Just checking in during our WDW trip to say to everyone who has a trip coming up bring warm clothes. You don’t want to have to pay Disney prices for clothes that aren’t as warm as ones you could bring from home anyway. Today was better but yesterday morning it was 33 on the temperature and felt like 31. COLD! And it never really warmed up all day. I only have the pair of leggings I wore on the plane and another pair I intended to sleep in. No jeans as my denial ran deep about the weather. Thank goodness the girls have a couple pair of pants. It does seem colder with the humidity. I am taking solace in fact that it is at least better than the 8 inches of snow we had yesterday at home.

The parks have been pretty busy but maybe it is the holiday weekend and will start getting better for you all. A lot of Brazil tourists though and I imagine that is only going to continue.

Sole credit card news is amount still pending not posted on P2’s Arrival Plus and the bonus is already there. So that is nice...one less thing.

Can anyone tell me how Priority Pass works? Do you pay for food and get reimbursed or is it just complimentary in the lounges?
Flying out tomorrow morning and was thinking I might try it for a quick breakfast if we have time. Thanks.

How’s the priority pass experience at mco, specifically terminal A? I’m thinking about using it on our flight home and we are flying back with southwest. We haven’t used our priority pass yet but the magic express picks you up so early I thought maybe we could get breakfast in the lounge

That’s a bummer. 30 is too cold for Disney. I guess I’ll be packing lots of layers. It’s showing rain for quite a few of our days now too

But you guys are the spreadsheet masters!

Haha, your old post about this was the first thing I thought of when the site went down.

I plowed ahead an ignored all warnings so that I could finally get caught up in that hour!
I went through the warnings too. I figured something was wrong on my end. I didn’t know it was happening for everyone

Great advice! I always overpack and people think I am crazy. I never know if I may need something! That is the right attitude. Better to have cooler weather and to be in WDW then home with even colder weather/snow!

Have you considered doing laundry in the 1-bedroom if need be? A great perk of the DVC stay ::yes::

Ok. I'll be patient. It seems like my CCF one posted right away both times. Maybe it's the universe telling me to go to CCF instead of Shake Shack.

Thanks for that DP!

I'll take colder weather and lower crowds any day. Well, maybe not for a beach holiday, but pretty much every other kind of trip.

October was our "go-to-WDW" time when DD was little. Super low crowds and good discounts. We stopped visiting in October when she started school, but I always thought we'd get to a point when we could be Oct. WDW people again. Sounds like that is never going to happen.

Seriously? Wow! 50s here means a coat and boots. That's our winter weather. :rotfl: Oh, and I'm serious. No shorts or sandals here, even in the 60s.

I hate the waiting...
Seriously. I have black and khaki shorts for teaching and if it hits 50 that day I’m wearing them. I hate wearing pants. We went to Houston in February in 2016 and I wore shorts and a T-shirt around. The people there had coats and gloves :rotfl2:

For what it's worth, we've basically gone this same week for 7 straight years and the forecast always is showing rain on 4 or 5 of the days at this point. This year could be different, but in my experience, we've NEVER had more than one truly "rainy" day on each trip (i.e. 1 out of 8 days). Otherwise, it may have rained for an hour here or there but nothing that affected our day.

I always pack rain gear, and then I ignore the rain in the forecast and only pay attention to the high/low temps. :)

That’s true. We’ve gone in feb/March a lot and it always says rain but we’ve never once had a rainy day. I think we’ve gone at that time 3 different years without rain. I’m just worried about it being like 40 out and raining. That would be cold!

To counter my earlier point though...It also feels like we have definitely had 1 VERY rainy day on each of those trips. I can remember many of them vividly, lol! 1 year was AK (not that bad really), 1 year was MK (watching wishes in the rain was ugh), 1 year was HS (Fantasmic cancelled halfway through because it went from rain to downpour), and certainly others I can't exactly recall right now, lol. I'm always prepared for that "1 day"!

Debating how fast should I meet the MSR on DH's Hilton Biz. I'd like to use the points to book our pre-cruise hotel (Doubletree San Pedro) in April. I could just pay property tax early and be done. But thinking I should spread out the MSR to hopefully help with avoiding the AmEx pop-up. He also has a new Rose Gold, but I can spread out the MSR on that and plan to keep using afterwards for restaurants. Not sure how much that'll help.

A little worried that the standard rooms will all get booked. The King rooms already don't come up, only the 2 Queen rooms (which is fine for us).

How long does it take for Hilton points to post after meeting MSR?

I can't speak to the restaurants, only the lounges. You just go in, swipe the card, and check-in. I've been asked for the boarding pass of everybody in my group and then I had to fill something out on a little tablet/handheld device (basically just confirming my information). All the stuff in my local airport and MCO were free. One time the MCO lounge was full and the agent apologized and asked if she could text me when there was space. There was a little seating area and I just waited there. Not even 5 minutes later I got in. She apologized like 500x and said I was so nice and understanding. Really, not a big deal that I had to wait a whole 5 minutes. I guess some people are just rude? :confused3

I've used the "The Club MCO" in airside 1, but never for breakfast. There were all different types of snacks, a salad, multiple tiny sandwich and soup options, small brownies and cookies, and plenty of soda/water/coffee/tea options in addition to a bar. If you're flying SW, you will have to go to a different airside, and then back through security. There is no PP lounge in airside 2.

Food is complimentary in the lounges. You just show your priority pass membership card to get in. Some airports don’t have an actual lounge, but instead a restaurant that partners with priority pass. For those, you usually get a specific dollar amount to spend at the restaurant. Just let the server know you have priority pass and the priority pass credit will be deducted from your bill. The priority pass website has a list of lounges/restaurants for all airports.

In my experience, the weather reports always change, so a bad report when we are packing tends to lead to a pleasant surprise. I hope it works that way for your trip if it's not a good forecast.

For those going to WDW next week, it's snowing at DLP now so at least it's not that cold Plus you've never lived until you've ridden a coaster in sub 30 temps it's way more invigorating. Always fun to go look at the Christmas light display and ride the rides at the local amusement park when it's super cold :)

I was getting that message too but my browser would not let me through. I tried chrome and FF and on my phone. How did you guys push past?

There is a club lounge in terminal A but it’s by the non southwest gates. When I went I didn’t have to re go through security I just had to take the air train back and get on the one to my gate.

The lounge was crowded and the bathrooms were small. I’m picky about my food but they had bags of chips and Milano’s which was nice.

On chrome down at the bottom I think it said advanced and when you clicked it gave you the option to continue anyway. I couldn't do anything but read though. I tried to reply to someone but it didn't work so I gave up and then the next time I came on there weren't any new posts so I figured everyone was having the same posting issue if they were still reading.

This is very good advice to those going soon. We went in mid-Dec one year and it was in the 30's at night and 40's in the day for a couple of our days. I could hardly move I was so cold. Even though I live in CO, and everyone always thinks we are 'snowed up to our eyeballs', we actually have some pretty mild winters and the dry air and intense sun have a way of making 40 degrees feel downright balmy. FL is damp cold, bone chilling cold so pack layers, hats, gloves, blankets to throw over little ones in strollers, etc. We packed all that when we went in December, used every bit of it and wished I packed even warmer gear. My dh thought I was nuts packing all that to go to Disney but he was happy to have it when we got there. We pretty much lived on hot chocolate, coffee, churros, anything warm...
