READ POST 1 & 2 FIRST-Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group Planning and Information-*No Spoilers*

How many boarding groups are they doing a day on average? This morning was a nightmare and despite all the tips I followed neither my nor my husbands join button was changing. I’m a backup group #70

Is a backup group # the same as a boarding group #?
I read your question slightly differently so I just wanted to add on to @yulilin3 's response. When the PP said they were "backup group #70", that's not to say they were the 70th backup group. They got Boarding Group #70 and backups, today, started at like #64. Hope that helps.

do you have anyone that can help you from home? Maybe with a strong WiFi signal?
I do have one other Disney fan from my real life willing to try, but she also has an iPhone and will have to update the app. She has a version from before boarding groups started so the buttons aren’t there. So we shall see if she has any better luck than I did with the new app.

Given where this photo was taken - wondering how long the wait was to get on the ride post rope drop?

Obviously depends where in the crowd but if in the middle or so probably 30-45 mins, in the back a bit over an hour - but the line should move pretty consistently and it is an interesting queue, at least for first time riders, so obviously closer to the front the better, especially if you really want to ride right away but anywhere in the bulk of the crowd should be worth it (at least that is my plan)

Went back about 1 with our anytime Fastpass and we went down the Fastpass line and probably waited about 10 minutes. Most of the show was working although 1 element late was on B mode. But it was still pretty cool. No more attempts to ride it. It was fun but it is by no means the best ride at Disney.

so my experience this morning with a non updated app was keeping it closed until 8 then launching the app. Got the red button immediately and clicked through for group 4.

Good luck everyone coming up!

Does anyone know why some people/IPhones?? are having problems and others are not.
I have a iPhone 7 and have updated the app. I was practicing from home and didn’t had any problems.

Does anyone have experience with a Fastpass or ADR conflicting with their Boarding Group time? I am curious how accommodating Disney has been with those conflicts.

you have 2 hours to return to RotR. Unless the attraction is down you will have enough time to do both. If you get called and feel the other activities will conflict you can try talking to the CM at GET to see if they can move your ADR

And make sure the app is closed before you launch it (and not just running in the background).
How do I make sure the app isn't running in the background (sorry, I'm still in 'internet 101' class)? I'm thinking I just 'close all apps'. is this right? TIA

Talk to me about practicing at home. I thought you had to be in the park to try and get a BG. We are not going until September, so who knows if it will still be done this way, but I'd like to be prepared if it is.

As explained in post 2. you can try from home at park opening, you will see the button turn red, click on it, pick your party and then when you hit join it will tell you you are not in the park

Ah, thank you. Guess I should read the first page! I was worried about getting into the thread and having to find the time to read 427 pages.

Doing it from home may not give you an accurate representation. You have personal wifi access there as well as a cell signal that is not interfered with the same way it would be at the parks.

People are saying it’s a problem with the app since it was updated two days ago.
If it works from home it’s not an app (Disney) problem. It’s a problem with the persons phone/carrier
By the way @ rteetz thanks for all you do for this group 😊💕

Not necessarily. The app isn't perfect. Just because its working from home doesn't mean you will be perfect in the park. I have the newest iPhone updated to the latest iOS and the app will still glitch from time to time. I don't have problems like some do but still its not perfect.
