I always wear a baseball cap in the parks but have this weird fear it's going to blow off on a ride. Probably because my hat fell off a ride at Six Flags when I was like 5 and scarred me for life haha! I don't take my hat of for any of the slow moving rides but anything with a little bit of speed I take it off even though I see so many people keeping their hats on.

Just wanted to see what other hat wearers do. Which rides do you always take your hat off on?

All the coasters, even the small ones and Tower of Terror. I lost my sons hat (he loaned it to me because it was raining) on SDMT last trip. I would also pull it off at the end of Splash and Test Track.

My dad lost his baseball cap that he had JUST had autographed by Goofy on Everest.

depends on the ride....most of the roller coasters I turn my hat backwards....however on Rock and roller coaster I take it off, and also on Everest....test track is a hat backwards ride

I wear a hat because I'm folliclely challenged. But I absolute HATE them, so frankly I take it off on each and every ride. Only exception would be if it's one that last more than a minute or so and is outdoors.

This. Pretty much only rockin rollercoaster I take my hat off.

I wear snapbacks so if I'm going on anything fast I'll just tighten it one more notch.

Turn it backwards and haven't had any issue on Everest, ToT, Test track, Big Thunder

My hat actually flew off the log flume at Kennywoood in PA. Luckily, somehow it was fished out and returned to me; it felt great to wear a wet hat on that hot day!

As a result, I take my hat off now on roller coasters, flumes, etc.

The log flume at Six Flags in NJ is where I lost my hat when I was 5!

I lost my Orioles cap going down the drop on Everest back in 2013. Thought it was gone forever.
When I got off to look at the photos, a young girl came up and gave me my cap back.
We were near the front of the train and it must have slapped her in the face a few rows back.
Nice catch, still have the cap. But I did learn my lesson from then on.....turn it around.

I always wear a baseball cap also. I do the backwards deal on most coasters. If the hat is loose fitting and I cannot tighten I take it off but only on Rock n Rollercoaster or Test Track.

In addition to what people have mentioned so far, a surprise one is Journey Into Imagination with Figment. Towards the end of the ride you get blasted in the face with air, and if it hits your hat at the right angle it could definitely blow it off.

I always wear a hat and have never taken it off for any rides, I do tighten it for EE, RnRC, SM, BTMR, ToT, I have never lost a hat.
Now at Universal they make you take your hat off on all the roller coasters

Sadly my Dads hat was never recovered on Everest. We checked everyday for the whole week and filed a report at lost and found. He loved that hat. It was a discontinued style so I haven't even been able to replace it. The light blue Goofy Through The Years hat.

My dad nearly lost his Animal Kingdom straw sun hat on the little hill on Pirates. He managed to pull off some ninja nonsense and catch it, unfortunately. Thankfully he never wears it anymore, but man I wish he had lost it.

Over the years I've lost so many fitted caps at Cedar Point that I've finally learned my lesson and just leave them at home.

I wear a cap as well, I take it off on all coasters and ToT. I just wrap the strap around my hand though, I don't put it in the little pockets.

Flight of Passage.
The fan blowing on your face is so strong at a couple points it almost knocked my hat off once. I had to hold onto it for the rest of the ride. I now put it in the storage bin.
