Unfortunately that’s not a real option unless we pony up for Minnie Van. There are 6 of us and our kids are 7 and 5, so our daughter at a minimum needs a car seat (she’s also small for her age).
It’s also ridiculous that this should be the case. If the parks are opening, there should be transportation to them from all the resorts. We’re staying at Riviera partially for the proximity to Epcot and DHS. It’s not like we were trying to get there 60-90 minutes before opening. We were unable to get there before the park opened, period.
I just rode the bus today. I was out there at 5:35 a.m. and in front of the line. The bus pulled in at 5:50. Got to the park and through security and tap styles about 15 min. before 7 a.m. My app did not work, so I went over to the CM station and they got me a 84 boarding group. I may or may not get on today, as they are only on group 44 and the ride is broke down right now, at 12:48 p.m.

If you aren't able to get on because of break down's etc. but you have a boarding group, will they give you an anytime pass to come on the next day? Or, what do they do?

They will only issue guest recovery if it’s a guaranteed group that doesn’t get called.

Not a back-up group. :(
What is considered a back up group? I got there crack of dawn with everyone else, but my app wasn't working, so I had to get a CM to get me a BG and it is 84. Are you telling me, I won't get a pass for the next day if they don't get to me?

For example, today backups start at 64. Now even though Disney has never said they will guarantee a ride for anyone they have been giving guest recovery for those who are unable to ride because the attraction malfunctioned. Even people with a backup bg have received recovery in the form of fp for the next day.
They issue recovery at their discretion, no where does any ride guarantee you will get on it

Oh, okay, that's more like it. The only reason I got 84 was because my app wasn't working. I was like 5th in line with the CM's so they could secure me a group. Right now the ride is down at BG 44. I was at the park well before 7 a.m. so I was hoping this is all for not. Where do they give you the recovery pass?

Directly in the app but I’m going to guess they will likely get to your group before the end of the day.

If you get a notification that your bg will not be called go to the attraction or GR and see if they can give you a recovery fp

With the delays today has anyone heard if all elements are working properly?
I wish I could tell you, but I really don’t know for sure. (One tiny thing I knew about but didn’t see, though whether it was not happening or I just missed it is anyone’s guess.) What I DO know is that I am SO grateful that we were able to get on today and RoR is AMAZING.

I am with my daughter and my niece, grown kids who were both 100% unspoiled. They were losing their minds, as was the super cool solo dude who rode in our row with us. I loved everything about it and I can’t wait to try again on Wednesday!

I won’t post about it again unless I can provide added info, but THANK ALL OF YALL so much for the info in this thread...we couldn’t have done this without you!

Edit: We did see professional videographers at the exit. Also, I forgot to add it was 15 minutes from entrance to first ride element. Walked straight through!
