I love credit cards so much!

I've been thinking about it. I managed to come up with the spending for the 3 cards I have opened in the last 6 months.

He does have a SW premier.

I’ve had Chase Disney and SW cards for years.....Chase didn’t check my credit for the CIP opened in May......I just applied for the CSR yesterday so I’m not sure about it yet

anyone know if you can upgrade your spg room with points? Like book the standard and call to apply more points to upgrade? Marriott shows upgrades right on their site. I was considering swan alcove.

Just looked...they show up on your monthly statements

I think it is usually on the statements, which you can pull up online.

oops, cross-posted with palhockeymom

Not sure if the rewards activity goes back that far, but you can check your statements. Use the statement end date for bonus post date.

Thanks! This is terrible, but I never really check my statements since I pay on my cards twice a month and just always go by whatever the "last statement balance" on the website says instead of actually checking my balance lol.

I only check my statements when I forget to update my spreadsheet column for when the bonus posted... :rotfl:

I just checked my Barclays Aviator biz and my statement closed yesterday. 50,000 AA miles are showing as pending! They haven't posted to my AA account yet, but that's ok. And yes, I put one single charge of $13.50 on this card so for that plus the $95 annual file I ended up with 50,000 miles!

He'll be fine getting the bonus and his own cards. Go ahead and ask your DD for the referral, some people's are dead but some are still alive. It seems she can't generate it via the website now but she might be able to generate one via the app.

Which app? I have the Chase Pay app loaded, but I don't see anywhere to do the referral. Thanks!

I met the MSR by spending .99 on a pack of gum at CVS and got .99 cents in extra bucks for my next purchase. lol

Chase would be the TA. Does DCL still automatically assign the current TA to the new placeholder? I haven't used a TA on a DCL cruise since our first (disaster) so it's easy for us but I've been trying to keep up on the policy changes.
If you have a TA on this cruise then book the placeholder and it's auto assigned to that TA, you'd have to ask that TA to transfer it to Chase to use UR on it.

Since we've been happy with getting discounted GC's to pay for it and are happy with the OBC the OBB gets us, I haven't been concerned with trying to use an agency. But I'm curious now that I have the Chase avenue open. I know you could name the TA before but I thought that stopped and they went to the auto-assign and if not it's Disney's and they give you the 30 days to transfer to a new TA. (at some point I have to get back to the DCL boards now that I'm armed with all this travel hacking info here :D)

Thanks so much for helping me understand. It’s been a long time since we booked on board but I remember it was automatic and I think now it’s not. I remember reading that if you book then transfer to a TA the OBC is smaller but I can’t find my notes now (out of the country and just trying to read here on my iPhone isn’t working well for me - small screen). I had a feeling that Chase would be the TA. I wonder how that works in terms of help and how much they really know. I have a TA who knows the ins and outs of DCL. Thanks again!

I've been wondering this too. What is the swan alcove? I don't see that on their site.

Mine closed yesterday too! Now just need to finish my MSR for my AA biz spend and I'll have about 129k AA points with no plan on what to do with them! :goodvibes

Update on my 10k amex spend. I've been waiting on getting approval to attend a work conference this fall - just found out that both me and one of my colleagues are approved to register.
He's super busy right now, and I am a kind and considerate co-worker, so I offered to register both of us at the same time. To the tune of $2k each - on my new Amex. :dancer:

So between that and the furniture I bought this weekend (decided that yes, it is time to replace our 20 year old couches), I'm now more than half way through my 10k spend, with 2.5 months to go. And I still need to book my flight to the conference, so that will help too.

So the whole Plastiq/contractor fiasco turned out to be a blessing - I should get an additional 100k in URs by accelerating my CIP application and I should still be able to meet the MSR on my Amex too!

Jeez I really need to pay better attention to things, I just realized Citi gave me a $20,000 CL on the AA biz :rotfl2:

Also, I haven't paid my bill in a while...

Don't forget to drop that to 2k before you close it! Apparently Citi computers consider closed citi CLs as credit extended. I had 11k on my citi biz and closed it not knowing any better. Approvals after have been 4k-6k and I started reducing my CLs on my Citi cards :( It made no sense until I read the drop it to 2k advise on reddit and then I realized why the computers were so stingy...
