Got back late Sunday night from AKL Kadani Village. I absolutely loved it!!!
Want to thank you all for the suggestions and info here on the Disboards on things to do and food to try.
So I did take the advice about Rose & Crown for Illuminations. I had to get 2 ADR for 7:45pm, one for 4 people and one for 2. Checked in at 7:30 and asked if we could be seated together, no problem, then I asked for a table on the balcony, again no problem. So we had a great seat for the show. Then during the show a hot ash landed on my 20 year old daughters leg and it didn't burn her, it left a little red mark, but did scare her. When she was hit by the ash she had her phone in her hands and she threw it in the air so we all watched as it went over the railing and bounced towards the water. It finally stopped and she was able to reach through and get it. Screen was cracked but at least she didn't lose it!!!
We did the Tusker House ROL breakfast at 10:30 am. We did not get to see any lunch items or try them so if that is your plan try for an ADR at 10:45. Did see ROL show It was not as exciting as I thought it would be, but it was different and nice to see.
Pandora was nice to see in the day light. Night was just to dark for me. Had FP for Navi 1 day at AK, was great. Then our second day at AK we had FP for FOP, that was awesome!!! The wait for this was at 210 min at one point. The people we went with said it would of been worth the wait if we did have to wait for it. So if you have the time to do it, I would try.
The weather was good to us, as far as the rain goes but heat wise, it was Hot!! It did rain the night of MNSHHP but we were heading back to the bus stop when it really started to come down. We did do all the candy stops and did do a lot of the rides, but did not do SDMT, Splash Mtn or Thunder Mountain. Did not see the parade or do any meet and greats. So I have decided that if we go again during the party times we will do 2 parties, one for the Trick or Treating and rides and one for the meet and greats, fireworks and parade.
Took the shuttle from Kadani to Jambo a few times, there gift shop is much better than the one at Kadani, and did not have to wait long at all for those.
Buses to the parks were great. No long waits. One day we were on our way to the bus stop and I asked if everybody had there Magicbands, of course there was one that didn't. So they went back to get it and as they were just coming down the bus we wanted was just leaving. So that was our longest wait 15-20 min. I liked the fact that it was just AK Lodge bus and did not have to make stops for any other hotels. Most of the time it dropped us off at Kadani before going to Jambo. And picking up was usually Kadani first then stopped at Jambo. So keep that in mind.
I did ask about the screens at the bus stops, the ones with the expected arrival of the buses for each park and if they would be on the app. He said that it should be about 3 months or so but it will be on the app at some point.
Did get some photos on rides that I did not know took them. POTC and Frozen are the 2 that come to mind.
As for anything bad: This is Just My Opinion so please don't take any offense to this
To us it just seemed like there was a lot of pushy and rude people this time. I don't know how many times we were plowed into with no sorry or excuse me being said, just rude comments. Don't get me wrong there were a lot of nice people but this was just not what I am use to experiencing and seeing at WDW. The last time we went to Florida we went Disney and a different park, it was a whole different atmosphere at the other park then at Disney and I don't want Disney to go down that path.
At one point me and my friend were waiting for our families to get on a ride and we saw 2 grown men, 1 probably late 50's the other early 40's, racing in scooters and almost collided with each other. I just don't think that MK is the place to be doing thinks like that.
Then we were in line for POTC and a women in front of us was in a wheel chair. It said Magic Kingdom on the back and she had a bandage with ice wrapped around her ankle. We asked if she twisted her ankle and they told us that a women in a motorized
scooter ran over her foot. They said the women didn't stop or say she was sorry to her. She just kept going. It was the second day of vacation for them and they had 7 more days to go. It had happened at 1:00 and when we saw them it was 5:00. And this was the first ride they had been on all day. They had kids and didn't want to ruin the day for them so he said he will take her to the ER after they leave the park. They ended up on the ride with us and she was having a real hard time getting on and off the boat. My daughter, who is an LNA at a nursing home, made sure that she got off the boat ok. I am very proud of her for doing that. That is the type of things I like to see at Disney.
Like I said this is just my opinion and how I feel about it.
But all in all we did have a great time!!
