***Riding out the hurricane at a Disney resort? Post your experiences here!***

One thing I will say is big trees at least in my area NE KS have a habit of being pulled out by the roots during some of our intense storms-they just get pulled out and lay on their side exactly like the picture. Shallow roots I guess? IDK what root system the trees have here in Orlando. Hopefully that tree stays down and doesn't move until this has passed-from what I can tell it doesn't look like it damaged a structure? Hopefully it didn't.

Please be safe everyone. We've filled up any empty container we have with water and we haven't tapped into the water bottles we do have quite yet. We've made a pitcher of mango flavored crystal light (maybe I can imagine I'm sitting on a nice sunny beach :) ) and moved all suitcases well away from the window and door. In our bathroom area (where you have the ironing board and iron) is food we brought with us in our suitcase plus the water containers we have and other things.

I'm not quite certain when we'll be going to sleep honestly especially moreso since the track changed.

Pressure from the storm is really hurting my ears (they are sensitive). Wind is loud at AKL. Haven't seen any animals from peeking out the doors. I hope they are safe!
That's been me all day with the pressure. I have sensitive ears myself. I've taken ibuprofen throughout the day to try and help (I've gotten a mild headache as well with the pressure adjustments). Even though the pollen level is lower I took my allergy medicine. I switched to a nasal one instead of an oral one and it really has helped the pressure in my ears that seems to have gotten pretty bad this year with my allergies.

I hope you're feeling better or can take something you think may help you!!

It is amazing me. Although it shouldn't as I always have these issues, this is just a very unique situation I guess. I wish I had brought some meds! Hope you feel better too!

Does putting a warm wash cloth behind your ears help? I sometimes get ear pain from allergies. I find this can help if I don't have my Debrox ear wax remover and squeezy ear bulb.

Honey I Shrunk the Kids started a few minutes ago on 31 for anyone still up!

#blastfromthepast on that one! Still fun though!

I was told they won't put the zebras inside. Not sure about the wildebeest and impalas, they have been out all day too.

Sometimes the stress of containing animals is enough to kill them. I'm guessing that might be the case here?
Wonder if that changed with the storm headed for Orlando or if there are enough "natural" shelters on the savannas they were already running their 100 mph wind plans (probably the later imho as WDW is coming across as very prepared in general). I would NOT want to be in charge of rounding zebras up in a hurricane! Although I would never want to try to round Zebras up period...
