having so many Dopey runners doing the smaller 5K and 10K races takes away 7,000 slots that would be more aimed at new and younger runners as well as families who might be signing up for the half, full and Goofy in a few years.Maybe Disney is telling themselves they need new and younger runners more for their future instead of the more quick money of Dopey runners coming in for almost a week or more.

Honestly that would be pretty cool, but you'd also think they could increase the 5k total also. And I wonder how many people would still do the 5k / 10k even if it wasnt an official dopey?

Obviously that would be the best option, this is Disney they're supposed to take your money.Adding 5,000-7,000 to the 5K and 10K would solve that issue if that were to be the issue but I don't know if that would bring up other issues like changing the starting line or increasing corrals.I think they should do whatever to go forward and removing a popular challenge is not going forward, just like whenever they bring back TOT(hopefully) it would be cool if it comes back as a bigger race weekend 5K,10K half marathon with a challenge medal included.

I'm seriously considering the Dopey for next year! Does anyone remember how quickly it sold out this year? I know it was incredibly fast, but can't remember exactly.

Was looking back at FB posts by people, I know it was sold out by 4/22/14 at 4:45 pm eastern.. appears they went on sale that same day.

I think 2015 will by first and only Dopey. It was a TON of fun, but I want to cross the other RunDisney weekends off of my list. It's also just too expensive to do again in the near future. I will probably avoid Marathon weekend for a while, just so I am not jealous of all of the Dopeys ;)

Marathon weekend is really good for me as far as time off work. I would love to do some other ones, but this weekend just seems right, so if I do RD races, it will probably be this one :D

DW and I have been going to WDW in early January since the last century, sounds old doesn't it, our visit always coincides with Marathon Weekend. We are there, I will enter, at least until I can no longer walk.

I was also listening to that. My plan was to wait until 2018 for the 5th anniversary of the Dopey to run it. Just did the first Goofy. Was only going to do the full in 2016. Will have to rethink that if the rumor has legs.

We're in the same position,I've always done the full, just did my first Goofy and wanted to wait for 2018 to do Dopey. After hearing this rumor which hopefully isn't true I was considering doing Dopey next year but I think I'm definitely steering away from that ship, right now I'm like 90% to just do the full next year. There's other races I want to try right now that don't come with a $500+ registration fee along with hotel rooms for nearly a week.

Guess we just need to see what they announce :).

I have done many rundisney events and enjoy them all and thinking of taking on the dopey challenge. Do you have to just complete the runs to get the medals or do you have to complete the run under the pacing requirement to earn your medal? Most other disney races have starter medals rather than finisher medals, I ran and than helped out after running tower 10 miler few years back and saw many competitors who were swept during race brought to finish area and then presented medals, I was wondering because the dopey is an endurance challenge do you have to be under the pacing requirement and have to finish all races to get medal or do you just have to complete the challenge or if you are swept during any of the races do you earn the medals.
