I love credit cards so much!

Has anyone upgraded their SW Plus or Premier cards to the New Priority card...I’m looking into it since I received an upgrade offer but can’t find any information on if it resets the 24 month bonus clock...if it does I’ll pass but if not I’m interested since we fly SW a lot and will use the $75 travel credit...and the 4 upgraded boarding would be nice too

Can someone help me understand Amex MRs? When I log in, I see that I have 0 MRs. So not only does that mean that the referrals for my and my DH's Biz Greens didn't credit, but also I'm not getting any points for my purchases. My first statement just closed and doesn't say anything about MRs. Help please!

Well less than 48 hours after approval I am holding an Amex Platinum in my hot little hands! Assuming there is space in the Centurion lounge I shall declare the use of a 5/24 worth it :smokin: . In other news this makes the 9th new card acquired between me and DH since December. Now I will let our credit have a little rest for a few months before DH goes for a SW double dip. I will have acquired about 220k URs, 360k Marriott, 100K AA, 110k SW and a CP if all goes according to plan .

Now to pack me and the kids, get the house in shape, and if I get done soon enough catch up on about 20 pages that I am behind in this thread. Holy cow we leave tomorrow and I have NOTHING together. I will say that's something that has come with this game. Before when we traveled only 1x a year or less I had lists galore, packed and prepped weeks in advance. The kids would get backpacks of new coloring books, toys, snacks for the airplane. Now that it seems like I am on a plane every two months or so I have gotten a little lax. This time may have gone too far tough :scared1:

Just got back from my trip to Staples and Walgreens to use the RMN promos. Purchased $25 Disney GC and got the notification that my $5 is processing. Then I went to Staples and stared at the rack...too many options. Opted for $50 Sunoco GC and got that notification that my $10 is now processing as well. New user reward so I should have $20 at the end of August.

Before I went to Staples I put some gas in the car and after I pulled out, got a fraud alert on my phone for my CC. I only brought my license and CC with my two DDs in tow. This gas station always flags as fraud for both Citi and Navy Federal causing me to respond to their alerts via text. I thought my trip was going to have a hiccup but all processed fine afterwards. Phew..

Does the trick to use the ticket first before upgrading no longer work? I've never done it myself, but the recommendation on this board used to be to use a discounted ticket once before going to upgrade it to an AP. That would lock in the value of your ticket at whatever the current gate price is, so you'd only pay the difference between the gate price and the AP, not between what you actually paid and the AP. If this no longer works, sorry for the outdated information.

As @Ava said that's not how it should have worked. Anyone looking to bridge or has ticket questions should use the ticket thread from the theme park board https://www.disboards.com/threads/all-about-tickets-upgrades.3570721/ ask questions there, you don't have to read it all since so much is out of date. You'll get good advice there. The biggest thing is knowing what you should pay ans if the cm gives you a higher number say no thanks and try someone else, they don't all do it correctly.

I tried to get the gate price vs the actual price paid on two different days and the evening on the second day I went to DS to the town common, or whatever its called now, and spoke to guest relations about it. They said they now track how much you paid for ticket regardless of what the actual price of admission was because they know you purchased a discounted ticket and also who you bought it from. That was just my experience and I let it be. It wasn't going to throw a wrench in my vacation. Besides...Disney already took enough of our money...whats some more! :worship:

I even tried MK for the first entrance as that is the highest priced park.

Thanks so much...I think I changed it about a month ago? I am not sure the date but I am sure @Lain has it noted somewhere in his records.

This is her first Mickey bar. I am not a fan of messes and if you ask her "What does dada always say?" She will respond with "Don't make a mess." DW got that for her when I was on ToT and had a good chance to eat it. I got back and took the pic. They went to use the bathroom and it was dripping all over my hand...so I filed it in the trash for safe keeping.

6/22/18.

Does anyone knows if I can book park+fly hotel in a Marriott hotel with Marriot points?

It may be property-specific, but when I asked about it at the Springhill Suites that we stayed overnight in the answer was no. It had to be a cash rate to get the parking included.

From your account home, click Explore Rewards --> Click on your Points Balance (which will be 0) --> Summary tab. You should see your MR pending.

Is this your first MR card? It almost always takes until your second statement to see a sign-up bonus from your first MR card. For normal spend, they'll be pending until your second statement. The referal bonuses I'm not sure - those will typically post quickly, within a few days, but if you haven't had any MRs at all yet I'm not sure if you'll have to wait on those too.

Either way, take a look at your pending points to hopefully put your mind at ease.

MR's are a little goofy, you don't actually get most MR's until the 2nd month. So statement closes 8/5 with 100 MR, 9/5 you get the 100 MR in your balance.

I tried this a few years back and was told no. However, some properties will allow you to leave your car there for a fee, I've seen $10 - $12/night. The problem with this is that it is on request at check-in and if their parking lot is near capacity they may say 'No availability' and then you have a problem.

Oh, thanks for that explanation! I was having the same issue as @schmass. But did what you said, and I see the pending 20K for the referral, and pending points for my 1x purchases.

Agreed, we stayed somewhere in Tampa pre-Cruise (I totally forget which one, sorry) and paid points or used free night. They had a cruise "rate" that included shuttle to the pier, it was same price, IIRC, but you have to book that rate code. We assumed using the points we couldn't get that but when we asked about scheduling the shuttle they said we should have called, they do the shuttle with points too and we could have got it for free. So I think it's up to the property, can't hurt to call to see.
