Official 2018 Star Wars Dark Side Weekend

So tomorrow is the 5k. I’m accompanying dd to the race. She’s fourteen and it’s her first race ever. Will I drop her off and then wait in the Epcot parking lot at the finish line? Or is it such a long time lag between start and finish that I grab a bus back to Boardwalk Resort? She is in corral B. Finding it hard to get info.

DH, DS11, and I are running this race and also in Coral B. We have run it before as well.

The drop off should be no later than 4:30am. She will need to find her way thru the maze and into her coral when it’s tjme. If she wants to do photos - it’s open at 3:30. Drop off and Finish will both be in epcot. If she is planning to finish in 40 minutes, she would end up starting around 5:36-5:40am and finishing around 6:20am.

If you are dropping her off - I assume that means you are not a resort guest. I would recommend parking your car and resting there until around 5:30am when the race starts. The first finishers will cross around 5:45am.

Of course - you could also watch her at the start AND at the finish if you want!

I would not drive back to my resort before pickup.

Compared to the horrible experience I had at Princess where I stood in the sweltering merchandise line for an hour and moved about half the distance to the entry before giving up, today was fantastic. We arrived at about 3 and breezed on through. I picked up the red pullover, red half shirt, and red hat. As usual sizes are a little weird. I can't remember who asked about Nike, but they definitely had some Nike Golf stuff there with Run Disney on it.

I was hoping there would be a D&B one like they had for Princess, but I asked at their booth, and they said no. Maybe in the expo though? I got one last year there. Of course I can't find it now!

Just arrived and made it to Springs in time to the Star Wars VR experience at The Void and it was amazing! Highly recommended for any Star Wars fans here for race weekend. You go in as teams of 4 and...

Honestly I’m surprised they put Nike on that manakin.

I saw that and I was like... yaaaas runDisney plus Nike!!! My dream came true... 15 min later after looking for Nike stuff= sad Jedi.

Thanks! We navigated quite well. We are at Boardwalk. Got the first bus. Got a pic with Captain Phasma, then said our goodbyes. She was done by six am. So proud. On to the half on Sunday!

Just spoke to some 5k participants at breakfast. They said it was a good race but they did a lot of weaving around walkers who were in earlier corrals.
I woke up so early today I should've registered for the 5k. But it was due to lower back pain. Been stretching and yoga and Pilates moves. I name them like @Keels names Star Wars characters. Halloween cat helped today.

Oh- I think the ride seat for FoP is what did it to my back. I did the test seat yesterday and felt something when the back support pushed me. Not sure about doing the ride now. DW will do it Monday for sure.

I wasn't able to snag a FP for Flight of Passage, so I'm just gonna sit in the test seat for five minutes and sway back and forth while watching the movie on my phone.

Perfect weather for the 5K! I didn’t run it. I’m up early every morning and went outside when I let the dog out. It looks to be similar temps and humidity for the early hours of Saturday and Sunday. I hope so!!!!

Its more than a screen and a moving seat!! It’s an incredible experience. A must do. Makes Soarin look like a six flags attraction.
