"Official" 2018 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - Holiday Magic

Did anyone get an Annual Pass discount when they booked Tony's Merriest this morning? I called and they didn't have a discount.
Just booked it & no discount, but I wasn't expecting one. There is really never an AP discount on events like this, special dining packages, EMM, dessert parties, etc.

I like that you can check in at 2 PM & come back later so that there won't be a crush of people at opening time :)

Ok, this may be a silly question as I am still fairly new to Disney Parks and especially to booking extras myself (usually go with a travel agent) but I decided to fly solo on the planning on this trip... but I don’t see a page on Disney’s website. I know it isn’t bookable for non pass holders or non Dvc until tomorrow, but should I expect the page to pop up overnight to be ready by 7 am to book the party?

It states online and by phone. No link as of now. You have to call for early booking (AP & DVC). I would think there would be a link starting tomorrow.

TWO NEW ENTERTAINMENT OFFERINGS COMING TO MICKEY’S VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS PARTY

Disney Junior Jingle Jam

Disney Junior Jingle Jam will be added to the entertainment offerings for the 2018 MVMCP. It will be a dance party that occurs in Storybook Circus. The Halloween version offered the premiere of Vampirina along with Doc McStuffins. There’s no word yet on exactly which characters will appear for the Disney Junior Jingle Jam.

The Edge Effect

The Edge Effect will take the place of VoicePlay for 2018. This The Edge Effect is a popular, Orlando-based acapella act. The group is comprised of Danny Alan, Troy Dolendo, Sean Gerrity, John Gibson II and Karl Hudson. Travelling the world, they strive to prove that singers do not need Autotune and computers to put on a great show for all ages. Their music is as diverse as they are; offering a wide array of styles and showcasing influences that span decades.

Will the times posted on TP for this new acapella gtoup just take the slots where Voice Play would have been?

Hm. So check in at Tony's at 2pm then go about your business and come back for party? Where is everyone planning on watching fireworks from if they are doing the Tony's thing? I'm still on the fence.

This is the only info I have at this time. Possibly be the same times or close to as VoicePlay last year. When times are released, they will be posted in this thread and Post #1 will be updated.

We will be at Tomorrowland Terrace, but we have no choice. We need the seats. If we didn’t, I would try to watch the fireworks from close to the flagpole & not participate in the Great Migration on my way to Tony’s.

A FROZEN HOLIDAY WISH CASTLE LIGHTING FOR 2018

A Frozen Holiday Wish, which features, Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff, will officially begin on November 4, 2018.

On MVMCP nights, the show occurs twice nightly. On regular Magic Kingdom days, the show occurs once nightly.
Maybe I’ll have to check it out!

Do they use/open Market Street (that runs behind the scene parallel to Main Street) for the Christmas Party? It was open for the Halloween Party and really helped with the traffic!

Yes! The bypass will be open for guests entering the party as day park guests enter/exit on the other side.

What time will the castle lighting take place on non party nights?

An earlier post from Disney indicated 7pm and one mentioned at dusk. So when official times are released, Post # 1 will be updated. You can look at the 2017 thread for last year's times, probably want change.

Does Santa meet during the day or only during the Party? What are the lines like for him and also Mickey and Minnie?

I really want to get a Disney ugly sweater to wear for the Christmas party, but I’m worried it may be too warm for that. The weather variability is really complicating my pre trip Disney shopping!

We did Mickey/Minnie Heads on Tees & the Design was “Ugly Mickey” Disney. For weather purposes.

My understanding was that the bypass was only open for the first few hours of the parties last year. So, it couldn't be used as a quick way to get to the front gates later in the evening. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, though, as I'd love to use this route to get to the town square for parade viewing at 11:00!

How easily do you get cold? It might not ever get cold enough for the thick Disney store-style sweaters if you have a higher tolerance for Floridian "winter"

Another good solution are the christmas sweater style shirts. Also, worth noting, stores like target and wal-mart sell christmas "sweaters" that are made of a much thinner material. They're only slightly thicker than a regular shirt. You might be able to tolerate that with the sleeves rolled up. Again, it varies on a person-to-person basis. I live in South Florida, so I swore I was going to turn into an icicle in 55 degree weather during January. I personally had no problem wearing the Disney store christmas sweater in 65-70 degree weather, but it depends on the person.
