“Life is Grand, it Yacht to be, we are at Disney! 1/29 New TR link, a question, and this TR is complete!

It will def be cooler!
It will, I hope it isn’t as cool as this past January. We were cold!
I felt the smae the day after. And we rested a bit which is what I needed.
We rested more this trip then usual and it worked out well
It was so crazy! And I don't blame you! I am def glad we did the morning one. It was so hot towards the end. We saw two seperate people literally with heat exhaustion. One person, I swear they dumped a bucket of ice water on them
It was crazy hot, I did see a couple people with heat exhaustion this trip!
The line does move well. Which is nice.
It was always moving which is good
So chaotic!!!! And the pressure to get your photo before you group is called is no joke!
We couldn’t even get a chess picture, to chaotic
This is going to be the problem with this ride, the people you are with will make or break your expierence.
I agree, unless you have a party of 6, it can be awkward
It is a great photo non the less!
Ahh Thanks!
Bummer. We liked it. But the girls still eat that colored popcorn, and it reminded me of that. I wouldn't tell anyone they HAD to try it. It was fine.
Ours was stale and the red coating was yucky to us.
kefta is so good. Usually lamb I think, which makes it odd to be plant based. Bummer on the food, for you guys. There really wasn't any choices for the girls either.
Kari had said it was so good, it was a bummer it had nuts in the dish, we wanted to try it
I really think this is the issue, if you aren't a star wars fan, the land is meh. Nice but you aren't going to spend hours in it. But I feel that way about Harry Potter. Something for everyone.
I really love SWs, it is cool and I hope to get a better feel for it in January
Oye!!! I hope they figure it out before our December trip!!! I booked Caribean Beach half for the Gondolas!
I know, we planned on using in January
still have to try this!!! That beef looks so good EVERY TIME!!!!
It really is so delicious
Sounds like you powered through. And you don't look sick at all!
Thank you! My throat was so sore!
hope you did!!!
I did!

Hi Carole!
SWGE was fun, very detailed. The ride is weird, how you have to share this more intimate space with total strangers. You never know how they will act. :sad2:
I think if you ever venture to Disney, AK is such a wonderful park with very good food choices!
The sun was so intense this day, it was hard to stand for the pictures! Thanks!

I’m glad you enjoyed it......hearing so many negative stories about it so far.....as someone who doesn’t like SW in any way shape or form, I doubt I’ll ever see it.....so it’s nice to see pictures.

We did enjoy Yak & Yeti all those blue moons ago when we went to Disney, food was good, if not quite spicy enough for me......lol.......we do like our spices!!! And as someone who loves elephants, we did enjoy that part too.....

And yes, it is a very pretty park.......

First, what does everyone think about the gondola problems? Wow, it sounds really scary and from what I have read, Disney didn’t know what to do. The guest experiences from social media sound awful. Most say they were not given updates and some were stuck for 3 hours! I was really excited to try these out in January and now I’m a little nervous about it.

I think it's really unfortunate that it happened, and happened so soon after opening. I'm sure it will prompt some changes by Disney and I'm very hopeful that the gondolas will become a reliable mode of transportation. They seem really cool to me!

She told me how wonderful these trips are and how much it means to her! She said we have made so many wonderful memories together and it is so special to her:lovestruc Ahh, this made a mother happy!

Aww that's too sweet!

I gather your Star Wars experience wasn't the greatest, based on your comment and some others, and I hope you'll have some better experiences with it in the future. At least Dinosaur was there to console you :rotfl:

The previews came out and of course I couldn’t get through for awhile and once I did I just grabbed the 1pm time slot and wanted to confirm it! I was so worried I would get the dreaded Disney IT error!

I totally understand that! These things are so chaotic- it's hard to think clearly.

Our pilots and the gunners were all one family and they were annoying! This took away from the experience as well. They were know it alls and were screaming and making stupid comments the whole time.

Ugh that's frustrating. That's my concern since it's going to be just two of us when we go.

We couldn’t get anything vegetarian/peanut/nut free! This was a little disappointing.

That is disappointing. I'm surprised Disney wasn't more accomodating.

First, what does everyone think about the gondola problems? Wow, it sounds really scary and from what I have read, Disney didn’t know what to do.

Ugh i wasn't sold on riding them to begin with and now I really don't want to! Luckily no one was injured but can you even imagine if this had happened at noon in the summer! Trapped in the air for 3 hours in the heat of the day would be terrible!

She told me how wonderful these trips are and how much it means to her! She said we have made so many wonderful memories together and it is so special to her:lovestruc

Aww 🥰 🥰

Love this picture! I love the Tree of Life at night!

It was really cool and so detailed. I just wish I was feeling better and that we had enjoyed the SR more. The family were telling us how much they know about the ride and they are AP holders, no kidding!!

Wow you also have so many trips planned. Is your Cruise the 4 night one? I am sad we had to cancel ours. We will do one at some point!

AK is so fun! We always have fun there!

