Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

The TPV rooms are on the far left. They do not have the noise issue from the lobby because they are not near it. However the fireworks and music will be heard because they pipe in the music right below. TPV on floors 3 and 4 fyi.
I'm confident I won't be going to sleep prior to the fireworks each night so I guess I'll be fine. I did put in a room request for 4th floor with DSS and Touring Plans fax, so I hopefully I get the higher floor. Forgot there's no TP view rooms on the 5th.

What time did the noise die down? Also do you think the 4th or 5th floor might be quieter? Currently we have a TP view room request in for the 4th floor and I wasn't worried about noise from the room info on TouringPlans' website. Now I'm slightly concerned (for me sleeping, not my kid who is dead to the world after she falls asleep noise wise).

We stayed on the 4th floor and could still hear it. I always travel with a fan and it was enough to keep the noise at bay. I'm a light sleeper and didn't have any trouble.

Yep! Spoiled you will be.

We live on the west coast and will have managed to squeak out four trips by the time our first ever annual pass expires in April. I am already sad and having Disney withdrawals and still have our last trip to experience! Can't imagine what boarding that Tragical Express is going to do to me.

Impressive - especially from the west coast! I hadn't even thought about that last Tragical Express ride in April!:sad::sad: I don't think I can go back to once every one to two years! I'm going to have to start working on at least a long weekend on our "off" years with my DH...

This isn’t specific to club level, but I knew you guys would be able to answer the best.... I know the yacht club now has wood floors, has any other hotel been refurbished with wood floors? Thanks.

Pop Century (refurb is happening now, about 50% complete)
Caribbean Beach (refurb is happening now, just started)
Coronado Springs (refurb is happening now, about 40% complete)
POFQ (refurb is happening now, about 10% complete)

And all of these are getting wood floors?

In regards to your question about room requests: We are headed to WL Easter weekend and I just emailed DSS last week regarding room requests. I was particularly curious about whether it was now necessary to actually request a room on the 7th floor for WL CL. Our reservation for this upcoming trip states "Standard Room - Club Level Access", where in the past, it just said "Club Level". I would prefer to be on the 7th floor to be close to the lounge and wondered if I needed to request it.

The response that I recieved indicated that I should request it, if it was my preference. They noted my request, but I was informed of the following: "it is possible that you will not be placed on the 7th Floor. I will say that with your room being a "Standard Room - Club Level Access" room, you could be placed on any floor between levels 1-7. The only rooms that we guarantee are on the 7th Floor are the Yosemite VP Suite and the Honeymoon Room."

Just sharing in case being on the 7th floor is important to you. If you have a deluxe category room, none of those are on 7th floor, and this information won't be important. But, if you have a standard or courtyard room CL (access), it may be. Our Standard CL room last summer (on 7th floor) had an awesome view of the Contemporary and Magic Kingdom.

Not sure if this new situation is temporary or will be ongoing now for WL CL. Have a great trip!

This is very interesting to me, thank you for this info.

I thought maybe that wording on the website was temporary for some reason, but more and more this is seeming to point to WL being a “CL access” resort vs the prior setup, where rooms can be on any floor vs. just 7 like DSS said.

This frankly makes sense to me, from a business/capacity perspective. The ‘new’ WL setup had approx 36 rooms, which is over half the capacity of most other CLs. That’s tiny.

If this is in fact a permanent setup, I wonder how many rooms they allocate to CL. Very, very interesting!

Thanks again.

I read that the Yacht and Beach Club doesn't like you taking wine or beer back to your room? My friend at the BWI a couple years ago took a few unopened beers back to her room. I had no problems doing so at the AKL, but that was a long time ago.

Can anyone comment? I prefer to relax in our room with a drink most afternoons (but don't have a club room booked currently, just curious). My dream is to do GF RPC; working on deciding between that and what we have booked which is a BCV 1BR villa for our 25th anniversary late May (we spent 4 nights of our honeymoon at the GF, and stayed there again with our oldest once). Can't wrap my head around a room costing $1k a night for 8 nights, and I do not like a split stay.
We never had a problem taking wine or food back to the room from the lounge at the YC or any other CL lounge.

Wow! That's a lot of balls in the air, lol! But that's so fun to be planning multiple trips! Still nothing today so the wait continues!

