How do I dispute a charge on CIP? I was accidentally double charged for something, and the rep I spoke to said to talk to cc company about it....I think I'll need to get them to reverse it (?)

I see a link to dispute on the compose message screen in SM. Have both charges posted? If the charging company made the mistake, I wonder why they don't just refund it.

We'd probably fly out of either BWI or Philadelphia. Is JetBlue only good out of Boston?

I'm in Norcal, so if you're trying to get to LAX it could be different, but from my experience the directs out of PHL are only on United and AA. SW works, but will have a layover. JB doesn't fly to PHL as far as I know. DD was in college until very recently and I am far too familiar with those PHL to SFO options since we were booking flights 4-5 times a year at a minimum. Can't speak for BWI to CA, but they usually seem to have more options internationally. I hope this helps.

Thanks to everyone who commented. Not going to lie, it’s been rough week.

I’ve cancelled most of our trip. I booked one night at GF through AAvacations and one night through useaamiles. They both cancelled the night. USeaamiles won’t charge the cancellation fee. I had to contact custom relations at AAvacations and they haven’t gotten back to me about the $200 fee yet. But even if I don’t get it refunded at least I’ll have the 120,000 whatever AA available to use at some point.

I have also reached out to runDisney about maybe refunding the half marathon fee. I’ve heard of some people getting it refunded or partially refunded for a good reason.

The good news is that Dh, who would never set foot in GF, has agreed to stay there the night we return from our cruise in Nov.

Thanks again everyone. No more sad news. Just going to keep building miles for all the travel I want to do when surgery and recovery is all over.

First off, I'm so sorry for what you are going through. Thinking all good thoughts for your treatment and recovery.

In terms of runDisney, hopefully given your circumstances, they will refund you the race registration. However, if they do not, you can reach out to them to have them send you your race shirt(s) and any other merchandise you might have pre-ordered. They did this for me when my Mom passed away earlier this year and I had to cancel my Rival Run race weekend plans. I've been able to sell a couple of the items on eBay. Small consolation, I know, and won't fully make up the cost of the race registration, but it's something. I did find others very accommodating. Luckily, I had booked flights on SW, so those I could just cancel without penalty. DVC cancelled my reservation and fully restored my points and also fully refunded my dining plan purchase. I hope everything works out!

Used up the Biz Plat Dell credit last week (total $101 and change). The 10% Amex Offer credit posted first. Today the full $100 Biz Plat credit posted.

Umm...if you're going to be clawing back, shouldn't you fix the algorithm first??
YES!!! This is my thought exactly. They have a flawed system. Why not just fix it and move on? Are $10 clawbacks really necessary?
I cancelled my wife's the other night...forgot to cancel mine yesterday so thanks for the reminder, lol!!
Did you close before the AF hit?

I tried Google with no luck. When you add MCGC to Plastiq do they pool into one account? Or are you required to make multiple smaller payments? If I want to pay my mortgage can I add and pool multiple gift cards in order to make the payment with 1 check?
Thank you

I thought I'd post this, which I've posted in the past for you (in case you missed it previously) and others who may be new to this thread in case they have not seen it before. PC strategies to avoid annual fees are one thing and may work if one doesn't have an emergency, need to book asap and can't PC back for whatever reason. The topic of keeping a high AF card like the CSR comes up fairly often and for those newer to the game will cause a knee jerk reaction and people assume that keeping a lower AF card like the CIP or CSR is more cost effective. That well may be true in some cases. However, I think it is important to look at the big picture because it may actually cost a person more to keep the lower AF card if they are redeeming for paid travel in the UR portal. Below, I have copied, pasted and added to one of my previous posts:

I see quite often where folks can get sticker shock when it comes to the AF of a card, especially one as high as the CSR. I think it is important to look well beyond the bonus and that high AF before passing judgement with a knee jerk reaction as you may wind up paying more for not having it in the long run.

The CSR is $450 and comes with a $300 travel credit that can be triggered for a number of things. Merchants in the travel category like airlines, hotels, motels, timeshares (DVC dues), campgrounds, car rental agencies, cruise lines, travel agencies, discount travel sites, and operators of passenger trains, buses, taxis, limousines, ferries, toll bridges and highways, and parking lots, garages, Undercover Tourist etc.

If your household spends $300 per year in any combination of these categories then the travel credit will be triggered and the CSR will be a $150 AF per year card because you were spending that money anyhow with or without the card. For me, it's tolls for work and I spend well over $300 a year on those. Fortunately, I do get reimbursed on it so it is "free money" in my case. I also have DVC so even without the tolls, I am spending over $300 each year in a travel category for annual dues. Assuming that you wish to keep either a CIP or CSP for use at .0125 cpp in the UR portal or to transfer to an airline or hotel you are paying $95 per year for that card. The difference between that and the CSR is $55.

Math: $450 AF on CSR - $300 travel credit you are spending anyway = $150. Difference between $150 CSR - $95 CIP/CSP = $55.

I am not even going to go into the fact that the CSR will earn 3x vs 2x on dining and travel because I have all but sock drawered the card and the extra point earning is irrelevant with the point I am trying to make here. It's literally icing on the cake.

The important thing to look at is what does it cost you per year to redeem your UR points through the travel portal? It is very possible that keeping a CSP or CIP over a CSR is actually costing you more money. This is especially true for those who are redeeming for paid coach seats on flights via the UR portal. More often than not it costs fewer points to redeem coach airfare via the UR portal over transferring points to an airline.

