DIS 20th Anniversary *UN*OFFICIAL meet ups, events and make a friend thread.

@GAN for the Jellyrolls meet on the 2nd, what time was being proposed? I know that some people were going to be doing the Star Wars Dessert Party at HS. But didn't know the timing of Jellyrolls.

I clearly need to start listening to the show. I'm missing out on all kinds of updates. Thanks for keeping us in the know

I wish I had a way to watch the show at work so I wouldn't miss them all and have to catch up later. I'm glad the rest of you are keeping on top of it so I can check for updates at lunch. Thanks for keeping us in the loop @rteetz !

No one has proposed a time yet but I would say 9-10PM ...what time does it usually get busy? I know @Madonna3 is interested -I think they may be staying at BWV, and MaryJo mentioned she was looking for a Piano night ...hope that will fit into their schedules. I see the Martin Family will be at POR the same night -I'm thinking I pop in there for an early Yehaa Bob experience and then shoot over to BW.

We are interested in Jellyrolls. No, we're not at Boardwalk this time, but we are going to the Star Wars thing on the 2nd. We would not be opposed to walking over to the boardwalk to finish out the Shenanigans after DHS.

I'm open to doing it after the DHS dessert party.

I added Ryan's schedule to the first post. :)

We'll be at Epcot on Friday, and I think Kelly & I will be going to Jelly Rolls from Epcot - maybe around 8:30/9pm. I'm not exactly sure. I don't know how crowded it will get. Nancy & Ian have the girls, so not sure if they'll make it to Jelly Rolls or not, and their friend, Cheryl, MIGHT join us later. We'll probably Uber to the Treehouse Villas after Jelly Rolls. We'll probably head out around 10:30/11pm because we're going early to Animal Kingdom the next day. (I think we'll crash on Sunday with a late wake-up... ha ha)

Maybe we should try for one of the back tables so people can join as they come in. Keep in mind that they have a cover charge - $12.

I have never been, so don't know how busy it will get. But I appreciate everyone chiming in with their thoughts. I am thinking of doing what @Madonna3 is planning - coming to Jellyrolls after DHS Fireworks Dessert Party. I didn't want to buy the ticket and then have no one be at Jellyrolls. I had planned on being at DHS most of the day anyway.

I love tequila.

It was something Pete mentioned on last week's podcast I believe but no other details are known yet and sit ups aren't open for any of the official mini-events yet

Perhaps we get more details on today's podcast

Thanks! I missed the first part of the live podcast today & i don't see it up on the site yet but @rteetz thankfully is keeping us all updated!

Latest update with info from today's show.

Thank you! Since I don't think the show from today is up on youtube yet, do you know how we are supposed to sign up for the Pirates showing? I asked in the live chat & Ryno told me anyone can sign up but did not say whether it was a silent auction for the ticket or just a sign up somewhere..

The show from today is on youtube. You will be able to sign up sometime this week, and we are to keep an eye out on the official DIS 20 thread and our emails for when the sign-up window opens. Since there are 1,000 people coming, they are saying that these spots will go quickly. Also, I think the Pirates of the Caribbean Movie meet is limited to 90. I'm about to watch the rest of the episode so I might update that amount if I said I was wrong.

I almost got the impression that tickets to the Pirates showing may be one of the things you can bid on. But I may have totally misunderstood that too.

I don' think so - the way Pete worded on the show yesterday was just that it was limited to 90 tickets and that you can buy them when they open up the registration for them

The lunch on the boat with Pete and others was something you had to bid on though

*grumble* went to book the DHS Star Wars Dessert party on the 2nd and it says there is no time available now. I knew I should have booked it sooner. I guess I will just have to keep checking to see if it opens up.

More info/thoughts on June 1st FunRun

Wanted to bring up again the idea of a FunRun 5k the morning of June 1st at Pop / AoA. For those interested, what time would work to meet? Knowing it can get warm fast I am thinking something like 7:30 but am open to other options. Thinking we can meet at the bottom of the bridge and start with the loop around the lake (it is 1.25 miles around)
Pop AoA running lap.jpg

As mentioned, I will be doing this as the June race for the RunDisney Virtual series: http://www.rundisney.com/virtual-running-shorts/

Also, there is another group doing virtual races that the fee for which goes to Give Kids the World Village as a part of the Magical Wishes for Kids fundraising campaign: http://www.bogpshiptoshore.myevent.com/ (it's not through The DIS - but still for GKTW so figure that is good!)

@Teleclashter and @safetymom - I know you and others on the team have done RunDisney events so thought I would mention this "un"official event should anyone be interested

Awesome Phil! My breakfast ADR is at 8:15. I think I might go out a bit earlier in order to make my ADR but I'd love to run part of it with those who join in.

I also want to add that Kathy from the podcast is @safetymom not webmasterKathy, they are two different people ;)

I could try to do a little earlier too just trying to be realistic with being out in pandora to 1am the night before

And thanks - I changed the post to be the Kathy I meant ;)

Not sure our plans will synch with the group, but here's what we're thinking at this point:

Animal Kingdom Pandora Meet-Up:
- Option #: 2?
- Disboards name: lowe@massed.net
- How many in your group: 2

Animal Kingdom Meet-Up:
- What time you plan to arrive at Animal Kingdom: Late afternoon/early evening
- Fastpass times/attractions acquired:
· FASTPASS: Na'vi River Journey – 7:10-8:10 p.m.
· FASTPASS: Rivers of Light – 9:50 p.m.-10:50 p.m. (Show starts at 10:30 p.m.)
- Dining reservations acquired: None. Will probably eat at Nomad Lounge between 4 and 5 p.m.

Kathy and Rick Lowe
