Gender neutral bathrooms at WDW, specifically MK?

Next week, I’ll be going to MK!! I’m very excited, and I haven’t been in a year or two. However, one of the members of my party is nonbinary- do y’all know where there are gender neutral bathrooms in MK?? I.e., the one-stall family-type restrooms. Thanks so much!!!

Also- if you know of any in the other parks too, that would be helpful for when we all decide to go back to a different park!!

Agree with @MooseBucks above, you'll find these companion restrooms at almost all the larger restroom stops around all the parks. Also at Disney Springs and most of the resorts.

I wasn't aware of the gender-neutral washrooms! That's really nice. Some progress

They have had them for years. They are primarily for people in wheel chairs. They have a handicapped sign on or next to the door.

Keeping an eye on this, we're coming down in December and my adoptive daughter is trans and well....I worry about her running into that one kind of jerk who turns up everywhere sooner or later

I'm Trans (MtoF) and I just use the handicapped restrooms which are also the family restrooms.

I don’t understand. Wouldn’t one just use the restroom of the gender they identify with? There are stalls with doors for privacy. And for the ones that don’t “pick a side”, they feel comfortable using the handicapped restrooms that would prevent the people they were intended for from using it? I suppose if you’re quick about it.

Oh just saw they are also for family. Really I think a restroom is a restroom when you gotta go. I’m female and have no problem using a men’s restroom. Especially when there’s a line for the ladie’s and the men’s is empty.

It's more folks being concerned with being harassed by people who have....let's be charitable and say "issues"...with trans folks.

Admittedly, I'm kinda new to the whole "dad" thing and I'm more than a little protective

Keep in mind there are people who are non-binary and don’t identify with traditional male or female genders so prefer a neutral space. PLUS there are jerks in this world who for some reason care what’s in another persons pants versus who that person actually is... I would be so sad if a person is harassed at Disney over their identity and would be happy waiting for a companion restroom so others feel confident

As someone who uses a wheelchair and requires the use of the facilities sharpish sometimes I ask kindly if you would refrain from using the accessible toilets unless you are disabled in some way. I know it’s not your intention but someone could have an accident not being able to get in.

They're actually are companion rest rooms, designed for both those with disabled and parents who go in with their children, more so for parents who need to change their child's diaper.

The accessible toilets are different from the companion restrooms. Accessible toilets are in every gendered restroom and the companion restrooms are single stall usually near gendered restrooms to be used as needed by anyone, IMO. They are the best if I end up with all three kids I can push the stroller right in and take care of business one at a time without them crawling all over the dirty bathroom. I’ve also seen people in wheelchairs with a support person use them, parents waiting for children outside them, and random adults going solo.

You are welcome to use the companion restrooms. But it is, after all, Disney, and I really don't see why anyone would be having an issue with trans or non-binary people using the standard gendered restroom...surely there is much more for them to concentrate on during their vacation. I remember while I was working and going to conventions....you know ladies rooms are always crowded and have fewer facilities than mens rooms, well during our short breaks, men used the mens room, and ladies just used both. There were closable stalls, they walked past the men, no one said anything. I mean, gosh, seriously, what do people think they'll see or do? I'm sure their imagination is much more interesting than the real thing. I know when I use the restroom, I sure don't care who maybe in the stall next door.

I remember back in the 90s, my Mom who was in her 70s at that time, used the restroom by the UK pavilion during Gay Days and was chuckling when she came out. She said there was a male using the stall next to her, and you could just tell it was a male. That was all she said. She really didn't think much about it. And we went on and enjoyed our day at EPCOT. I'm sorry that this still seems to be a major issue for some people in the 21 Century.

If you have the Disney World App you can use the map function on there to look at all the bathrooms on the map, and it will show you where the Companion (Gender-Neutral) Bathrooms! I've been using this for the past few years, and this is also the case for the Disneyland App!
