“Life is Grand, it Yacht to be, we are at Disney! 1/29 New TR link, a question, and this TR is complete!

I thought I would update this current TR with a little PTR info!

First, some unfortunate cancellations have had to be made. Andi has had some extra college expenses for her International Studies. The responsible mother that I am, will use some of my vacation funds  To pay for these!

We had a Thanksgiving week trip planned and this has to be cut!
It is a bummer :charac2: cue the sad music!
I really wanted to do the CP and check out some Christmas decor and Andi loves to spend her Birthday in Disney. We would have been there for her 20th Birthday!

Our 2nd cancellation is the cruise portion of our January trip, more sad music!! 😭 I just couldn’t spend the $2100.00 on the cruise portion, especially when the extra college $$ is around this price tag! Andi was a little sad except she knows we will definitely do a Disney Cruise at some point!

Now the good news, we will still be going to Disney in January! 🤩 Our Trip will be 1/14-1/20 at OKW. I rented points from an owner right here on the Dis! This was paid for awhile ago and not easy to cancel so no changing this! More good news “cue the happy music”:dancer: We have added 4 more nights to this trip. I got a great AP rate at Pop, it is around $110.00 a night. We will move here on 1/20-1/24. The cost to change our flight would have cost about the same as our Pop reservation so of course we will stay at Disney longer!!

We have a few ADR’s for January at this time. I have the new character breakfast at The Riviera booked and a lunch at BoG. I also have a morning ADR for Oga’s Canteen, mainly to get in The Land! I will slowly add a few more ADR’s but I am not to concerned with that. We have been enough now and have found ADR’s during the trip are fairly easy to come by.

We will be able to say hi to some Dis friends in January, yay!
Jenny and Ariane will be there. I hope to get my drink on with them at Jock Lindsey’s bar in DS! This will be so fun!

Andi’s friend R, who we had dinner with at Via Napoli, was accepted into the CP and she will be there in January! She will be a CM in attractions some where yay! Andi will visit with her during our trip. Andi’s Dream was the CP and she now wants to keep her studies on track and spend time abroad for her degree so she hasn’t applied to the CP. I secretly wanted her too, of course, except I am glad that she is on a great path for her degree!

These are our current plans for January!

I have also made a reservation for our March trip! I am hoping this is still a go! Our current dates are 3/22-3/28 at The Gran Destino tower at CS. I got a decent AP rate for a standard view room. The flight costs are crazy during spring break so this will play a factor in this trip happening. This is Andi’s spring break week and probably our last trip with AP’s. We maybe able to arrange a few Dis meets this week as well. Kelly and Cloe maybe there during this time. I will also try to say hi to Doc on both my trips since he live there!

I have not made any plans for March yet, I am a slacker! :hyper:

We will enjoy F&G for sure, we love this festival it is our favorite one!

I will keep you all updated on our plans so don’t worry!!

This is our future WDW plans, what do you all think! I love hearing from all you experts! Let me know about some favorite must do Disney things, you all can’t live without!!
We will just miss you in Jan!!! We arrive on the 24th!

Loving your TR!!!

It is a balmy 12 degrees this morning, we have fast forward to January temps already.
Yikes!!!!! That is just wrong in November. I was complaining about the 30's. I'll keep my mouth shut now

IMG_Nov72019at72014AM.jpg
❤ ❤ ❤

We also saw a new to us photo opportunity. This was for the Lion King promotion. We got our namaste on with Rafiki.

Great picture!!! I hadn't seen this at all. Love the very zen poses

We wandered to the back area to meet Mr. Dugan, he was a mere 4500# and over 6 feet.
Svelte little boy :P

The tour is 1 hour long, and this was just right in the August heat. Since, the tour is back stage and photos are a nono, the CM offers to take your photo with a prop at the end. This was very nice. They use your phone or camera, not photopass.
Too bad they don't let you take pictures. I can see not wanting you to take pictures of the back stage area, but I'd think they would at least let you take photos of the Rhino since ya know you paid for a rhino tour.

Do you think we ordered the bread service? ::yes:: Of course we did, yummy. We love this and enjoy all the dips that come with it. I like the more cool, veggie ones and Andi loves the spicy ones. I also really like the garlic one. Breath mints to follow:laughing:

Disney dining perfection. We missed Sanaa in August and I'm kicking myself.

This is great. We're usually lucky just to get clean towels and never get anything remotely like this.

Glad you enjoyed the rhino tour! When we did ours in September the white rhino building was under construction so we visited the black rhinos. I think I need to do it again at some point to visit the white rhinos!

The Cinderella carriage towel is adorable! Really stepping up their towel game there haha

It is a balmy 12 degrees this morning, we have fast forward to January temps already. To say I am not thrilled, is a huge understatement.
Ugh! Winter has definitely hit here, too. We didn't get below 20, but it still was extremely unpleasant  I'm already counting the days until spring!

I think our record was 9x in a row and Andi’s Everest record was 11x in a row, those days are gone now!
Wow! Things have changed so much these days :guilty:

It was time for our flight and it was awesome as always, minus the um guy. :rotfl:

What a lovely day so far! Sounds like you hit the right balance of park fun and relaxing :thumbsup2 And how great you got to see @MeghanEmily. I wish I had this trip, too!

