@tzolkin welcome!! The CSP is a great card, however a few things-

The CSR (Chase Sapphire Reserve) is the premium version of the CSP.It may be worth considering for a few reasons:
1. You can use points at 1.5x redemption when booking via the Chase portal. (Ie if you book $100 in travel it costs 6,600 UR vs the 1.25x redemption/8,000UR of the CSP)
2. The annual fee is $450 BUT will come with a $300 travel credit. You can use this immediately and then a second time on your card anniversary for $600 in value (without paying a 2nd AF)

The CSR is only $450 for a few more days, and will increase to $550 on Monday. It MAY come with a higher SUB after the increase, but thats pure speculation at this point. Even if you get in on the lower fee, you will get $60 in doordash credits for 2020 and 2021, and 15% off Lyft. You can only get ONE Sapphire bonus every 4 years so its important to weigh both cards. Basically, you can get the $450 AF card and get $720 out of the credits right now, plus the 50k points worth $750 in the UR portal.
UR also transfer to southwest and british airways (and BA can be used to book AA flights).

All of that being said 2 questions
1. By “we” do you mean you and your partner are both on the cards? We generally recommend avoiding that as it adds to your 5/24 count. You are at 2/24 right now and you could EACH get a sapphire and combine your UR as chase allows sharing between households.
2. Are you open to business cards? The CIP is a Chase biz card with a 80k sign up bonus and will NOT add to your 5/24 count.

Okay we’ll call tomorrow and see what they say. We had some nights in the 40s earlier this week. I’m 100% enjoying the weather here lol. It will never get old. When we saw people in Iowa they were like “don’t you miss having seasons?”. I was like “ummm, no!”. Hmmm, would I rather have seasons or 80s in January? Tough choice 😂

ETA: I just found a website that posts daily counts and today they had a record number of 566 manatees! I think we should be good on saturday but I’ll check tomorrow to see how many there are

We went to Blue Springs National Park in the summer several years ago. There were probably a dozen or so even in June. Hope you have a nice trip and see lots of manatees!

So my SW saga continues...still no CC points...so still no CP! Will it make it by my flight next Thurs? Should we wager bets?

My card closes today, so in theory they should post tomorrow so we'll see. I noticed they still have the "Account maintenance coming soon" warning on the main page...

Awesome that’s good to hear! Do you remember how long you stayed there? I’m wondering if it’ll be an all day thing or if we should head somewhere else after before going home

I think one of you mentioned the Blue Springs State Park to see manatees (sorry I can’t remember who)? I think we’re gonna do that on Saturday if you have any tips. We’re planning to get there close to when it opens.
I think I mentioned Blue Springs. We love to camp there in the summer. Last time we were there, in July, 3 manatees (including a baby!) came into the crowded swimming area and just swam around everyone. It was so cool. If you were up to it, you could kayak and that gets you up close to them. It’s a beautiful park and after you have the baby, you can come back, swim, and there is an awesome bike trail.
Awwww American Airlines wants to give me free Platinum status through April 19! Too bad I'm not flying anywhere between now and then.... oh well!
Did you get an email or was it in your account? My husband has work flight and a flight with us on AA before April 19. Thanks!

Yeah its not 80 in January I’d mind. It’s the 95 and humid all summer that would kill me plus the hurricanes.

I received an email. Haven't looked at my account.. stand by

ETA: When I log in, it's also showing under the "Promotions" area.

Should we bet whether you get your points before me? I think others just had their statement Close and, yep, they have their points. I just don’t like that it says zero.

I think we’ll definitely be back sometime either to camp or stay in a cabin for a night. I’d love to go back and swim too. I’m not brave enough to swim in the lakes here. At least the springs have clear water. I won’t go kayaking right now but after the baby is born I would consider it

I actually didn’t mind the summer last year. I was expecting it to be horrible and I didn’t think it was too bad. Maybe I’m just made for the heat and humidity? The hurricanes do bother me. I know most people where we live don’t even leave

I know those of you here will understand my pain.

Because I had to cut 4-5 days off my Japan itinerary due to flight availability dates, I am actually considering NOT going to Tokyo Disney AT ALL. There are so many things we want to see and I have only about 9 days in which to see them.

I am so sad.

Wow that does stink! TDR is amazing! Could you do 3 days at TDR and the rest in Tokyo?

What about doing just one day at Tokyo Disneysea, since that is the really unique part of TDR? I passed up the opportunity to go 9 years ago and have been kicking myself ever since. I really wish I hadn't gone to the Shinagawa Aquarium instead.

I had originally planned 3 days TDR, 3-4 in Tokyo proper, and the remainder in Kyoto.

Uggggghhhhhhhhhhh
I feel like with 9 days it would be hard to squeeze in Kyoto. I’m kind of biased though because we liked Tokyo more. Plus TDR is absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to go back. Dh would rather go back to just tokyo for the food.
