Hotel Upgrade or Room Upgrade

Hi all, I wonder if someone can help.

I am going to WDW 31 Days time, all paid for, just the two of us, and we booked the whole holiday with Virgin, that was a mistake, but I digress. As our finical situation has improved we decided to try for an upgrade to our room or even our hotel. I rang Virgin on the number given and was told it was far too late to get any form of upgrade and they could not help me. So my questions are these;

Is it possible to get an upgrade assuming one is available.
Who at Disney do I ring? Do I ring the Hotel direct or the UK booking line?

Ayy help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, working on your dates it seems you will be there for Thanksgiving? That could well be why Virgin are saying they don't have any room availability as its one of the busiest times at WDW. If you are there for a 2 week stay you may have better luck doing a split stay and upgrading the second half of the holiday after Thanksgiving weekend?

I did this with TUI in 2017, I continued to monitor their packages online after I had booked. Once something better came up for the same price or less I just rang up and switched hotels. In that case I originally booked to stay off site on international drive and ended up in a preferred room at Pop for an extra £20 for the whole family.

When you check into your Disney Resort, they'll be able to call up and give you your options.

However as pointed out above, it looks like you'll arriving at one of the busiest times of year, so may find they can't move you for your whole stay. I'd be open to a split stay
