Woohoo late to the game and just booked our stay for 8/20-8/24, in the park 8/21-8/23. Coming down from NorCal!

Tomorrow morning at 7am, I can do early check-in for our flight!!! Dog sitter has not responded, oh please don't let her back out!

Leave in the am. Kids still have NO idea. I said today 'this time tomorrow we will be in california" My older son said "will we be driving?" To which I said-probably. (it would be about an hour after our flight. They think we are driving to sequoia tomorrow.

We will be in Anaheim tomorrow morning. We aren't planning on going to the park tomorrow but something tells me I will be adding a day to my tickets. The kids are bouncing off the walls (in all honesty, it's not just the kids).

Excited for the surprise!!! Our pet sitter bailed on us at 6:30 this morning!!!! She tells me that she has a full time job now and is at school 12 hours a day?? Huh? When she accepted a month ago, she said she has an open summer (freshman in college not starting until later this month!) but then she goes on to say that she still wants to housesit?? We have five animals! She'd be here to sleep only?? After a brief panic, I found another young girl that seems very dependable! Praying it'll work out! We fly out at 7am

What a stress!!! I'm so glad you found someone on such short notice. That first person really put you in a tough spot! Honestly, worrying about my dog is the hardest part of arranging my vacations!

I've hit the "panic" moment - I'm in the middle of changing banks and I haven't gotten my debit card from my new bank yet. It should have been here Monday. Ugh!

I also haven't figured out transportation from the airport since I currently have this issue. I'm hoping I can resolve it today, but I'm so panicked that it won't be here in time.

Ahhh! I'm sending you positive thoughts. Hopefully the mailman comes early today with an envelope containing that debit card!!!

Im throwing on my "former banking employee" hat here to give you a few possible options about the debit card in case any of these might work in your situation (I don't want you to have to travel without a card!)...when I worked in banking, and we had a customer who needed a card by a certain date, we had an option to expedite a debit card & have it arrive in 2 business days. There was a fee for this service (usually $25-$50 depending on your financial institution) & someone needed to be available to sign for the card.

What I usually suggested, if the customer was able to come to our branch, was to expedite the card to our branch where we would sign for it (meaning the customer didn't have to rearrange their schedule to sit around & wait for the card) and we would call them. They would come down, pick up the card, encode their PIN number & activate their card and be ready to travel. You could also have the card expedited to your home, if going to the branch isn't an option, but usually (for security reasons) the PIN is mailed separately and comes later, so if you use this option you might only be able to use your card as "credit" and not "debit" (meaning, no cash back, would take a day or two to post to your account). In either of these cases they would block & cancel the old card number, so if it arrived later, you would just destroy it.


Also, many financial institutions have the ability to create at least an ATM card, if not a visa/MasterCard debit card, on the spot at the branch, so it might be worth it to call them, tell them your card hasn't arrived yet, explain your travel plans and ask if they could do either the "create at branch" option, or the expediting option. An ATM card, while not as great as a debit card, is still better than having go take cash only for all of your travel needs!

I can't remember your exact travel date, but know it is coming up soon, so hopefully one of these options might work for you? GOOD LUCK, I hope the rest of the pre-trip stuff goes smoothly!!

This is what I ended up doing! One of my best friends/travel companions used to work at a bank so I was hoping this would work out. I emailed Customer Support first just to be on the safe side then headed over to the bank and they were super busy but were able to get me my debit card and cancel the one that got lost in the mail!

So happy I was just able to snag a new reservation for the Fantasmic Dining Package at Blue Bayou on Aug. 22! We had a reservation for Monday, Aug. 21 at 8:30 but really wanted to be at DCA that night for the extra extra magic hour so I've been checking multiple times a day for a week and finally something came up! I have a BB Fantasmic reservation on the 21st at 8:30 that I will be cancelling if anyone is looking... it was for a party of 5.

@DellyHoliday and @BriannaRuth I found out earlier this week that we have to go to a wedding brunch Sunday at 11am, then meeting up with family friends in the afternoon in Beverly Hills. Not sure if the boys will be up for wandering around either park so we'll see if we even walk into the parks Sunday evening. I think I would prefer to do RD instead. Plus we have 3 day PH so I believe we get to enter DLR an hour early on Tuesday morning.

We are coming from Atlanta and I just saw a page back that the lows will be 60s and 70s. How hot is "hot" in the parks? We did WDW for spring break back in April in 90 degree weather with no problems.

I am so disappointed. After moving this trip twice we are now officially cancelling. My husband was unexpectedly laid off Wednesday so we can't justify taking a vacation right now. I'm hopeful he will have a new job within a month but since we don't know what the future holds we have to let this one go.

What that does mean is I will be cancelling a Fantasmic! dining package for a party of 5 at River Belle Terrace August 15th at 4:40. And one for a party of 2 same day and time if anyone would like to try to coordinate picking those up.
