Happy birthday, Dee. I hope you had electricity for your birthday celebration.
There is nothing wrong with ordering an ECV! I know it "just a toe" but still- it's your TOE- that's a part of you! If an ECV might stop your pain please look into it and don't feel weird about it!I did tape it, and walked the first day...after several hours it was throbbing pretty bad. Tried the knee roller today at AK and it affected my knee so much, I think I'll probably abandon that idea...plus, the cracks and rocks in the pathways at AK made it very difficult to use there. I'll try tonight with just a cane to steady myself...it is feeling better, maybe because of using the roller and staying off it...my knee, well it's just not so fun when the joints start to breakdown!
Yep!
So if we want to go straight to TT or Soarin’, how do we do that at RD from the international gateway entrance? Do you just walk through WS even though it’s still closed at that hour??

Yup.
Now that I am powered up, rested up and working on getting caffeinated, I can post a couple of pictures of meet ups from last week.
Thanks.First thing in the morning, we were on our way to the EMH, so around 7:40.
We had a great time at WDW with Dee, Ninja Mom, Janet, Nannette, Teena and her friend. We are hoping that there is another trip with them in the future.
And speaking of the BC bus stop, we have been walking over to the yacht club bus stop, and after picking up most of the passengers from there, for every Park we have gone to, there really has not been any room left for the beach club passengers. Last night, we left an hour before a FastPass would expire, at Animal Kingdom. We sat at the BC bus stop for 20 minutes before a time even came up on the bus bored. The time that was listed on the bus board was another 20 minutes away. We ditched the bus stop, and took a Minnie Van, otherwise we would have not made it in time. We're done with the bus stop at the beach club for leaving. But drop-offs are still good. For those of you interested in the construction of the resort Convention Center- here are a couple of pictures taken from the Beach Club bus stop.

Also, for anyone interested., if you are staying at a resort that is currently heart of the minivan service, once the concierge desk puts the code on your phone, you can use it at any Resort in the future whether or not they are part of the service. Just a nice little tidbit I thought I'd pass on!
Just got back from a five-night stay at YC. We had been to BC back in '99 or so but this was our first time at YC. Loved it! When we got there, we found we had been upgraded from garden view to lagoon view. We got a room just above the lobby on the third floor. A tree blocked some of the view but we didn't care. I liked the proximity to the lobby as I'm still recovering from a badly sprained foot and the less walking the better.
Refurbed rooms were nice. I know some have complained about "de-theming" but I think it's kind of nice to have a break from theming for a bit. Housekeeping was very good - we got extra coffee and toiletries without having to ask, and it was always done by early afternoon. i was worried that the laminate floor would present a noise problem but the whole resort was remarkably quiet and if there was anybody above us, I never heard them. I'd brought a white noise machine anyway, and we used it because my spouse snores.
We made good use of Stormalong Bay. I especially liked the whirlpool section, which I don't recall using back in '99. The kid and I had fun in the arcade. We also made use of the to-go window for Beaches and Cream.
Spouse and I are mulling over an empty-nest trip in a few years and we'd definitely stay at YC again (hoping that the proposed experiment with allowing pets will have fizzled out by then).
Any suggestions on rooms to request? Traveling with DW, DS7 and DS-10 mos. We have water view at the BC, and we would much prefer an upper floor (3+) with a view of crescent lake rather than a pool, and would like a full balcony if possible (but would be ok with a standing balcony).
How about renting one of those knee/ankle scooters...it can double as a seat during those long queues and waits....
My niece used one after breaking her ankle, and the folks at Disney treated her like a Princess their whole trip!
These work great for small spurts but holy cow if you are stuck using it for long periods they are not the best. Knee hurts from the "pad" , hip of leg doing all the work kills after a bit, and everyone not paying attention hits foot etc.
Spent 3 months using one and while my foot and leg were strong as all get out...my back from leaning to steer and hip and knee were not happy, and uneven surfaces aren't great either. I can see it working with a little kid who is light but for adults who are taller etc I'd do an electric scooter before a knee scooter at disney.
OH MY GOSH! I'm so sorry you're going through this, though I'm very glad they caught it before you got bit or brought them home with you! I hope tomorrow is better.
on another note, I *just* switched to BC from POR because of the dog issue....now I have to worry about the bed bugs???? GAH!
I'm reading through this thread so I apologize if its been asked, but is anything going on at beach and yacht club the beginning of August. We are planning our 3rd family trip for august 5th to10th and all the standard rooms are booked.
Its less to stay somewhere else then upgrade to pool or lagoon.
Didnt know if its a glitch or really booked up! Thanks and back to reading.
