It’s usually advised to make a separate Chase account for business cards because their business website design was terrible and your personal account would be combined into that, but it looks like they’ve rolled out a new business site design for everybody. There were also reports that merging your personal cards onto a business site would cause problems using them with Chase Pay, but I think I read that’s been fixed.

Question on Biz SPG...Once I meet the minimum spend, will the points show on the Amex site first or will they go right to the SPG account that I would logon to separate from Amex? What has been the posting time for points after the required spend? I shuffled through a couple of the pages but I didn't see it. Thanks!

I never checked the Amex site, but when I hit my minimum spend on the SPG Biz, the bonus points were in my SPG account in about 2 days.

ETA: didn’t have to wait until my statement closed.

Base points will post on AMEX with your statement close and transfer to SPG account within 1-3 days.

Your BONUS points should post on AMEX within 2-3 days of meeting the min spend requirement (once the charges post - not pending) and should transfer to SPG within 1-3 days. Bonus points will not need to wait for your statement close.

I cannot tell if I am getting the 5% or not with Discover. I can't find anywhere in my account which shows what I earned per transaction.

My DH has a Discover and he can't tell either, although I really thought it was user error, lol. I am not going to tell him other people have trouble too...I'll let him think it's him, ha!

I don’t think it does. I had to look at the total I earned on past statements and essentially reconcile with charges at gas stations and warehouse clubs. Discover did send me an email today giving me the total I’ve spent in 5% categories thus far this quarter.

Frustrating churning day. First, I checked my Discover account and figured I have $550 left for the 5% categories this quarter. Went to BJs.com and ordered a $500 Disney GC. But now they charge $5 shipping, which cuts down on the discount.
Then I have a few $100 Target GCs, needed to do a Target run anyway. Get all my crap and 2-$100 Disney GCs, total $299.98. Tried to pay with GC. The register wouldn’t even take the Target gift cards with the Disney GCs in the total. Wasn’t the cashier, I was standing there watching as she attempted to run the GC thru. No dice. Removed the Disney GCs, paid for my junk with a Target GC, then used my RedCard to separately buy one of the Disney GCs for $95. Ugh.

That was me. Sincerely hoping this isn’t turning into a trend... I’m going to try a different Target this weekend but my cashier also was not at fault and the employees there have been very helpful and understanding when I’ve used gift cards in the past.

Will do it the opposite way in a few days, just want to see the charge post and withdraw the money to my account. I'm sure it will work but that's my general paranoia - I have to see it to believe it, haha!

Do you have any other suggestions of things to do? We’re going to spend one day taking a little road trip a couple of hours north to go to the Warther Museum. But we’ll have a little time left to do something else in Cleveland.

The botanical garden is nice, and the art museum has free admission for most of the exhibits.

We also went to this cemetery, which has a lot of cool old monuments and such and President Garfield is buried there, and if I remember correctly, there's a Tiffany window in a chapel. https://lakeviewcemetery.com/

I just recently figured out how to use Chase Pay for the Freedom quarterly spend. I have NO IDEA how to use Apply Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay, or any of the other similar mobile wallets. I guess I need to get with the times.

We are SO not into sports.
We also don't drink, I'm vegetarian, DH is vegan and currently on a really strict regimen, so it's tough to find friendly food. We sound like such outrageously fun people, don't we?
But I do like exploring, and I'll definitely look at what's around 4th Street, even if it's just to wander. Thanks for the tip!

Well I decided to go ahead and downgrade my Hilton Ascend to the no fee version. Did it over chat, took less than 3 minutes. I do love Amex.

I'll be killing DH's green card as soon as the fee hits, too (next month). He's got a no fee Everyday to keep his MR points safe for now.

My Amex Plat will go away in May. So that's $550 + $95 + $95 gone. Or as I like to think of it, $740 freed up for new card fees, ha.
