Contemporary info for the next two days

Hello everyone! I'm here at beautiful Kidani Village in a 2 bedroom with my husband, our 3 teenaged daughters, my sister and nephew. We have tons of food and water in the fridge. We all have cellphones and will keep them charged. We plan of filling up all bath tubs with water just in case. Yesterday we decided to go to AK to see Pandora for the first time. We got to do FoP and RJ and loved everything about them. We left after that because the parks were closing in a half hour. Saw plenty of pets at Jambo House and some here. Lots of food available for purchase. I'm going to ask about flashlights and extra towels because we haven't received those yet. CMs are all really wonderful. God bless and keep everyone safe in the path of this hurricane.

I'll be checking on you all regularly and updating as time goes on.

Super unimpressed with service at the Polynesian. No real info made public, and conflicting at best.

So many other resorts here had info laid out and made public, while here they just decided that Ohana will have a breakfast buffet, but no info on anything else

PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE. Just mild rain this morning. So far we have been told that breakfast will be available until 11:00. They are encouraging everyone to buy the bagged lunches as they do not know if the food court will be open past that. (Curfew for us (Orange County) from 7 tonight until 6 tomorrow night). You can get the Bounty Breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuit, roasted potatoes) for $10 or French Toast and bacon and sausage for $8.49. Also pastries are available and they are prepackaged in the clear containers already. You can pay cash or use the dining plan. The food court is not a zoo and quite calm.

So far everything is very organized and seems like every other day (I wish:genie:).

Have you gone to lobby? Is there any info posted there? That is strange. I saw they were doing a $20 buffet I think.

We did. CM told us Captain Cooks has a smaller QS menu and Ohana is doing breakfast for 15.

No info on Kona or any other meals at Ohana

When we went down there were no signs posted about current resort offerings.

Seeing pictures of other resorts handing out breakdowns of what is going on there and nothing here is depressing. The Contemporary looks like nothing is closed at all.

Stuck at the Contemporary but our original plans were to visit family in Tampa so we're grateful to be safe here.

I haven't had a chance to read through all the posts so maybe this is repeat info, but here goes-

Chef Mickey's is open but no characters will be there today.

The complimentary movies are according to a preselected schedule, they're not on demand. Today is Frozen at 9am, followed by Hercules, Meet the Robinsons, Beauty & the Beast 2017, The Lion King, A Goofy Movie, and Toy Story. They also have entertainment for the kids but it seems like most of it will be aimed at older kids (I'm here with my 3 y/o and 1 y/o) i.e. Name that tune, Trivia, "Notable Quotable" etc.

I keep hearing that people were getting 40% off their rooms since they're stuck here- we did NOT get that offer at all. The best they would do was 15% off (I booked our room with the enchanted offer at 30% off so we're actually paying MORE to stay here due to the hurricane) and then they said Monday night they don't consider us displaced so they only gave us 10% off. The earliest flight we could get was Wednesday (we were originally flying out of Tampa on Tues but I already switched our flights to Orlando and the earliest they had was Wed.) I am definitely going to ask again at the front desk about the 40% off I keep hearing about.

I'm so happy Disney is making sure everyone is taken care of and being Disney about the whole thing. I hope you all and all the CMs who there with you remain safe!
