Hello ,
We were thinking of renting a one day minivan from the Dolphin for Christmas Eve to move to AK and to go to Christmas even Mass at Celebration, but the one day rental is very high for that day , we need one car seat for a toddler. We are trying to get an idea about how much it would be for the Minnie Van instead. It's 6 of us plus the baby.
Any ideas?
We were going to try to attend the Mass at the Contemporary on the 25th , but we would have to go from AK to the Contemporary very early, we usually stay up late on Christmas even, so not crazy about having to take the bus and then the boat to Mass, unless we order the Minnie Van for the 25th for Mass.
Any ideas?
thank you all!

Are you trying to get to the Contemporary Resort or to Celebration?

I’m not sure Minnie Vans go to Celebration.

Also not sure that a Minnie Van can hold 6 plus a baby.

To celebration on the 24th and if not , to the Contemporary on the 25th.

Minnie vans are only available on property, to airport and a few non-owned resorts. No transportation to Celebration.

Minnie vans capacity is 6 people. You need to either take Lfyt or Uber (not sure about a car seat though) for Celebration.

Your best bet would be to get up early, order two Minnie vans and do mass at Contemporary.

If you're going to split up into 2 vehicles anyway, it would be cheaper to do 1 Minnie Van (provides 2 car seats) and 1 Uber/Lyft.
yes, that would make more sense , my DH is saying that since our DGS wakes up at 7 am anyway, that we could be by the buses at 9 am and make it to the Contemporary by 1030 am, I think thats the last Mass.

That would be a lot better. Save the MinnieVan for a less-frazzled time when the kids can actually enjoy it.

I will reserve a minivan for one day and see how things look the day before, I could always cancel the reservation.
thank you all for your responses !

You request a Minnie Van the moment you want it, not before. You do it using the Lyft app. (Unless you need a handicapped accessible Minnie Van, which I believe you must request by phone.)

Handicapped and to go to/from Airport. Otherwise, right, no reserving in advance for on property transportation.
They have greatly increased the fleet of late, even adding the Suburbans in to regular service when not needed for airport runs. It's no where near as hard to get now. Still, there are some times and days where it's still tough

By minivan, the poster meant an actual minivan and not Minnie Van. One one option they mentioned in the original post was renting one at the Dolphin. Sound they have just in case reservation for the minivan.

yes, a rental from Alamo for the 24th , better to have it just in case we don't want to get up early on the 25th, lol

There is no reserving in advance. It is like an uber/taxi in that it is an on-demand service.

I meant a rental minivan, I just booked one using Priceline for $ 99.99 for one day. Not bad, probably cheaper than the Minnie Van, anyway.

Did you consider the Candlelight Processional? While not quite a religious event and narrated by a celebrity, not a clergyperson, it's a beautiful "service" and makes a reasonable substitute (unless you want communion), plus it's walking distance from the Boardwalk.

Yes, we are doing the candlelight processional ! , but for us , there's no substitution for Sunday Mass and Holy Communion, but thank you for your response. In all the almost 10 years of going to DW sometimes twice a year, we have never missed Sunday Mass.

oh, I just realized that it's not for Sunday Mass but Christmas ! to us, The reason for the season !
beautiful services at Corpus Christi in Celebration , we were told !