I ended up with the AP because I had a trip with my sisters scheduled last April (YC CL - super fun!), then my DD11's dance studio announced a November dance trip, and it worked out to make financial sense to get the AP, especially as we were going to extend the trip a few days. Then my DH blew out his knee and they moved the trip to January, which is a tougher time to extend the trip and takes the kids out of school, and they expected a long recovery for my DH. Anyway, we decided it would just be myself and my DD for that trip - which ended up being last week (also super fun and a great experience, but I may not be cut out for group trips!). So then we planned a longer family trip for April since the AP was burning a hole in my pocket! Right now we're booked CL at AKL, and everyone is thrilled with that but hoping for a better deal and always open to resort changes - haven't found one I didn't enjoy so I am happy to follow the deal! It would be nice to lock it down, however, in case I need to swap out some things like the few ADRs we have or park days due to location...

Otherwise, we're a flight away so we generally don't due multiple trips in a year . I fear that I will be spoiled after this year! :mickeybar
Ouch on the knee. Hope he is on the mend by your trip in April. We were skiing out west 2 years ago and DH did a jump that took him clear into the next jump. Wile E Coyote style. Sigh. That was a long recovery. It’s hard on everybody.

We bought APs when they had the 13 months for the price of 12 knowing it would cover 2 years of our annual end of summer follies. Since we travel a lot with another family, the other mom and I decided we’d really get maximum value by us doing 2 F&W trips just us. We had APs we said. Christmas was we’ve never seen it decorated, and June was we are practically there, let’s make a long weekend out of it. I can’t justify renewing again, but it sure has been nice while it lasted. Disney’s shrewd move of 13-for-12 has done them well.

Good luck on scoring a better deal!

This is me! Got the 13 month AP. First trip 10 days for Flower & Garden. Hey, Pandora is open, let's take a quick trip (Well, coming from the west coast, five days IS a quick trip!). Christmas decorations and our 25th Anniversary deserves a 13 day celebration, and one more 10 day for F&G. I think we got good use out of our AP! Whatever will we do for vacation once it has expired? :confused3

I think we will have to visit DL to assuage our withdrawals. The last time we were there was 1993. Think it might have changed a bit? Lol

Just had to share....my Dad surprised my Mom and I with a last minute trip to Walt Disney World AND we are staying AKL Club Level for the first time! We've stayed at AKL many times and we've even booked AKL Club in the past but we've always had to cancel or switch resorts for one reason or another. We leave on Feb 23rd!

Thankfully I was able to get all the dining reservations we wanted. I even managed to snag myself a Flight of Passage FastPass (I still have absolutely no idea how lol).

What a great surprise! Hope you have a great time and enjoy AKL CL :wizard:.

All great reasons for several trips within a years time!! Disney logic at its best ::yes:: :thumbsup2

@trishadono you mentioned fetching things for your mom - does this mean you can get things from the lounge (such as breakfast for teens sleeping in or apps/wine at night to enjoy on our own balcony)? It's ok to bring food and drinks back to your room rather than consume in lounge? It's our first CL stay coming up in August (yay!), so I'm curious. Also, I contacted DSS last night, thanks to the email provided here on the DIS, about a room request and they replied to me this morning:-)

I took beer from the WL CL lounge in one of their disposable coffee cups a few afternoon to the pool. The CM suggested it.

!

Are the Honeymoon Rooms still on the other side of the lobby? They would be outside the gate. I guess I thought they went away when that side of the WL went DVC and the other side became the new lounge.

I guess this policy makes sense since they increased the size of the lounge but decreased the size of the pool of rooms on the 7th floor. Personally, this would be a deal breaker for me. We take the majority of our lounge offerings back to the room especially breakfast. As the runner, there is no way I could justify making the two trips it usually takes me without a tray. I realize other CLs have multiple floors and that is why we have stayed WL in the past. grrr but oh well, it will really make me reconsider where we stay on future trips.

This is a bummer. My first CL stay is next month at BWI, we had reserved WL at first, but switched when I found out Club Level Access meant not on the 7th floor, I thought it was temporary due to a soft goods refurbishment. We had planned on doing WL-CL next year, but I would not want to be on a different floor from the lounge, so maybe we'll just skip CL altogether at WL.