The Rhino Tour sounds like great fun!

I'm sad that the EMH aren't as great as they used to be. I especially loved the EMH at MK - three hours of fairly minimal crowds (especially as your neared the early morning) and you could knock out several rides quickly. I'm willing to pony up extra money for AH but it's too bad that those easy days are done!
I am really glad we had the chance to do the tour, I highly recommend
I miss the old EMH With way more hours. I remember being at MK until 2-3am and doing so many rides. I wonder if they will take the hours away all together? I sure hope not. We still find the morning hour at most parks to be worth it.

Extra Magic Hours used to be the best time to be in the parks! I loved going to them late at night and seeing how many turns I could get on my favorite attractions. Now it's the thing I try to avoid! :sad2:

How cool you got to meet Meghan! I'm sure she was just as sweet and nice as she is here on the boards. :goodvibes

I love reading about this rhino tour. It sounds like such a nice little add-on to an AK day.

That bread service...looks delicious!
I agree, I remember 3 hours at MK in the evening, lasting until 3am.
It was nice meeting up with Meghan for a few minutes, she is so nice. I had met her one other time at MK on another trip.
I highly recommend the Rhino tour and the delicious bread service.

Great start to the day . Looking forward to the evening part. Especially the junk food part ; )
Thank you it was a fun day! Resort hopping and some junk food coming up!
Hello! I'm new to posting, but I have read and enjoyed several of your mother/daughter trips. You and Andi always seem to have so much fun together! Looking forward to the rest of your report!
:welcome::flower1: Yay for starting to post and commenting on my report! We do travel so well together.
So cold where you are! Stay warm!
It is still super cold. Today is so cold yuck!
So nice getting to see Meghan (and later Ariella!)
yes it was really nice
Sounds like a good time with the Dugan! Followed by a nice lunch at AKL!
This is a informative and fun tour and Sanaa lunch is always so yummy
EW. Wasn't quite that cold here this morning, but it wasn't much warmer.
We are stuck in a really cold spell and I hate it, lol!
Can't wait to see Kevin and get some pics of her! Love that bird
Kevin is such a fun character to see, I get all giddy when she comes by
That would be nice. Things have definitely changed a lot.
EMH in the past was really special for resort guests!
That's nice of them! Good photo!
I think it is new to get a picture after the tour, nice touch.
Great pic!

Sounds like it was a good morning and lunch at Sanaa!
I like the banshee photos, we always do the CM point

The rhino tour sounded great. And I bet it is Dugan I saw on the safari last March. They were not allowing stopping in that part of the safari as they were introducing a new rhino to the group. And it was a male that they were hoping to breed. They also said that the first few weeks he was there the girl rhinos were all chasing him around and he was a bit spooked by that, but it had been improving by the time I was there. They had food type pick ups parked off to the sides in a few spots with cast members sitting with binolulars watching what was happening out there.
That is cool! I am sure that must have been Dugan. That is funny about the female rhinos getting so excited to have a new stud around :rotfl: He was very calm and enjoying the human attention during the tour.

It is a balmy 12 degrees this morning,

What?? I hope you mean Celcius!

We saw Kevin upon arrival, she is so cute!
IMG_Nov72019at71558AM.jpg

Love her!

Andi took our picture before we said our goodbye. It was nice saying hi to you Meghan! I didn’t realize at this time that we would meet again.
IMG_Nov72019at72014AM.jpg

You both look adorable! Great pic!

This was for the Lion King promotion. We got our namaste on with Rafiki.

So cute!!

This was a wonderful day so far, oh how I love AK and Sanaa.