Hopefully you'll enjoy it a little more next time when you're feeling better and its not as hot!! Haha yeah I feel like riding with people who go a lot would be so annoying!! I hope at some point I'm with six people to fill up a whole car. I feel like that would be so fun!

Yes! Its a really long trip too lol we are going to do universal to start, then the four night cruise and end it with a few days at Disney! This has definitely been our year of Disney! haha but as of right now its the last trip DH and I have planned unless I can get him to agree to a NYE trip in Disney. Still working on that! lol

This is what makes me a bit concerned about the ride. It's not like Test Track where although you share a car with people, you just sit an enjoy it. With MF it seems like there would be some interaction with the other guests. Maybe good, but could easily be bad.
Too bad to hear Galaxy's Edge wasn't quite the experience you hoped for. Hopefully your next visit will be better. I suspect once the 2nd ride is open it will improve the land.

First, what does everyone think about the gondola problems?
I was surprised there was an accident already. It really makes you wonder if this was the best decision.
I hadn't really planned on riding them anyway, at least not going out of my way to do it. If my wife hears about it (she doesn't follow the Disney news like I do) then there's no chance she'll set foot in one.

She told me how wonderful these trips are and how much it means to her! She said we have made so many wonderful memories together and it is so special to her:lovestruc Ahh, this made a mother happy!

That's such a wonderful moment from the trip. It's great to hear the trips are mutually loved and hopefully you two can continue doing them for many years to come.

We were hungry and Satuli was our destination. This is one of our favorite places to eat lately and it is a must on our trips.

Agreed, it's a great restaurant!

This was a really nice evening. The park was not real crowded and the weather actually cooled some. A storm had come through before we had arrived at AK and this did help temper the heat!

When it comes to Animal Kingdom, that's a rare treat! Glad the August heat wasn't too brutal for you guys that evening.

We really like Yak and Yeti, 2 years ago we had our Thanksgiving Dinner there, it was a great time!

Hopefully Disney will learn from this and the Skyliner will be a good mode of transportation. I watched The TimTracker and they said the ride is quite quick and much faster then the bus!
Aww that's too sweet!

I gather your Star Wars experience wasn't the greatest, based on your comment and some others, and I hope you'll have some better experiences with it in the future. At least Dinosaur was there to console you
Andi is mostly always sweet :lovestruc
GE was spectacular in many ways and also meh in some, if that makes sense :confused3
Dinosaur always makes things better!

I totally understand that! These things are so chaotic- it's hard to think clearly.
I so agree!! This was first AP event we could do and I was so nervous I would screw it up!
Ugh that's frustrating. That's my concern since it's going to be just two of us when we go.
It really can make a difference how the other 4 people in your small ship area act! As we all know some Disney guests can be so annoying!
That is disappointing. I'm surprised Disney wasn't more accomodating.
I know! We really wanted to try the kefta vegetarian dish. It was disappointing to find out it was the only vegetarian at both QS places and it had nuts in it!
Ugh i wasn't sold on riding them to begin with and now I really don't want to! Luckily no one was injured but can you even imagine if this had happened at noon in the summer! Trapped in the air for 3 hours in the heat of the day would be terrible!
Makes me a little nervous but I am still going to try these out someday!
She is a sweetheart most days!
Love this picture! I love the Tree of Life at night!
Ahh Thank you! I love the Tree of Life at night, so pretty!

You are so right. The ship area is small and if the other guests are yelling and acting annoying it really detracts from the experience. We couldn’t even really hear what was happening on the screen. I understand it is exciting and there will be yelling, however in my opinion, it just doesn’t work well with this ride.
I really liked the land I just wasn’t totally sold yet on it!
I was surprised there was an accident already. It really makes you wonder if this was the best decision.
I hadn't really planned on riding them anyway, at least not going out of my way to do it. If my wife hears about it (she doesn't follow the Disney news like I do) then there's no chance she'll set foot in one.
I will ride the Skyliner, but this does make it a little more scary. I wonder what happens if you are stuck over the lake portion?? How would you get evacuated if you had to? I don’t like that picture in my head!

That's such a wonderful moment from the trip. It's great to hear the trips are mutually loved and hopefully you two can continue doing them for many years to come.
It really was, we do have so many happy moments from our WDW trips! I have watched my sweet girl turn into a beautiful young adult and the plus is she still loves Disney trips with her mom!
Agreed, it's a great restaurant!
Thumbs for Satuli!
When it comes to Animal Kingdom, that's a rare treat! Glad the August heat wasn't too brutal for you guys that evening.
You are so right! This park can be brutal in the heat! It really was a nice evening. We found AK to be the least crowded park this past trip! Epcot was 2nd!

I thought I would update this current TR with a little PTR info!

First, some unfortunate cancellations have had to be made. Andi has had some extra college expenses for her International Studies. The responsible mother that I am, will use some of my vacation funds  To pay for these!

