This seems like common sense, but I’d like to see if anyone did this. Can anyone confirm you are able to enter the park before opening and leave immediately and still try to get the Boarding Pass at 8 am?

We have FoP FP early in AM and don’t want to risk losing it.

Yes, this has been done successfully by several people. However I don’t believe anyone has tapped into a different park before HS opening time. Also if you have a problem such as your whole party not showing up you won’t be near GET to have it fixed.

For me at home it changed to backups pretty much at 8:01. I was able to get through 4 or 5 times and choose my family before it changed to backups.

I didn’t see the exact seconds, but my observation was like @wilkydelts. It was definitely before 8:01.

Standing by home from home to get a BG for my parents, sister, and nephews who are at DHS today!

Update: sister in the park got through first and got 73 I was logged in from home and Join button didn’t turn red until about 20 seconds after 8. Ugh!

Tried from afar for the first time since app update, did not go well. Had the app open and waited until 8 to press "find out more", no red button, toggled back and forth with the status page for almost a minute before closing the app out and restarting, then it was red and already in backups. (ETA: Android 10 on a Pixel 3A, fwiw)

I didn't catch exactly when Backup BGs ended, it was 8:14am or before (I'll check other sources to confirm). Regular BGs start at 5 and end at 65, so day 8 of 61 Regular Boarding Groups.

7:33 - through turnstiles - no finger scan today
Found a seat at a table behind Anaheim produce
7:59:55 - opened my app - no red light - hit “my status” - no luck. Closed app all the way, boarding group was red - selected DH and I - “something went wrong” message - freaking out time - DS texts me from home and tells me he got us BG 51. Whew!
This is my third time riding (first two were in December) and I’ve been practicing from home for a full month with great success. Have always been able to select us at least 4 times before back up groups. So it was very frustrating today to have my app not do what it’s been doing at home.
Thank goodness for help back in Ohio!

For the practices at home, it doesn't let you go past the page on app where you select your party asking "Is Everyone in the Park?" since not actually tapped in, correct?

Someone not in the park can join a BG for someone in the park 1) if they are logged in app using the person in the park's login credentials; or 2) if they are connected via friends/family. Obviously the person not in the park cannot join themselves - only for someone who is there.

Someone from home can log in and get a BG just for the people that are in the park, not themselves

Tried a practice at home at park opening 8:00, got red join button, hit back button since can't go any further (not actually tapped in) and looked like it was 8:01 and at backups.

These boarding groups go fast from what I see reporting and the "chart!"
