Past experience with 7 am EMH crowds?

I'm trying to work out our HS gameplan for our visit in August. When we're there, there are daily EMH from 7-8 and the park opens at 8.

I'm curious what crowds will tend to be like that early in the morning. I know it's really early for people on vacation (me included, but I'm MOTIVATED!). My hope is that we can knock out TSL during that 7-8 am window then move on to other parts of the park for a couple hours before hopping elsewhere.

Did they do this kind of EMH when Pandora opened? Any experiences there at that hour? Am I being overly optimistic? We would plan to be there well before RD even for 7 am.

I guess I could also be patient and wait to hear reports from July but I'm trying to nail down my FP strategy ahead of our window opening.

I am wondering the same thing! I think the only way I could get my family up and moving before 7 in vacation is for TSL. We got FPs for saucers and TS mania, but could not get Slinky... that is the one I really want... So I am wondering how many other people are as crazy as us and looking to get there to EMH slinky and the other attractions...

PS We are there July 7-13 (booked before the official opening was announced...) *maybe* the crowds will be better by your August trip

I'd think you'll be fine to just do SDD in that window! GL.

Avatar did 7am EMH every so often during its opening time period and lines for FoP were 60-90 minutes during those times. I'd imagine HS will be similar, although will maybe draw fewer crowds.

I would definitely expect waits even early morning, but they will get longer and longer more into the day, so it is your best opportunity, IMO.

I think you'll be able to get at least one ride in. Two if you show up at least 45 minutes before EMH. But not all three toy story rides. But maybe I'm overly pessimistic.

That's kind of what I'm thinking too. But that's ok -- I should be able to get a FP for one of them if I'm not particular about which ... fingers crossed.

I would expect it to be busy, but not as bad as later in the day. While it is really early for vacation, I think you will want to be there just before 7 to have the bext shot at shorter lines. If it is anything like Pandora, the lines built up very quickly even with EMHs.

We will be doing 7am rope drop to ride RNR (my daughter's favorite) and TOT (my favorite) as many times as we can before going into TSL, but we have FP for the TSL rides. I think the crowds will be high even at 7am through July and August. We plan on being at HS by 6:30, but if I were planning on going into TSL at RD I would probably try to get there by 6:00.

Totally agree. It might sound painful to some to get up that early, but if you’re at the front of the RD crowd you’ll likely walk right on to most anything.

I'm trying to figure out how early to be there for the first week of Aug. I think we'll have to go with 6am to be safe.

I likely won't be able to get a Slinky FP+ until the evening, I'm still debating how to plan the day. RD Slinkey and FP+ Aliens at 9am or have no access to a 4th FP+ until after 6 pm?

I'm hitting the park at 7 to do all the other major rides! Then I have a FP for SDD at 12:30. I'm just afraid the ride will have growing pains, though, and not be operating during peak times (like Frozen and others when they opened). Then my strategy will be for nothing!

Told the kids we need to be AIS at 5:50AM so we can get in line and hopefully hit 2 of the 3 TSL rides. I'm hoping to get FP for ASSC, but who knows what we'll be able to get?? I'm anxious to see how July goes so we can make some plans.

I should explain that SDD was available in the afternoon for FP, but we had originally planned to park hop each day... so an afternoon FP wouldn't work. I took Alien Saucers for my DD and I and TSM for my DH and DS (the boys get motion sickness easily - so no spinning for them). So, don't lose hope - just be more flexible than I was with my FP hours.

I’m not sure how many are in your party but we’re going Mid July and even now at 45 days, I can get Saucer availability if I try to modify an existing FP (ditto for TSMM). I did manage to snag a late AM Slinky a couple days ago during a random check. We’re a party of 2.

I did my FP's this morning and did get SDD on our 2nd day no trouble at all. There were plenty of times available. Right now I just checked and none available for morning and afternoon. There are still 3 time slots for evening. I tried for FOP on my first day and zip nothing available.

For us it's an easy decision. If we can't get SDD for the morning, we'd rather get there super early and have access to 4th FPs than do an afternoon FP+. We go through 7-10 fastpasses per day when we're there, no problem.

I’m planning this for July. RD Slinky at 7am, fastpass Aliens between 10-11am, then leave the park. Ideally, I finish Slinky by 9am with time to try some poptarts at Andy’s Lunchbox. That’s pretty much all I aim to do as a solo rider, so hopefully that timeframe is doable.