We had a Thanksgiving week trip planned and this has to be cut!
It is a bummer :charac2: cue the sad music!
I really wanted to do the CP and check out some Christmas decor and Andi loves to spend her Birthday in Disney. We would have been there for her 20th Birthday!

Our 2nd cancellation is the cruise portion of our January trip, more sad music!! 😭 I just couldn’t spend the $2100.00 on the cruise portion, especially when the extra college $$ is around this price tag! Andi was a little sad except she knows we will definitely do a Disney Cruise at some point!

Now the good news, we will still be going to Disney in January! 🤩 Our Trip will be 1/14-1/20 at OKW. I rented points from an owner right here on the Dis! This was paid for awhile ago and not easy to cancel so no changing this! More good news “cue the happy music”:dancer: We have added 4 more nights to this trip. I got a great AP rate at Pop, it is around $110.00 a night. We will move here on 1/20-1/24. The cost to change our flight would have cost about the same as our Pop reservation so of course we will stay at Disney longer!!

442967

We have a few ADR’s for January at this time. I have the new character breakfast at The Riviera booked and a lunch at BoG. I also have a morning ADR for Oga’s Canteen, mainly to get in The Land! I will slowly add a few more ADR’s but I am not to concerned with that. We have been enough now and have found ADR’s during the trip are fairly easy to come by.

We will be able to say hi to some Dis friends in January, yay!
Jenny and Ariane will be there. I hope to get my drink on with them at Jock Lindsey’s bar in DS! This will be so fun!

Andi’s friend R, who we had dinner with at Via Napoli, was accepted into the CP and she will be there in January! She will be a CM in attractions some where yay! Andi will visit with her during our trip. Andi’s Dream was the CP and she now wants to keep her studies on track and spend time abroad for her degree so she hasn’t applied to the CP. I secretly wanted her too, of course, except I am glad that she is on a great path for her degree!

These are our current plans for January!

I have also made a reservation for our March trip! I am hoping this is still a go! Our current dates are 3/22-3/28 at The Gran Destino tower at CS. I got a decent AP rate for a standard view room. The flight costs are crazy during spring break so this will play a factor in this trip happening. This is Andi’s spring break week and probably our last trip with AP’s. We maybe able to arrange a few Dis meets this week as well. Kelly and Cloe maybe there during this time. I will also try to say hi to Doc on both my trips since he live there!

I have not made any plans for March yet, I am a slacker! :hyper:

We will enjoy F&G for sure, we love this festival it is our favorite one!

I will keep you all updated on our plans so don’t worry!!

This is our future WDW plans, what do you all think! I love hearing from all you experts! Let me know about some favorite must do Disney things, you all can’t live without!!

My sister has done two studies abroad, one in Manchester, England and the other in Salamanca, Spain. If Andi has any questions I can definitely ask my sister if she has any tips!

I'm glad you were able to make lemonade out of lemons after canceling the cruise!! Definitely will be nice to have that extra Disney time!

Hope we can meet up in March!! I was SHOCKED by the flight prices though. We got a good price on our flight home but man the prices SKYROCKETED once SW opened up their flights!!

Sad to read you had to cancel but totally understandable. I have a senior in college and one in law school so get it . But glad you have other trips to look forward to soon .

. I have the new character breakfast at The Riviera booked
I have this booked with @ariane37 in January!!! I am so excited for this one!

Jenny and Ariane will be there. I hope to get my drink on with them at Jock Lindsey’s bar in DS! This will be so fun!
Heck ya!!! This is DEFINITELY happening!

Our current dates are 3/22-3/28 at The Gran Destino tower at CS.
We are staying there the 8th to 11th.

Nooo, that's so sad!

Our 2nd cancellation is the cruise portion of our January trip, more sad music!! 😭 I just couldn’t spend the $2100.00 on the cruise portion, especially when the extra college $$ is around this price tag!

Aww, even more sadness!

This definitely helps to soften the blow of that cruise cancellation.

Andi’s Dream was the CP and she now wants to keep her studies on track and spend time abroad for her degree so she hasn’t applied to the CP

I did the CP and it was great (mostly), but one of the things I regret most is not doing a semester abroad. I think she's probably made a good choice!

Too bad about cancelling your November trip! I completely get the $$$$ factor. Jack is also interested in studying abroad....he is looking at England for a semester next year. It is such a great opportunity for them. :)

January's plans look great and that is an awesome AP rate for POP! Sadly I won't get a March trip in this year...... BUT I am taking Jamie and Stuart to NYC for their grade 12 grad trip over March Break so that will be fun!

I did not renew my annual pass either.... the price increase was too much for me, especially with the CDN to US exchange rate. :(

Sorry that you've had to make some cancellations! That's a bummer! But for a very good reason, putting Andi's studies first. Your plans for your other trips look like a lot of fun though! Especially in January when you'll be able to meet up with some Disfriends. And I'm glad you mentioned the character breakfast at Topolino's Terrace because it hadn't even been on my radar, but I checked it out this morning and was able to add it to our December trip. :) Always fun to try something new!