Let's say you are going to redeem a $300 RT flight for a party of 2. That's $600. If you hold a CSP or CIP that should cost you 48,000 UR points. If you hold a CSR those flights would cost you 40,000 points. That is a difference of 8,000 points which is equivalent to $100 in the CSP/CIP UR portal. So holding the CIP or CSP over the CSR just cost you $100 in points. When you factor in the $55 difference then it cost you $45 to keep a card with a "lower AF". That is just one redemption example. How much is it costing a family of 4 to keep the lower AF card?

I second all of this. Just paid my CSR Annual Fee again. It is a big chunk of change but has also saved me so much. Most of the points I have used have been for Cruises. Example: Cruise costs $3000 but I only have to use 200,000 UR"s so just saved $1000 right there. I have done this on 3 cruises so far. So easily making my money back on this card.

CSR AF talks had me wondering this last night... I was going to PC DHs because I have one currently, and will that cause any issues if I book him a rental car with URs under my account/my CSR and the rental car insurance? Any thoughts on that?

We have used URs to pay for 3 cruises as well, all to Europe. We are going fancy on the next one in April and have upgraded ourselves to a deluxe suite. I was able to snag a Jr. suite on our last trip for less than $2k total (150k UR) for a 7-night cruise and DH really liked all the extra space so he requested something even larger for next time. Maybe I should start calling him a cabin queen? :rotfl2:

Beautiful. thanks for posting this. I am seriously considering PC'ing my CSR which I've had since it was first offered down to CSP after I get and use that TC in a couple of weeks. The only big question I have right at the moment is...is is smarter to use that TC to buy OOP some of our Uni tix we're going to need for spring,or just use UR (with CSR) to get them? which makes more sense?

You’re welcome. Clearly, CSR is a card that I will never cancel or PC.

It depends on how you value those UR points and whether or not it’s worth it to you. PlanePrincess and I just had a similar discussion on using UR points for a Hyatt stay or going elsewhere and maybe paying OOP. In the end it was decided that our UR points were too valuable for other things than to waste on a Hyatt transfer since we just needed a place to sleep and weren’t planning on hanging out at the hotel at all. Meanwhile, Ashford Castle for next year was booked by paying with UR points on the travel portal.

I believe the name on the Driver's license has to match the name on the credit card so I do not believe you can do this. Though I remember @SouthFayetteFan was doing this and was able to? Am I remembering that right? Maybe it was with free driver, so rental was under Mrs SFF but since he had free 2nd driver all was good because she was there but didn't want to drive. But if Zack is by himself then I am thinking no go.

Don't forget that if you had the CSP then you need to wait 48 months after that bonus posting before you can apply for a CSR to get the SUB. You can upgrade a card though, just will not get the SUB.
If you PC to a CSR, then PC back to a CF or CSP, does that reset the 48 month clock for receiving the SUB again? I think not, but want to make sure.

Still not working for me. 🙁 I'm going to try to install the app on our iPad tonight. DD5 is the only one who is happy about having a 3rd 35% off Olive Garden offer, lol. Hoping for the BJs offer!
Obviously I'm missing something for the Chase offers. I can see them on personal accounts just fine. What magic do I need to see them for biz logins?

EDIT - found them in the app, but it crashes every time I click to see more offers. Updated app, but maybe I need to uninstall and reinstall.

I just installed the app (had it on my old phone but hadn't put it on my new phone yet), and I can't see all of my offers either. It either crashes or just shows me a list to choose my account, but it just doesn't work. So frustrating! Maybe I'll try installing the app on another device tonight to see if I can get it to work.

Chase Business Ink cards. Seems pretty widely targeted.
I can click on the 2 offers that show first, but when I click see other offers the app crashes. Has anyone else had this problem accessing the offers on the app using an android phone? I've uninstalled and installed. I can access all offers on my personal cards, but it crashes every time I click on see all offers for the biz card offers.

Offers are up on the website now. I see it when viewing in desktop, didn't notice them when it was a mobile web page. (log out and login fixed mobile web, must have been a refresh problem or something)

In June, I rented from Alamo with my CSR. I was told the name on the rental agreement had to match the name on the card & I had to show them the card and my DL. I was going to be an authorized driver anyway (since Costco allows a free one) so we changed the agreement from DH's name to mine. Not sure how URs would play into that, but if you have to make a claim for damages, and only DH's name is on the contract that could get messy.

This was the rental where I left it with valet, and the rental car got hit by another guest entering the parking area. That claim still hasn't been resolved, and that was 5 months ago. I've called at least 4 times for updates, and it's still in pending mode. I really hope you don't have to ever deal with something like this, and this is with the CSR and rental agreement in my name.

ETA: It's not Chase giving me the runaround on this, it's Alamo's Damage Recovery Unit.

Way to wait till last minute, my SW Priority AF was charged Nov 1 so it will reset after the close of this statement on Nov 14. I just finished off my $75 credit. I thought I was just $2 short, but I guess I miscalculated and counted a SW refund as part of my credit earlier. We are flying out tomorrow and will also use the last 2 A boarding upgrades even though we got decent early B positions, might as well use them up! As soon as the statement closes I will add myself as companion to our Cancun trip in January. The international fees are high, so that should wipe out the whole $75 credit.
