Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Was told room was not ready, okay it was 7am and I had ask them to get its put definitely by 1pm. That was all we got, nothing about the club, nothing about the hotel, nothing else, just that rooms are assigned as soon as possible to check in so it should be ready soon and they go in order. Strange never heard that.

We ate some and took off to the parks. By 12 we were so tired we went back, 12:30 room not ready but any minute. 1:30 room not ready but any minute. I asked are you telling me if they go in order that no maid has made up any rooms at all all day. They said we are working on it. As we sat in RPC for more than an hour, we saw/heard family after family get a huge sit down and go over ever detail of the hotel, every question about anything answered, we go come back later and maybe a room will be done.

Another is it ready at 2:30 with another no. By this time I was very mad, they had not congratulated us on our wedding, they had not giving happy birthday or congratulation to our graduate. We had not been giving a grand hello this is our hotel. And we still had no room.

At 2:45 we get a text room ready.

Just to comment on the room availability aspect: according to the website they do not guarantee rooms until 3pm. Typically, we do not get a room much before that time, maybe 2:30pm if we are lucky. And we go 2, sometimes 3 times per year. We usually get our room right about the 3pm mark.

Yep me too. I have been there right at 7am and still waited for a room . They say a manager has to inspect it after the maid cleans and sometimes it takes a while. The worst was OKW we were there at 7a and room ready at 4p.

Then other times I have gotten lucky and room was ready. My last trips in Jan and March both were ready at check in around 11am. Love when that happens but know it is def not guaranteed.

Thank you again for the pictures! The view really is beautiful!
We generally like to stay put and unpack and get settled in too. I think that's why I have such a hard time committing to a split stay when I book it. I justified it to my family because we are staying 10 nights this trip and we would be at CR for four nights and Poly for six. They could settle in at Poly right?? :confused3 Also CL TPV comes at a premium even with our military discount. I try to tell my kids that we don't have a money tree in the yard but they are not convinced!!
My kitchen DD are 14, 9,and 6. I think you said you had little ones... did you find it to be a hassle when going to the pool at CR being that you need to take elevators/ escalators to get there? Does that sound ridiculous? We are at Disney we will be doing tons of walking!!!
Also thank you so much for the great room location advice!!!

10 days? I would split! I love Poly TPV CL, with the exception of CR Tower Club it's my favorite resort / CL / room combo by far. I could go to Poly every trip and be totally content. I am not ashamed of my love of Poly CL. But even I don't think I would like a full 10 days there...at some point I'd get bored with the overall routine. Unless you guys are just total hard charging commandos that aren't around the resort that often, I think I'd be inclined to split. 6 and 4 are still plenty long at each, from my perspective. I would split both for the financial benefits and just to try something new.

Certainly one of the nits of CR is the pool setup. We are heavy resort/pool people, so being steps from both pools at Hawaii is a huge bonus. You can run back to your room so quickly to grab something, grab a beer form the lounge, etc.

You don't really have that flow at CR. But it's not really an overwhelming negative, it's just different. Getting to the pool is just a an elevator ride down and a straight shot out the 'back' to the pool. It's not far or much of a hassle. The CR elevators get some bad reviews which is somewhat justified - occasionally they are a little slow - but that's relatively minor. The CR pools are a bit more "boring" for my family, but mine are younger (6 and 2), so things like the splash pad and zero entry pools at Poly tend to be more "fun" for them.

Just my perspective, but hope that helps.

We are big on resort days too. We are only doing a 5 day ticket and the rest will be spent at the resort.
I have to agree that 10 days at one resort can become dull after so long so switching things up would be a nice break. I think we will keep the split and check one more resort off our list.
Thank you so much for your insight!
You are a great help!

Thank you. I will definitely report back when we return and yes the rest of my family can't be mad at me when ending a trip at the Polynesian. We all love it there. I actually never thought I would like it because it always seemed so dark to me when compared to GF or BC/YC but once we stayed I loved it and realized all the dark tones and theme just went together so well. Love it!! I hope we will love contemporary too.

You're welcome! Looking forward to your report :flower3:.

We love the Poly, too! I agree, the colors/theme go so well together. I'm sure you'll have a great time. And who knows, you might find you love the CR. But if not, you can always look forward to the Poly :goodvibes.

We are the same way. We like to unpack and settle in, but I think 10 nights is enough for a split. Six nights is plenty to settle in and enjoy the Poly ;).

