I love credit cards so much!

Haven’t most of the major credit card issuers rolled back or eliminated price protection from their cards? I recall Citi devalued their price protection last week. Amex doesn’t even have price protection. Too much of a good thing, I guess, with apps like earny filing nickel and dime claims.

citi rolled back the benefit, its still there, just not as good as it used to. i think Discover is still the same.

What did Citi change on theirs?

Small win for me in the midst of all this bad news.

I canceled my personal Platinum on the morning of 3/31, but still received my $15 Uber credits for April. I added my new MB Platinum to my Uber account and I got another $15 Uber credits for April. Guess who's ordering delivery tonight?

here's a question.... at my local Aldi I see a cashback option when using a cc(I haven't noticed this before) I wonder, how would this 'code' -as a grocery purchase if I added cashback every time I stopped in? I'm going to add a small amount later to see what happens

I got an interesting offer in my email today....wwyd? 4 nights at Sheraton Vistana, plus 5k starpoints, for $199- I'd have to use cert.within 12 months- and listen to a 90 minute timeshare.....worth it? I had no plans for such a thing, but I could make use of it by next year sometime I think....

The transaction may get declined after you select cash back, but maybe not. I got excited when I was paying with a VGC and I saw cashback pop up I selected $20 and then it wouldn’t go through.

does JEtblue give back 10% of your points after you use them for booking a flight,or am I imaginign this? I can't find that info anywhere yet I thought that was the case

I had no plans to go to Hawaii this year when we got the offer for the Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali. However the pricing for the stay was a no brainer. I decided if we could get the flights and dates we wanted then we'd go for it. It was a near thing but all worked out in the end. If it is somewhere you wanted to visit anyhow, I'd go for it.

I've seen this option at the grocery store when using my Discover Card. I rarely use this card unless it's for a bonus category since I have the old version that earns a paltry .25% on the first $3k of purchases per year. I stopped by Safeway on my way to work this morning to get bananas and was able to get $20 cashback. I'm starting small until I see if it counts as a grocery purchase. My statement closes on the 20th so I'll know then.

I also had no plans to go to Hawaii when i received an offer. Changed all my plans and booked Hawaii which resulted in me having
bunch of air credits and a companion pass to burn since I chose Hawaiian air.

I love this thread but reading other folks exciting travel plans has me changed from booking WdW to San Fran to Canada to Grand
Cayman now thinking Costa Rica. LoL Life was so much simpler when we just booked WDW and forget. Who knew coming
to a DISBOARDS thread made me want to explore rest of the world?:smooth:

Yes please report back. I have seen it on my Discover card and also I think amex blue. I always think who would get cash back from a credit card the fees are probably horrible.
Now i'm curious.

An unexpected need for another vehicle in our household has popped up. How will my credit cards affect my ability to get a loan? I got the DIS visa in October, the CIP in January and the SPG in March. My dh got the CIP in February. I think each card has a 12k limit in addition to our older cards limits that must be reaching 60k combined.

We also have this card. Found this. https://birchfinance.com/learn/article/9-ways-to-rack-up-jetblue-points

scroll down to #2

#That means that if you use the JetBlue Plus card and purchase a basic blue class flight, you’ll earn 12 points for every dollar you spend. That’s equal to 19.2% back on your Jetblue purchase when you redeem those points for more Jetblue flights, and 21.1% back because Jetblue gives you 10% of your redeemed rewards back into your account with the Plus card.

You should be fine. My score has gone up 25 points since the last 3 cards I opened.
A home loan I’d be more conservative around.

Wow - got a strange denial for my DH for the CIC this week. He got the CIP back in November and admittedly hasn't used it much since then and he just got denied for the new card for having too much credit and not using it enough. The guy said he can see that DH has a great credit score and is very responsible, but he needs to use the credit he has more. I asked for the credit to be reallocated to the new card and they said no. Any advice? Just out of luck? Should we close the CIP and apply again in a couple of months? I was planning on PCing the CIP into the CIC anyway, but wanted that bonus!

Sounds like he should use the CIP a bunch and then try reapplying.