Sounds perfectly perfect :goodvibes

I feel your pain. We have already had the dreadful, white stuff.
It is so cold here right now, yuck!
I LOVE her!!!!
I do too Kevin is awesome
That is soooo cool. She is soooo cute!!!!
It was so nice to say hi! She was keeping cool with her cute braids
You are soooo lucky. I would LOVE to meet Ariela!!!
It was random that day but we had met up earlier in MK with Kari!
Hey! That's exactly what it was here this morning, too!
Ugh, still really cold here!
In Florida? In August? One wouldn't think so...
I want that heat back right now
They did such a good job with her, didn't they????
I agree, I love seeing her!
Have you ever seen the movie The Freshman with Marlon Brando and Mathew Broderick?
Yes, so long ago........
don't think I could take that much jostling!
I really can’t now. My back couldn’t take it
think I'd be puking after 5-6. Certainly I felt it after 2-3.
Haha I can’t agree more, I couldn’t believe she just kept going on EE
You say you were hot, but you guys look pretty darned good! Or don't you perspire at all???
Ahh Thank you! We just had the frozen lemonade. Must have kept The sweat at bay 😆
Huh. I'm actually surprised it's that many. I thought maybe 6.
I think we had 10 on our tour
Huh! I'm surprised by that. But you did say he was from another zoo, so... okay. I imagined him being captured at 23 and couldn't quite figure out since I couldn't imagine Disney standing for that.
Yes, he came from a zoo in Philadelphia and I am not sure if he was born in captivity or not.
Surprised by that. I mean... I'd just assume there'd be some smells.
I know! I was surprised how clean it was
Really! Huh!
Yes each breed of animals has a certain call they react to and come in at night
Thanks for the descriptions. Not many people can say they've touched a rhino. Cool!
It really was very cool and definitely not something one can do often!
Meh. I can get this photo here in town any summer.
Well, okay. The mosquitoes are bigger than that, but still... pretty close.
I know that mosquito!! Northern MN has some big old mosquitoes
really like that! Never seen that before.
That was a first to get a fancy towel design.
Oof! That's rough! My family in the next province over got their first snow this week, though we just got rain here. Not looking forward to the chilly temps that I know are coming soon.
It is very cold this week, I hope Florida has warmer temps for you!
This is sad! I know it's not up to me where the tigers get to live, but I'll miss being able to see the siblings at AK.
I know, the CM said they actually need to be separated it is the way of the tigers still made me sad.
You're too sweet! You and Andi looked so cute and cool (despite the hot sweaty weather!)
You look cute in braids and keeps you cool
It was basically like touring the surface of the sun. No big deal.
It sure was and now I miss it!
was so nice to catch up with you! (Both times!)
::yes::
Wow! You girls were intense! Especially Andi!
She was, when She discovered how much she loved EE, she could ride over and over!
This is such a cute photo :)
Awesome that you got to meet Dugan! He sounds like quite a guy. We didn't meet him but they told us about him.
He was so big and just lounging haha!
Amen! I'll do lots of things if I get a good snack as a reward!

We also do this with some kids we work with in speech therapy. I worked with a little guy who was learning to use an ipad to talk, and he'd basically do backflips for you if you had skittles
Yes it works well for all species!
wondered what the story was about the coconut! Andi's funny!
I was surprised how rough and hard the hide was
Nice! Always a nice surprise to run into Disfriends :) We'd hoped to get a chance to see Ariella and her family, but the day we were thinking of meeting ended up not being a great day for us in the end. Hopefully another time!
It was fun to just run into her at Sanaa

How awesome is that Rhino tour??? I did that in May with @Jenny Sanders and her DH but Steve hadn't arrived yet and I really want to do it again with him and the boys.

We have not been to Sanaa in way too long! I think I need to remedy that!
I loved the Rhino tour and I could see doing it again. There is so much to learn and different Rhinos you can meet!
The bread service keeps us going back almost every trip!

Such an awesome tour
::yes::
Aren't the Destino prices great?! We're thinking about it for the April trip.
The prices are really great and It looks so nice!
Glad you enjoyed the Rhino tour, we thought it was fantastic too!
Yay! Glad you liked it too
Yikes!!!!! That is just wrong in November. I was complaining about the 30's. I'll keep my mouth shut now
It is terrible for early November, yuck!
Great picture!!! I hadn't seen this at all. Love the very zen poses
I love finding new photo pass spots
Svelte little boy
You got that right:rotfl:
Too bad they don't let you take pictures. I can see not wanting you to take pictures of the back stage area, but I'd think they would at least let you take photos of the Rhino since ya know you paid for a rhino tour.
I suppose one idiot would take a picture of something else backstage and that would be it!
Disney dining perfection. We missed Sanaa in August and I'm kicking myself.
We always enjoy Sanaa yummy!
This is great. We're usually lucky just to get clean towels and never get anything remotely like this.
This was a first for us, we sometimes get a Mickey towel.

Glad you enjoyed the rhino tour! When we did ours in September the white rhino building was under construction so we visited the black rhinos. I think I need to do it again at some point to visit the white rhinos!

The Cinderella carriage towel is adorable! Really stepping up their towel game there haha
I think it is a tour you can do a few times!
I loved the Cinderella carriage, so cute!

Ugh! Winter has definitely hit here, too. We didn't get below 20, but it still was extremely unpleasant  I'm already counting the days until spring!
I could cry, it got cold so fast and winter is long enough!
Wow! Things have changed so much these days :guilty:
Miss the EMH of the past
What a lovely day so far! Sounds like you hit the right balance of park fun and relaxing :thumbsup2 And how great you got to see @MeghanEmily. I wish I had this trip, too!
This was a fun day and meeting Meghan was so nice and saying hi to Ariella again was fun!
What?? I hope you mean Celcius!
I wish! Today we broke a record for the coldest daytime high yay! It was a high of 16 today, crazy!
Love her!
Kevin makes me happy
You both look adorable! Great pic!
Ahh Thanks, It was already so hot that day and it was still pretty early, I wish it was that hot here!
So cute!!
:thanks:
Sounds perfectly perfect :goodvibes
It really was such a fun day! I always have a good time at AK and Sanaa

The plan was to meet @docsoliday1 his wife and Tracy by the Island Mercantile.
Sounds like an awesome meet
She was great, most likely because it wasn’t her phone! If it was hers she would have probably fell apart! Am I right? A young adult without their phone=disaster in epic size!
::yes::
YAy Meghan Emily
Andi went with the chickpea wat, what is that
:rotfl2:
