News Round Up 2020

Florida doesn't seem to have very many cases, unlike California. Wow! Cabin fever here we come. My husband was just told to work from home. My office hasn't said that you have to, but many people are. With so few at work, I plan to head in and enjoy a light commute for once. Looking for any silver lining here.

My brother will be working from home soon, but it won't do him any good. The rest of the household will have no such option due to the nature of our jobs (nor will we be told to stay home)...and they're not office jobs, we all have contact with the public.

My job is similar in that it isn't mandatory to work from home but encouraged. My team/boss is taking a harder stance and saying unless critical to come in we are to work from home.

They did say we can expense home office equipment if needed (external monitor, etc) so that is little silver lining here

You wonder if this will accelerate or delay refurbishment and construction schedules.

Hopefully after they sanitize everything, they paint, clean, and fix things. The honey on the Pooh ride looks awful, for one thing out of many. They can actually work in the daylight, plus this will give some employees something to do...instead of paying them to do nothing, they'll still be working. AK will obviously have some cm working too.

My guess is anything announced or unannounced that hasn't been started already is either off the table or on the chopping block.
I dunno. I think trying to make the quarter went out the window when ESPN lost all of its sports programming yesterday. Then the movie delays today and then the park closures - it’s already going to be their worse quarter in decades. The stocks down like 40%. Might as well take as much pain as possible when no one will penalize you for it and come roaring back with a killer second half of the year.

They are going to have to find a way to use the movies in holding pattern as an up sell on their streaming services. They desperately need revenue coming in to make payments on that massive amount of debt Iger accumulated.
