D23 EXPO THREAD - See you in 2019!

So much good stuff on the schedule now! I don't know how I will be able to pick between some of these things, why can't I be in two or three places at once!
How in the world do you choose what to do at the Expo? So many choices! Yikes!
Here is what I do: I decide my important things and just focus on those and anything else is extra.

For me I have three top events in the Main Hall:

1. Animated movies
2. Live Action movies
3. Parks & Resorts

Then I usually get in another few sessions here and there and happy with whatever I get.

Sunday seems particularly bad to me.
It's Saturday that's killing me. I don't mind missing Live Action but pretty much everything else that day hits either mine or my wife's sweet spots hard. And I really wish they hadn't scheduled Joe Quesada at 1:15 on Friday. That's making several other options very awkward.

I received an email that D23 sent me links for buying discounted Disneyland tickets yesterday. Of course, I never got the actual email with the links and I even checked my spam folder which was empty. So I asked for it again.

Since I'm going to Disneyland for 2 days prior and maybe one evening during the Expo, I'd really like those discounts. They are going to drive me crazy trying to get them.:Pinkbounc

Upon closer inspection really it's Friday at 2:30 that's killing me.

Animation, golden girls, potc, ink & paint and Disney legends 30th would all be in my top ten.

I suppose golden girls to potc would be impossible since one ends at 3:30 which is when the other starts.

Are you a D23 member? I do not think you need the email for that. I think going straight through their website allows you to buy those tickets if it recognizes you have bought the Expo tickets already.

I've never done one of the panels where they don't allow devices in, but if I remember correctly, they did checking and picking up after in 2013. In 2015 they handed you a loud crinkly bag to put your stuff in so they could hear if you tried to take it out to record, but you kept it with you.

What that meant at D23 Expo 2015 is they give everyone an opaque bag with a strong seal on it and ask you to put recording devices in it, and seal it before you enter the Hall. Then during the event there are lots of security people walking around looking to see if anyone has pulled anything out. If so, then you will be removed. Not sure what else happens to you.

I did this three times for Animated movies, Live action movies and Parks & Resorts.

Ah, I get it now. Thank you both for the clarification!

Hi Everyone! So excited to have found this group! What an awesome, helpful group of Disney fans!
I read on the Advanced Lineup Procedures that overnight parking isn't allowed at the convention center. Does anyone know when parking is open for the day?

Today marks one month away from the first day of the expo! Time to finalize plans and start buying snacks and equipment.

In 2015 I arrived to the convention center at approx. 5:45a on the Saturday and they were already letting cars into the parking structure on property. I heard about an hour after that it had already been filled. You'll probably be better off calling the convention center directly.

@Daniella1215 I agree with @Curlyxz, you probably would get the best information by calling the ACC directly. All we can offer is anecdotal stories about what happened previously and that information doesn't mean that's what will happen in 2017.

It suddenly feels like the Expo is super close!

just got back from the mailbox - got our D23 Expo event passes!! So excited! came with a letter giving a brief breakdown of rules such as parking, security and entrance locations!
Woo Hoo!!

I have a couple of questions in regards to the presentations in Hall D23. Obviously those are the primary events that most will want to view and I had a question about that. We (our family) have the D23 Gold Family membership. I know it says we would have "priority seating for presentations in Hall D23". My question was how does that work? I also read that queue lines begin the night prior at 10:00 pm. As I am trying to plan things out in advance is that something we would need to do (Camp out all night) or is there a separate procedure for D23 Gold Family Membership?

I am a gold member and I have not heard anything about priority seating in the Halls.

From the 2015 Expo, there was no need to camp out for Hall D23. They had 7,500 seats. If they do the same thing again (does anyone know yet?), you will want to go to the queue/waiting area which was downstairs. As soon as you get into the ACC get a spot in line for the Hall. Leave someone there to hold your spot then explore the Expo. Everyone who wants to go into the Hall needs to show up with you initially. They gave out colored wrist bands to prevent folks from holding spots for those who have not yet come.

There's been no information yet about how the gold member lines will work. Honestly, don't expect it to be that much of a perk. There are thousands of gold members. It will probably be no benefit at all, but we should be hearing something soon about it.

Thanks yeah that is what I figured. I just wasn't overly thrilled with the thought of camping out all night :(

It will probably be as much of a perk as the "early entry" was.
