VERY good to know tickets won’t be received until 30/60 days. If they do what they say this means FP bookings will not be available to people with these DL packages until after windows have opened.
Excellent point- thanks for mentioning it, because I meant to warn everyone and forgot. It works for us because we aren't heading to the parks until the day after arrival. But especially for onsite stays it would make a big difference.

I’ve had two $500 vgc from GCM over the last month that the envelopes have been opened before I received them. >:( Both times I registered the card and changed the PIN# ASAP. The balance was correct both times, no one tried to drain either card apparently. But not sure what to think about this going forward. Very discouraging to my current MS strategy.

I agree, the 2.5 hour layover is what I’d do as well (even without lounge access). The most you’ll do is be a bit bored but that’s a lot easier to deal with than a missed connection. I just had a similar debate about a layover on our way to Barcelona next July and opted for the longer connection.
I definitely would have taken the layover at a big airport like DFW. You can land there and spend 20-30 mins tax’ing to the gate. And last time we were in DFW, it was really hard just to get around the airport cause lots was blocked off due to construction

I don't know if this is a good strategy or not. I've been looking at something similar myself, and I think I'm going to pass because there is too much uncertainty. I wanted to let you know that when I was searching the cheapest flight/hotel option was 2/4/20 - 2/6/20 from Charlotte (CLT) to Orlando (MCO). This was a few days ago, but I'm pretty sure the flight + hotel option was under $400 for 4 travelers.
Ok great good to know! A lot of uncertainty. If it all worked out it would be a good deal for tickets though right? Is my math fuzzy?
Assuming you value MR at 1cpp, and that everything works out the way we think it will, then your math looks good to me. I looked at bridging to an AP too. I've never done this before, but I guess the biggest uncertainty is what the price of an AP will be when you get to WDW? Because that's the AP price you'll have to bridge to, I think? Others know more about bridging to an AP than I do!

I don't know if this is a good idea either. I agree that the uncertainty makes me nervous - but I'm pretty risk averse. Wish I could be more help!

Thanks! Just booked one-ways flights Wichita to SNA for July 25th for 12,500 AA points. Had such a great time at DLR last year I wanted to head back again. Now to wait for Thurs or so to be able to book the return flights. My original plan was to use AA points for Hawaii, but I'm short the points for summer 2020, and DH still isn't on board with taking the kids there yet, so maybe summer 2021. If I can get 12,500 point flights for the return I'll still have a decent AA stash, and waiting to see if I get my SUB when my AA biz stmt closes on 9/10.

We're also planning a late May trip to WDW in 2020. We did a similar combo this summer and now I'm spoiled and want to both! :rolleyes1

I'll keep my fingers crossed that Avengers Campus will be open for your trip! Disneyland tends to time the launch of their new lands and attractions for Memorial Day weekend to kick off the summer season. So...🤞

Can anyone help an east coaster get to Hawaii using SW CP and or Chase UR'S? The options are endless. Thinking of using URs to fly Hawaiin Airlines direct at 22,000 pts. We will use DVC points to stay at Aulani. Returning home we are thinking of using SW points and the CP to spend 2 nights/ 1 full day in northern California to ease the jet lag. I hate not using SW points and CP to get there though but no direct flights with SW. We are open to an overnight on the way there as well. How do you guys do it? We can take 10 days for this trip.
I am thinking about a similar trip. I booked a flight to Sacramento using SW and CP. We are staying there to visit family for a couple of days. Then planning to go to Mauii for a week and return to San Francisco for a couple of days to break up the trip on the way home. Haven't booked anything yet for the return because the booking window isn't open that far out yet for SW. So I am not sure if we will go SW or Hawaiian.

so tomorrow is my big day to app for P2 CIP2..... I want to make sure I have this right.... generate refer link from my CIP- app thru that- as soon as we get approval (not sure if it will take a while) we SM thru our acct page for expedited? or does P2 need to call in? And then I'd like to pc P2's CIP #1 to a CIC (to use at office supply stores).... then I plan to repeat the process in reverse for myself (P1) when I'm ready for another MSR.... sound right?

That looks good :tinker: For a fast approval....you can SM through his account to ask for it to be expedited.....if it’s showing in the account...not sure if you can SM if you don’t know the last 4 account numbers

they dont, but from time to time, if u do too much, they will call the store and ask.

I know one time I was in a rush and needed $1800 of DGC for our APs and bought them all in one transaction at Kroger on my BCP. I didn’t get the 6% cash back on that transaction even though no L3 data was shared. My fault for a totally obvious transaction without even a banana thrown in for good measure 🤦‍♀️

Thanks. Starting small with the whole idea but since we have to buy a freezer today I thought I would get gift cards at Safeway for the 4x points and the gift card promotion in my account. I have a serve card here I haven't registered yet. I should get to that soon.

I’m sure I’ve done stuff like that but never been caught by Amex. You think they’d wonder why my grocery spending goes through the roof when Kroger runs 4x fuel points on gift cards:)

OT but DD turns 16 in < 2 weeks. I'm getting her a used car. I like Hondas (my last four vehicles have been Hondas--an Accord, a Pilot, and two Odysseys). So I gave her the following criteria: <50,000 miles, <$14,000, 2016 or newer, rated as a good or great deal, no accidents. Everything was going fine then this week her dad started telling me we should get her a Subaru (I'm paying). Now dd is asking for a Ford Escape, Honda Fit, Honda CRV, Ford Focus, etc. Can someone please tell me what the heck is wrong with a Honda Civic?

From WDW Newz Today (censored site that shall not be named!):

The V.I.PASSHOLDER Support service is available to all Passholders seven days a week, from 7am to 11pm, by calling the number at (407) 939-7277. The online chat is available at disneyworld.com/passholder-program and the email address is disney world.disney.go.com/help/email/annual-passholder/.

Chatting with Thor and hoping he can help otherwise I'll have to call. Fingers crossed.

Alao their first aol email of the day 😂 :rotfl2:

Nothing! That said, when we were shopping for cars for DD, knowing she is a horrible driver I wanted every safety feature available. At the time, Subaru's side view mirror alert was better for her than Honda's. Oh and her father (my ex) would only pay 1/2 for a Subaru. So guess what is now in our garage while she's in college?

Thankfully DD seems to be a good driver. But I'm probably comparing her to myself at that age and I was a really bad driver. One time I drove down the driveway to get the mail and when I went to park the car I confused the gas and the brake and ran into a stone pillar (with the guy who was filling our heating oil tank watching). Anyway that was my ex's argument--that Subarus are very safe:)
