Hm, I could have written your last update.
Coming back from excursion and going in search of food, then picking up a lot of little things which still add up in the long run and sitting at dinner and not being able to enjoy fully as I had been full coming in.
Yeah, it's a major bummer when that happens. I have a big dinner on Friday and I will not be eating anything after I go to my 1PM hairstyling appointment. I want to be starving when the time comes.
Okay, back to comments:
That cheesesteak looks very different to what Tom had had on one of our cruises.
It didn't look like any cheesesteak that I've ever had before, but I've also never had one from Philly.
Love that you had your cocktails outside - we never wander outside with our cocktails, but it is something to remember.
How funny that the Colette is now made with pineapple - it used to be dried apricots.
We specifically went outside to sit and the waiter helped us out there. The other side is a smoking section so we avoided that. I don't know what they put in the Colette, it may have even been dried cranberries. I found that recipe on a Disney blog because I couldn't remember what they put in it.
I for one am not a huge fan of the Fois Gras Siphon - too rich for me. I had a spoonful and was done with it.
If I were to give up anything early on in the meal, that would have been the thing. I'm just going to need to remember not to eat after 2PM next time. And I am definitely going again on our next cruise.
The menu seems to have changed a bit but your food looks pretty good. Not sure we will be doing Remy on our next cruise. I have the dessert tasting booked, but it's the day we have Palo brunch and I am not sure I will be able to enjoy so many desserts in a row.
I like to kick off the cruise with Palo Brunch and the dessert is only the last sea day. Fran and I might have to discuss this one, cause our opinions on the dessert may vary.
You may now go on as I am all caught up again.
Am I not saying that every week. It seems the weekends are the only time I can find enough time to be here - but then I had some serious planning to do for our summer trip. I will reveal soon.
Thank you for your blessing!
I can't wait to hear about your summer plans. We are still working to get out of the apartment to go on the EBPC!
Can't make yourself do it, huh?
I hate to be a broken record, but we still need to get our stuff out of the old house! I don't have time for that stuff!
Just that one thing! Not the whole place!
I've already forgotten what we were talking about.
Plus too lazy to go back and look it up!
I've never used Google docs... but will very soon. We're introducing them at work for training slot times at some of our busier airports.
It's pretty neat. It doesn't have as many of the cool features I like in MS Word, but for simple TRs and journaling it works just fine.
13 decks? That thing will never float.
And they said nothing could sink the Titanic.
Nor mine.
Ruby's and my first trip to Hawaii about 20 years ago.
I'd read that there was one beach that was considered one of the best in the world.
So we went to check it out.
We drove over. Walked onto it.... said "Yup. Nice beach."
And then left. We were there for under 5 minutes.
And that was enough.
I loved the beach as a kid. As an adult I mostly looked at it from restaurants and bars. In Dec of 2015, I went out into the ocean at
Castaway Cay. I decided that I like it better from the bar.
Huh. Didn't know that.
How did you?
Long Beach can be Miami, a quiet street in a Midwestern suburb, an Art Deco era city, all kinds of stuff. There are film crews working here all the time. In fact they have filmed on my street at least five times in the three years we've lived here. You see the signs all around town directing the actors, extras, prop managers and Kraft Food Services, etc. to the location of filming. They never say "CSI: Miami" on their signs or everyone and their brother would be barging in on the set. So they give it some kind of codename. But yes, a lot of CSI Miami was filmed here. The recently cancelled show Rosewood had a 10 second shot filmed at a house nearby and they were there all day for less than 30 seconds of filming. I recognized the scene when the episode aired.
We're starting to sound like Forrest Gump and shrimp.
Never saw the entire movie, must do it someday.
That's not bad for the price. I think much longer would be too long, no?
Yeah, any longer and I would have gotten ancy.
Brave, considering her upset tummy earlier.
She thinks the strangest things soothe her tummy. Doesn't listen to medical advice or reason.
That looks good. I really like a good salad.
I'm assuming they meant you to make a salad with the burger toppings, otherwise the dressing wouldn't have been out there. it hit the spot, obviously a little too well.
Can you tell me more about that? Everyone gets one? Or did you find one somewhere and use it to call the room?
This is one thing that Disney completely excels with. I don't remember whether it was a cruise thread or a group on that "other" site we're not allowed to mention here, but someone said that on a different cruise line, to communicate between your parties you had to buy the wireless plans and then connect your own cell phone to their network to talk to your cabin mates. On
DCL each cabin is equipped with two "wave" phones which are essentially cell phones that work on the ship. They are coded to your stateroom and you get charged $250 if you lose one, but you can call from the phone to the room or from phone to phone, and it's all at no charge.
You know it's special when it takes forever to get it.
I had already waited five minutes for my panini.
Boy, she really was hungry!
Actually that's normal for her for a lunch. She's always much more hungry than me.
I had read a sign that said you should never put ketchup on a hotdog.
I do.
So. pbbbtttt.
I like mine with mustard and onions, but she likes ketchup and mayo. It's the Chicago folks who say it should never have ketchup. I'm not a fan of ketchup so I don't care for it, but I don't hold it against folks who like it.
I do see. Not quite sure why you pointed it out.
Just for info? Or because it was far? Or?
Mostly for info, in case someone else wants to book a private tour. One of the tour companies suggested that Fran should just walk to the loading location. There is no way she could walk all that way.
It was good!
Oh, no!!!!!!!! I just did!!! I highlighted the text and clicked "Quote"! Sorry!
Sure! Why not?
You mean this?
I guess so....I had to google it to find out what the siphon part meant,
That looks amazing! I so want.
I suspected as much after our lunch. I am also partial to lemon desserts.
Yes lemon > maple pumpkin
Alison was glad she wore a dress an not pants as she feared that she would pop the pant's button, sending it caroming across the restaurant.
Actually I only own a couple pairs of pants with buttons and zippers. Most are elastic waist pants for that exact reason. I do not like to be tied to certain size waistline. However, when I do wear those types of pants, I usually get in trouble because I forget about the zipper and walk around half the day with it open.
No way! Wow! That's service!
Yeah, and we didn't even ask him, he did it all on his own!
That's so sad you were at Remy and too full
Everything looks so yummy!
It was very sad. I will be sure never to do that again. Remember how good I was that day at Epcot when we had dinner at V&A's that night? I needed to have tha diligence!
All caught up again! Looks like a fun tour of the island, and Remy looks really yummy!
Thanks! I'm glad you are able to stay caught up!