I don't think you'll regret it. Plus, like you said, it'll check one more resort off your list :).

Planning our December trip and I'm trying to decide which resort. The last time we were at the World, we stayed at the Yacht Club hotel (not club level) and loved the pool. We'd like to stay at either Beach or Yacht Club CL - any pros / cons for each? I feel like I remember reading awhile back that one of those resorts was not that great at CL. Historically, our favorite CL resort has been Boardwalk - we've done it numerous times. I just love the set up and the cast members there. We've done AKL and GF, which for us was just OK. TIA I always appreciate this groups' feedback.

If I had to choose between yacht club and beach club , I'd pick YC. I found the CMs to be friendlier, and the resort a little quieter. We didn't care for the service at BC lounge and we so wanted to love it because we love the resort. It just didn't .Also all the CL rooms and lounge just had a refurbishment.

Do you know if you don't do online check-in where the CL check-in is?

You'll go to the normal check in desk in the lobby and hopefully a CM will escort you to the CL lounge.

Sort of oddball question, but does anyone who has stayed at AKL CL know whether they have any sort of sparkling water options available? I'm taking my dad and he drinks only that with his meals, so I'm wondering whether I need to stock up beforehand.

There's definitely no sparkling bottled water available. They don't have any bottled water which I thought was odd. The only water which was available was in a dispenser. I did see people filling cups and taking them out of the lounge. It's the first CL where I haven't seen bottled water available. I also noticed that as soon at 10pm came around, the fridge was emptied of all soft drinks. When we've stayed at the GF or CR, there's always been soft drinks available no matter what time of day. TBH I wasn't that impressed with the lounge even though the hotel is beautiful.

Checking in with the offerings from
The YC lounge yesterday & today.

5/8: hot apps: pulled pork w/ polenta, chicken nuggets,

Cold: Brussels sprout slaw, chicken Waldorf salad, tomatoes & pepper salad

5/9 hot apps: salmon with lentils, pigs in a blanket w/ ketchup & mustard for dipping

Cold: caprese salad, mixed olives, loaded potato salad (yummy!)

And always cheese, crackers, p,b& j shooters w/ rolls, crudités & dip

Breakfast today had apple danish & banana mini muffins

Arrived at YC CL this morning around 9:30am. Room wasn't quite ready so we headed to the parks.
Received a text about 45 min later it was in fact ready.
Pixie Dust for sure! I booked a club level standard view. We were upgraded to a water view. We look out directly over the dock and lighthouse!!! Room 5173. It is a king room, WITH a full sized sofa. Full meaning a large sofa with a queen size sofa sleeper. And a large coffee table, desk and chair. Usual dresser etc. Large full balcony. It's very nice and seems oddly large.

Edit-forgot to add the view picture. Really nice. We should see a full view of illuminations from this room.

That happened to us too last summer. I went to regular check in and told them we were club level and someone came right out gave a us a little tour and left us off at the club level concierge.

When we were at the Poly last summer - there was a CL check in right in the lobby as soon as you enter the main building. No one greeted us outside but we went right up to the CL check in and the person apologized for not being outside - she was doing something for another guest. She was so nice - I said "No problem" and we waited until she was done. We love the Poly.

Thanks for the YC CL info focusondisney! Can you tell me if there has been oatmeal every morning? Dh and I love to start our day with some. Also, and chefs doing stations at all?

Branflakes, what an awesome upgrade! Did you put any special requests in prior?

Never mind, I'll try posting photos when I get home. I'm struggling to figure out how to do it on my phone.

Yes, oatmeal & grits every morning with toppings. There have been chefs around at app time, but they are not doing any "stations" or food prep in the lounge. I have seen one woman several times; she has been checking on the food area & tonight she kind of wandered the lounge, asking how folks were liking the food. There were 2 other male chefs in the lounge tonight also, the one seemed to be showing the other around.

Thanks for the update! We check in next Monday. So excited to get there! I wonder if they stick to a similar rotation each week?

Never mind, I'll try posting photos when I get home. I'm struggling to figure out how to do it on my phone.

I find it nearly impossible to post phone photos without getting back to a real computer and properly resizing them so they'll post (I use an iphone). There are some apps that will will bulk re-size photos but I haven't found one I really liked that didn't feel a bit off/shady. I'd love to know if there is a better/easier way. For the moment, what I do is login to iCloud on my real PC, download the photos I want, then resize them using the Windows photo program, then post them.

Hope you're enjoying your trip!
